  1. My pist sort of fits in this topic but i might add it to my blog later as well. Apologies to those that may read it twice. ;(

i was in the Wittner outlet store in Sydney the other day. Just trying things on. Killing time there are about 6-8 things i like but narrowing the selection down is hard.

Quite a few other shoppers invluding a lady mid 30s very athletic, thin legs. She was also trying on boots but having less luck than me. She was tring a suede pair if knee high pull on boots

So there i was, sitting down taking off a pair of knee boots with a tall heel and the lady pauses near me and asks "your boots look great on and you wear them well. I think these ones are too baggy. What do you think?"

i was stunned that my opinion was been sought on womens boots by a women. So i jumped right in. I said i like boots to be firm up the legs and the one she was wearing were way too baggy especially at the top for my liking. I suggested a pair and walked her down to where they were that are leather front and elastic back. (Theyre too tight for me)

I suggested these and she looked at them. They have a block heel about 8cm. She started to say thd heels were too high for her but about 3/4 way i think she realised she was talking to a guy walking in 10cm heels and stopped herself

so she tried them on. They fit her nicely but I don't know if she bought them.

im still just so chuffed that i got asked for my opinion

thought such a positive meeting needed sharing

Those boots are fun, but I liked the Wittner suede boots a lot better.  I have a pair that are that tall but I haven't worn them out and about.  I have a pair similar to the Wittner suede boots that I wear whenever I want a fancy look.

    Hey TBG

yes they were fun and a blast to try on but the fit and the quality were lacking. Whereas the Wittner ones were solid and you could walk in them these were loose and wobbly.

each visit will grow your confidence and help you dispel those voices inside your head.

What a fun time you had!
They all look amazing on you, but what tickled my fancy the most are the ones above. really fabulous..!

PS - were you wearing hose here?

    Thank you

    yes I generally wear hose.

I know I shouldn't in strappy sandals but for try on its easier and some shops prefer it. Though the girls serving me at WITTNER outlet did say i should take the stockings off and show off my red nails. LOL

The gray OTK boots and the Tammy thigh boots would have been a nice addition to your collection. :text_sigh:

The suede ankle boots do look good though.

Sounds like you had a busy trip but still managed to have fun.

    Indeed. Lots of fun !

  6. Hi all

so here are a few from shoe trying on adventures

    windsor smith ankle boots

    nine west grey knee boots

3 pairs of wittners sandals boots. The strappy sandals were SOOO high 12.5 cm effect, i could barely walk but actually quite comfy

  7. just spent an hour at the Brisbane DFO. Nice place but could have blown my expense account wide open.

tried on a bunch of shoes and boots in WITTNER store and also in WINDSOR SMITH and TONY BIANCO

In the end so many choices. I have 3 on hold, while I make a decision, as I can only afford 1 at present.

O the dilemas we face !!

  9. Hello all

I have ventured onto 'The Iconic' a mail order shop in AUS for fashion.

I have browsed this site for a long time but last week I bought a pair of boots.

They are by ATMOS & HERE. I had never heard of them beforehand, but they go to size 11. I ordered the size 11 and was surprised that they were too big. I returned them and got the size 10, which fit like a glove. The style name is HANNAH. They have a all leather upper and a block wooden heel of 85mm.

I just went down town in them and first wear had them on for 3 hours, walking all over, very comfy, very easy to walk in, could easily become my GO TO booties.

    Enjoy

I'm in Melbourne, the store at South Wharf DFO. Tony Bianco seem to run a bit small for me. Same thing with Nine West as well.

All Wittner 42s are perfect although some pull on type boots are a bit tight when taking them off! I even found some 41s that fit well. And one pair in size 40!!!

South Wharf DFO has some good places. I like it as each time in in Melb I generally stay at Southbank, so its 12 mins walk.

Ive found the Wittner store there a bit small, yet has some OK bargains. The Nine West store frequently has a bunch of 11s out back. and I fit some 10s. 9W dont put 11s on display for some reason. There is also a DSW (??) that Ive had good fortune at picking up 2 pairs of Clarks top quality leather boots at great prices from there. There is a RMK which I find can vary hugely size wise between styles. All up from memory there are about 8-10 good shoe stores to check out.

Next time we might meet up

I agree with Wittner 42's. For some reason (maybe my ankle doesnt bend enough) I have always struggled with the pull on versions. yet zip ones are great

I finally trotted right into a Wittner outlet

The store assistant/s were very polite and welcoming! Don't know if it was genuine or ridicule. But I felt so at home trying on a few pairs. I still couldn't believe myself that I was actually doing it! All the other women didn't even seem to notice me/act like I was there at all. I ended up buying a pair of knee high boots on a 20% discount. ($80)!!  The style name is Natalia. Fit beautifully, size 42.

It also seems as though Most of the shoes in the store look better than the stock photos they have on the website. Even the shoes themselves! They've got more in the store than online. So my next trip is to visit Tony Bianco and Nine West.

WITTNER have great staff ive always found. Which outlet store were you at? I have NEVER had an issue, and yes WITTNER make great shoes and boots. The thing I find in store is the intoxicating smell and feel of genuine leather. You cant get that over the web !

I spent 45 mins in the WITTNER George Street store yesterday.

Tony Bianco this season seem to be running smaller and only go to 10.

Nine West on the other hand have a few 11s this season but also their 10s seem to be a bit roomier.

Again I have never had an issue with either of these stores when I go in

What style name is the brown Nine West with the stacked hell?

    Ahh my apologies

    i should have provided details

shoe 1 Nine West LUKE i tried the suede for size but didnt like the look but found the plain leather in another store. Much better look

Shoe 2 Nine West KIRBY in Barley suede. Fits nice but i felt heel was too chunky and didnt do it for me

shoe 3 Jo Mercer NOTABLE i tried on black and nude but the fit at the arch is all wrong. I have a high arch and it was all over the place. Pity the nude ones were lovely to look at

shoe 4 Nine West HATCHER in Taupe. Current model also in US. Lovely

shoe 5 Nine West Maloney boot. Also current in US

    hope this helps
