  1. Idea time... You could get them resoled in leather and get crafty with a marker pen and some cans of spray paint and deny everything and save £500! Or say they are from the new YSL diffusion line. He did push the 'New Look' along with Dior after all.

  2. There were Pink, Red, Navy, White and Black. May have been others but due to New Look being staffed by children, there were escaped shoes all over the floor! It looked like the aftermath of an Electro Emo Kid Monkey's Tea Party. I went in grabbed the craziest shoes they had and ran out the shop. It's half term and I hate the ambience in New Look at the best of times. You are weak willed when it comes down to shoes Roz. 'I'll resist the urge' to 'What colours do they have' in 2 posts :winkiss:

  3. Not my cup of tea. I can see that the height is great but aesthetically they are a little flawed. If someone gave me some Scream shoes I'd padlock them and the shoes in a cupboard so I never had to lay eyes on them. I do quite like the proper 80s style of metal heels and Gucci did some in the 90s that had something about them.

  4. I already have a pair of YSL Tribtoos in patent black so will resist the urge but thanks for thinking of me. I also have a copy from Bebe with a stacked wood heel - I don't normally buy copies of originals unless they offer something different to the official style.

The fact they were £25 and will probably get trashed is what makes them different to me!

Would love some real ones but need to eat instead.

  5. Hi Guys, Thought I'd share these with you all. Found these whilst looking for some really crazy shoes to wear with an Electro Burlesque outfit for 3 friend's fancy dress birthday party. They are copies of YSL Tribute Too shoes. Super high (6 inch), £25 and go up to a size 8. They do them in loads of colours in the New Look shops but their website just has white, navy and black. I bought them in Patent Hot Pink. I'm sure Roz already has 36 pairs. Cheers, Ben ps. Added photo of the real YSLs.

  6. The nail has been hit on it's head. Kelly makes it look 'easy' because she doesn't have to do it. If celebs ever make their kids dinner, they probably do it in Ugg boots. I saw Sophie Ellis Bextor walking about shopping in Brighton yesterday. She had a little kid and her boyfriend/husband with her and guess what... She was wearing flat shoes! There is a huge pressure on women to look a certain way and wear uncomfortable shoes whilst doing it. Some of them just don't want to do it! Can't say I blame them.

  7. I love the quote below from the 1st person to comment on the video. Brilliant... I couldn't have put it better myself. Cheers, Ben Doesn't any body see what is being sold here???? Not an electrolux machine, but a super woman, a super beautiful, fit woman with 4 kids who is a Perfect mom doing laundry in HIGH HEELS. Why has no body said anything about that? THIS IS NOT A CUTE COMMERCIAL; please people be critical of what you see and try to figure out how the advertisers are making women stressed out trying to be ALL THAT.

  8. The Bertie shop in Brighton shut down last year. Real loss, they had lovely heels and their sale used to be quite amazing for bargains that almost made me feel dirty. Shoe Studio is no match for the Office website. Shoe Studio's offerings are far nicer than Office but the functionality of their website is dire. I can't fathom how to navigate around easily. Kurt Geiger's website is awful too. Why BIG companies can't get it right 1st time I will never know! I had such trouble ordering from KG's site that when I complained they offered me £20 for my troubles. It's a case of shape up or lose out. I think we should all get a free holiday driving dune buggies in Iceland.

  9. Wow - thanks for all your help Benno - much appreciated!

I'll start looking through those results now, see if we can't find something nice for her to wear!

    Thanks again.

    Simon.

No Problem Simon. I'm only too happy to help.

Good luck. Let us all know how you get along.

    Cheers,

    Ben

  10. Try this Link to a search in women's shoes size UK2

    Here's a link for women's size UK2 vintage

With the vintage search I choose size UK 2.5 and 3 too. Vintage comes up small. Ask the seller to supply toe box width and insole length and compare to shoes of a similar style you have that fit.

Try other countries Ebay sites too. France and Italy and surprisingly Germany can yield treasure.

Here's a link for Ebay Italy Euro size 35 (smallest they go down to)

    France here

    Germany here

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

    Ben

  11. I'd recommend Ebay. The attached were found doing a couple of basic searches. Look in the vintage sections too. My old flatmate had tiny feet and was always jealous of my girlfriends range of vintage heels. So we bought her a pair of size 2 UK vintage heels and she wore them until they fell apart. Thanks, Ben

  12. For some reason this thread reminder me of being a teenager in a National Trust country house with my Dad and his then girlfriend. I was looking in the gift shop for something for my Mum's birthday. Dad's girlfriend suggested I buy a set of traditional jams* because ALL Mothers like jam. *Jam is Jello in Britain.

  13. Some interesting points have been made, but without reference to the complete outfit worn isn't this is an unfinished question? Maybe the question should be rephrased 'Do some women like men that have the desire to do/wear something different and pioneering?' To me shoes are only part of an outfit.

  14. Great advert. I remember the 1st time I saw it on telly. Cheers for the link Roz! The only thing wrong with the styling of the ad is the red shoes. They don't look 80s enough. I think they are the same as a pair my girlfriend bought in desperation from ALDO. They bothered to find a retro Wimpy burger sign thought so my hat is off to them! It's still a shame BA won't let Virgin buy the paint used on Concorde. Air France were happy to sell Richard Branson a few planes but BA owns the rights to the special paint used on Concorde. As the plane stretched by something like 9 inches when it went supersonic and normal paint would simply fall off.
