HeelD Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Sky News is a UK rolling news channel (for those of you outside the UK). Their weather forecasters usually stand in front of a large screen to bring us the weather. Because of this we get see their female forecasters entirely - head to heels. Stilletos feature highly with their weather girls. Here's some clips of Sky News weather forecasts I've found on Youtube so far: Lucy Verasamy http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uPvqbuuhukU http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aT6-IHUtKMM&NR=1 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f0AqCQdH56U http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qckhSp9d-N4 Sarah Pennock http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hYfL2tZ92yg There are other weather girls (including the gorgeous Lisa Burke) and when I find some clips I'll post them. loswabs Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Lovely ladies in tight knee-length skirts and high heels. Do you think they have to wear that style? I hope so!!!! It's my opinion, no more, no less
euchrid Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 This one's not bad:- http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn5OWSCeLcM&feature=related Can't see the heels though! Merde! Always High-Heel Responsibly
Guest Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Excellent find - shame the video is so small on youtube, you can't see the heels clearly and there are no close ups
Daisuki Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Lucy Verasamy http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uPvqbuuhukU Wow, who says the weather forecast is boring? Our FOX 11 news (KTTV/Los Angeles), has a camera that shows the shoes of the "weather babes" quite frequently. ...Head to toe coverage taking up about 75% of the vertical screen. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a video on You Tube showing this. I may have to figure out how to use You Tube as it's disappointing not to have an example to share! So, for now, I will tease my fellow viewers with the following videos of the lovely Jackie Johnson who works for KCAL 9 (owned by KCBS 2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9ZcLMJ-Ves http://cbs2.com/video?cid=108 Doesn't it make you want to grab the video camera and zoom out a bit? She has such a nice range of outfits, but we are missing the important part! I sure wished she worked for FOX 11 instead.

roniheels Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 If you think about it, the weather has to be one of the most boring things to watch, unless you are into meteorology. It looks like many of the networks have realized that one way to grab the viewer's attention, is to have a very nice looking, nicely dressed female weartherperson present the weather. Just based on reactions from our group, obviously this is working.
xaphod Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 ITV breakfast is now doing full-length weathergirls, complete with decent heels. It's even prompted some 'erbert on Teletext to send in the following:- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Something's afoot with weathergirls Why are high-heeled shoes necessary to present the weather forecast? DP, Littlehampton, West Sussex. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I generally mute the sound and just watch whoever walking around in her heels. If I want a real weather forecast, I watch the top half of Dr. Carol Kirkwood on the BBC ! Xa
euchrid Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Something's afoot with weathergirls Why are high-heeled shoes necessary to present the weather forecast? DP, Littlehampton, West Sussex. He may have well have asked "why are weather forecasts presented by attractive young ladies?". It's because they are attractive - duh! The recent trend of 'full-length' female presenters wearing stiletto heels is just an extension of the same thing. What would DP of Littlehampton prefer them to wear? --- Ugg boots? Always High-Heel Responsibly
Puffer Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 ... What would DP of Littlehampton prefer them to wear? --- Ugg boots? Probably not 'DP of Littlehampton' but 'DP with littlehampton'. [To elucidate for those unfamiliar with UK rhyming slang: There is a modest town in England called 'Hampton Wick' = rhyming slang for the male organ (aka p***k). This is commonly shortened to 'hampton' - you can guess the rest.]

DJCHESHIRE1 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 seems like sky news have changed the format now of the weather forecasts, so its only waist up shots of the girls....so no more heels shots
goldbed Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Lucy is sexy in a classy and businesswoman sort of way...like it. Hi (first post so excuse me if I am out of place saying this). I am a big fan of Lucy Verasamy and watch Sky News every morning to get my fix of her. Anyway, I had the absolute delight of standing next to her at a bar in London a few months ago. She was with some friends and I overheard her talking about how she wears heels on TV (sadly she wasn't wearing them that day :-( ) and they are at least 3 inches high. Made my day tahat's for sure, and she is even more beautiful in real life. D.
Guest Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Puffer I won't ask you to explain Hampton Wick (between Kingston upon Thames and Teddington) Al
