Simcity3 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I want a pair! Good then im not the only insane person here Found this. Known as High Tide Heels, they combine the elegance of stiletto heels with the swimming speed of flippers. They could provide a fashionable alternative for sun-seekers who don't want the hassle of changing footwear every time they cool off with dip in the sea. But don't expect to see thousands of tourists ditching their flip flops and sandals in favour of High Tide Heels this year. The shoes were created by the Belgian artist Paul Schietekat for an exhibition in 2006, and there are not thought to be any plans to release them commercially. Even so, similar designs are causing excitement among style-conscious travellers on shoe websites. One commenter wrote: "Great for crazy fashionistas who don't want to be seen without heels even at the beach. "I think Posh Spice should adopt this style, she almost always wears heels." But others thought they would be too uncomfortable for practial use, with one commenter writing: "I am sorry but these of got to be the weirdest style of shoes I have ever seen. "I cannot begin to imagine how in the world you would walk in them without tripping over you feet." Here's the link: http://www.telegraph...d-flippers.html http://meinheels.wordpress.com/
ilikekicks Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I bet with some ' croc ' type material, those could be made. Might be a bit pricey, but if it wasnt a closed back heel.. maybe a strap like a sling-type shoe.. it could become more universal and made in quantity for various fitment per size. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
Curt Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Imagine wearing those to the public pool? WHATEVER!
Histiletto Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 At first they were repulsive to think anyone would even consider wearing them. However, they have a way of growing on you to wonder what it would be like to show up at a swimming place wearing them. They'd better fit tightly to some extent or they'd be lost flipping around in the water. May be some Mary Jane or ankle straps would be of help. Of course, I'd want mine made with the smoothness of a patent leather finish.
Alexis Hill Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 They definitely do grow on you. At first, I also said why would anyone want to wear that but then thought well maybe.
