Dawn HH Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Shafted:-) It appears that your heel wearing is rubbing off onto at least one of your co-workers as she appears to have enjoyed the attention that she was getting while wearing her boots at work. This may lead her to give up the sneakers and start wearing heels to work every day. Wouldn't that be interesting for her and everyone else? Congrats. You never know just how far your influence can go, do you? Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Shafted Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 Because you guys so knidly asked, here I am in my somethin' else boots. One goofy pose, as I was too lazy to take several pix, then pick the best one. http://show.imagehosting.us/show/564389/12244/user_12244/T0_12244_564389.jpg It's been a long day in the courtroom, and this was how I was dressed. Bubba136 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Shafted, there's nothing wrong with the way you look. Infact, you look very natural wearing those boots. I would wonder why anyone would find fault with the way you are dressed...... Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Dawn HH Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Shafted:-) Your outfit looks very natural to me and well co-ordinated with your boots. I guess that the court system in Maine has no quams in having a guy wearing spike heeled boots on their jury. Sounds like you are doing O.K. More power to you. Keep us all posted. Cheers--- Dawn HH P.S... Any comments from the other jurers? High Heeled Boots Forever!
Shafted Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks Bubba, that means a lot, even though I'm well past the point of no return. The only regret that I have is that I hadn't started wearing heel sooner. Shafted, the boots that is! Shafted Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 I can attest to that Dawn, and I will always encourage all people man or woman about the joy of wearing heels should they be so inclined to ask me. Shafted Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 Shafted:-)P.S... Any comments from the other jurers? Not a one Dawn, in fact I felt warmly accepted, if you can call arguing about someone's guilt or innocence warm. I find that people here overall have been very accepting although amused. People have no qualms whatsoever about coming up to me and talking to me despite the heels. They just don't mention them. Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Shafted:-) I guess that the other jurers figure that you are there to do a job just the same as they. It's fantastic that they all accept you even though you are wearing high heels and they all seem to be at ease with that. I take it that this is a mixed jury of both men and women. More power to you. Enjoy. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
JeffB Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Cool pic, Shafted! I like it a lot! That outfit you sported was terrific and it matched the boots perfectly! I can see myself wearing something similar to the office on "Casual Friday"! Most definitely! And that none of your fellow jurors had a problem with what you wore must've been great. More power to you, my friend! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Shafted Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks all! Well I'll be leaving for court again this morning, in order to finish deliberations in this case. The jury is so sharply divided, I don't know how long it's going to take or if the division can even be resolved. Anyway, I thought I'd dig out my 3.5 inch Candies boots for today. Can't wear the same boots to court two days in a row now can I? Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 You certainly can't wear the same pair of boots to jury duty 2 days in a row, Shafted. Besides that...you are on a role and have an opportunity to show off your entire boot collection. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Shafted Posted August 18, 2005 Author Posted August 18, 2005 Well, the result of this case was a mistrial, due to the jury not being able to decide. I was very disappointed, and infuriated at those on the jury who could not separate the evidence presented from their own feelings, considered the attorneys opening and closing statements as evidence or those who had utter contemp for the law that applied to this case. Those of us that used only the evidence presented to us and took the law verbatim came up with a quick judgement. What my first case showed me is that more than 50% of people are not fit for jury duty, because they can't keep their feelings out of the equation. Happened to run into the jury foreman later that day in another town, and she praised me for my conviction to rule based solely on the evidence presented, and thanked me for helping her maintain order in the jury room with a hug (that totally blew me away). And yes, I was still wearing my Candies. At least by sticking to our ground and causing a mistrial, the case isn't dead in the water. I hope those other members are pround of themselves for passing the buck. Sorry for the rant. Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Shafted:-) I don't think that you went on a rant. You were just explaining how the trial progressed to a decision by the jury. I do think you are right when you say that some people are not fit for jury duty. Sometimes they are only thinking of how quickly that they can make a decision just so they can get out in public again. They are thinking about their own inconvience and not the trial and a fair decision. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

jim Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Deciding what to wear can be a real bugger at times, perhaps your new boots would be a good place to start and just work tomorrow's clothes around them.. jim
Dawn HH Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Shafted:-) I'm confident that you will come up with a suitable outfit for your 2nd jury trial. And of course it will include a pair of high heeled boots. More power to you, my friend. We are all behind you on this one. Enjoy! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Shafted Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 I suppose the real issue is I need more boots, maybe something other than black. Truth is black goes with everything. Once you have a color other than a neutral you have to think more about what you wear. Yea that's it, more boots. I'm addicted. Shafted, the boots that is! micha Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Because you guys so knidly asked, here I am in my somethin' else boots. Looks like case#1 is going to go into its second day. Hi Shafted, I like your courage to show a picture from yourself without any twirls or black shadows in your face. That's the way I like it! Only a little criticism: the shafts of your boots are obviously too wide under your jeans. You should better wear them over your jeans ... micha The best fashion is your own fashion!
Dawn HH Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Shafted:-) You are right when you say that black can go with everything. Having boots in any other color takes much more work in trying to match outfits with them. If you have any problems matching things up, just contact JeffB. He is an old hand at doing this and I'm sure he can give you some pointers. He has helped some of the rest of us from time to time. Even the ladies have more black boots than any other color. And black seems to disappear from the shoe shops quicker than any other color. usually the colors are left over for the sales at the end of the season. You are right about being hooked on boots. You can't have enough boots. You "need" more. Mickey thinks that I have enough pairs of boots now and tells me I shouldn't order any more. Then she turns around and orders me 2 more pairs of which I am awaiting delivery on now. She really knows how to make me happy. It is a right of passage for me to break them in around the house and then to take them out and street-heel in them. What glory! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Shafted Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 The funny thing is micha is that the digital camera does lie the boots dont go that high. It's actually just a weird case of shadow play as near as I can tell. It looks really odd in the photo, but I can assure you it isn't real. If it's not shadow play it may be and odd result of compression. Shafted, the boots that is! JeffB Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Only a little criticism: the shafts of your boots are obviously too wide under your jeans. You should better wear them over your jeans ... micha Micha: If memory serves, those are ankle boots Shafted wore in that pic, so wearing jeans over them is impractical. It looks to me like the cut of the jeans he wore presented the image of bulky boot shafts. I've had that happen to me when I wear jeans. No big deal. Shafted: Finding boots in colors other than black, brown or white can be challenging. Black is still THE color of choice when it comes to boots these days, but they can match well with a variety of outfits. You don't have to wear all black (when I do, co-workers jokingly call me Johnny Cash!), there's no harm in branching out. If you need help, just drop me a line! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Shafted Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 Had in positive encounter with some of the neighborhood kids, mostly girls, today after returning from getting my truck registered. As I was getting out of my truck one of the young girls said,"I like your high heels." to which I replied,"Thank you." "Do you wear them alot?" she inquired. "Oh? Most of the time." I responded. She added, "I like your truck too.", to which I said thanks. I'm beginning to see the influence I can have on people of all ages by wearing heels, and it definitely seems to be a positive one. The only negative reaction I've had, has come from one old woman in front of the grocery store, that I recounted in this thread. I've had mostly positive reactions from adults, teens and preteens alike. I feel I need to stress the following point again. Our society is primed for full acceptance of men in high heels. We all need to just go out and do, and do it with confidence and good taste. Shafted, the boots that is! You are absolutely right on this one Jeff, as a caught that same pair of jeans doing it to me a few minutes ago. It's definitely not the boots doing it as the shafts are not that high and the thin PVC shafts fit close. Shafted, the boots that is!
