  1. Hey Jeff,

Colin Stuart almond toe 4" heel, black pu knee high stretch boot, size 11. They are actually a little roomier than I usually find and have to wear trouser socks rather than knee highs or pantyhose to stop my foot from sliding too much. The pants are Mossimo low rise stretch bootcut, tight and comfortable. The top is NY & Co.

    Thanks, B

  2. I was at a mall tonight with the oddest combination of floors in the main walkway that I think that I have seen anywhere. First, regular tile, then carpet, then wood embedded in the tile and back to the beginning again. That polished wood floor was very slick and it took me a while to get used to it.

But by the time I was done I had it down pat in my 4" stiletto knee boots!!!

  3. I went dressed (pix attached) to the outlet / mall tonight. The mall was quite busy tonight, too. I was wearing Colin Stuart black almond toe knee high stretc boots under my jeans. My first stop was the Nine West outlet where I tried on a number of pairs of shoes. Now, the store was crowded with customers, (women, couples, women and children), and I was wearing the boots. So, to try the shoes on, I had to take the boots off. I was already wearing pantyhose so I didn't need peds or anything else. Eventually I bought the silver sandals below. One of the sales girls asked me if I needed help, I said no, she saw the boots and not another word after that! Actually, the sales help was fine and I'm sure that at least half or more saw me walk in with the stiletto heels and try on the stiletto sandals, pumps, etc.

Then I went to Burlington Coat Factory. By the by, their shoes are quite reasonable and fashionable and there is some selection in US 11. Anyhow, same scene in Burlington; off with the boots, on with the various shoes, etc. The shoe area was busy but not as busy as Nine West. I bought a pair of Wild Rose black and silver sandals.

There is a pic with the pant legs up - just to show what the boot looks like.

Point of it all - I would love to do this everyday!!!!

  4. The men's thong also presents a dilemma! It has a tendency to exagerrate the "manliness" - the point being that certain pieces would have to be tucked away to avoid the great giveaway unless "passing" is not a concern.
  5. As I've explained before, I have further considerations beyond myself. I have a wife who prefers the world doesn't know about my 'heeling' interests nor (growing) HH shoe collection.

That really is it in a nutshell for me. My wife will tolerate it on a limited basis at home but that's as far as it goes in her world. My world is very different but working for the government and being active in church precludes a lot of the local heeling. But I was away on vacation and I did my street heeling today (see a different post for that).

  6. Boots are on a different track because, prior to about 1970, it was not acceptable for a woman to wear boots for fashion purposes in many situations. My high school, which was a public school, even had a dress code for the teachers in the '60s that proscribed boots in the classroom. Boots will have a place as long as the baby boomers are in charge.

Now, I'm a baby boomer (1952 version) and I can tell you about my junior high school teacher with the very tight black crinkle stretch boots.....ummmmmmm!!

  7. As a boot fan, I must say that boots with heels are around much much more now in the 2000s than I can ever remember before - and in significantly greater variety too.

Now today, I was in Macy's and I heard the click, click, click of the heels - and there she was with knee high suede 3 1/2 or 4 inch stiletto black boots with a buckle over the instep, very form fitting and very sexy!

Well, you know where my eyes were....................

Therefore I would DISAGREE WITH THE SENTIMENTS OF PASSE.

  8. I had a very nice white gold chain that I had first made into a bracelet. But after first looking at this post I said to myself that it would, (with the additional piece) be a very nice ankle bracelet. So, finally, I got it to the jewelers. It'll be ready on Monday but I'm not sure when this week that I'll be downtown in NYC to pick it up.

I think that it'll look as good as if it was bought just for it. It has a nice antique look to it. I'll take a pic or two when I get it. Are you going to share yours with us?

  9. We wear heels because we like to, nothing more, nothing less. And that's the way it should be! Period!

Thanks Jeff; we keep reinventing the same wheel and truthfully, it gets boring after a while. Thank you for clearing the air concisely!

  10. Another idea, fastfreddy, is to use the camera sideways so that you get full length without all of the side stuff that you are not interested in (portrait style). Of course, if you are doing a lying down pose, then you want that sideways (landscape) style.
  11. The self timer function on a digital camera will never substitute for a professional photographer, but will take care of most things. Don't hesitate by waiting for an amateur and unless you are very, very serious, don't wait for the professional either. Just get yourself a 5 megapixel or more digital camera, a storage card of two or more gigabytes, a tripod and you are all set.
