danielp6406 Posted March 18, 2010 Share Posted March 18, 2010 Greetings everyone :-) Below is my encounter at the grocery store which I have to share with all of you because it was so cute and refreshing at the same time. In order for you to understand the context, here is what I was wearing today: - Black ankle boots with 2½" block heels - Black trousers - A light blue turtleneck sweather - Black leather coat - Shoulder strap black leather bag - Small stud earings I was also wearing sunglasses (Very sunny outside ) (For those who don't know, my head is completely shaved...) (From far away it is possible you may think I am a woman with a shaved head) (But the closer you get, the quicker you will change your mind ) Now you got an idea of what I was looking like today I was in an alley when I passed in front of a father and his young daughter, maybe 6-7 years old. When I was a few feet pass them, they started talking to each other. (I slowed down to hear what they were saying) GIRL - Daddy, Daddy, is this a woman or a man ? FATHER - It is a man. Why are you asking ? GIRL - Are you sure it is a man ? - She is wearing heels so it must be a woman ! FATHER - It is a man for sure. Look at him again (Now in a very relaxed voice to her daughter). - Did you know that some men like to wear heels ? - Now you do ! I was completely strunned by the father's reply. (I was not prepared to hear such a nice and refreshing reply !) I continued my shopping. At the end of next alley I passed near the little girl again (She was holdind the shopping cart waiting for her father). This time she was looking at me straight into my eyes. (I removed my sunglasses so she can see my face) Now I am sure she is convinced that I was a man... wearing heels It was the first time I hear someone else clearly talking about me and my heels in public. I'm not sure if they've ever compiled precise stats, but I'd be willing to be more than 50% of all guys have worn heels, and I mean wearing them, not just trying them on, even if they've just worn them around the house. I do know its quite common to the point of more than 90% for boys to try on their mother's, grandmother's, aunt's, or a neighbor's heels, and to do so on multiple occasions.
