danielp6406 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Greetings everyone :-) Below is my encounter at the grocery store which I have to share with all of you because it was so cute and refreshing at the same time. In order for you to understand the context, here is what I was wearing today: - Black ankle boots with 2½" block heels - Black trousers - A light blue turtleneck sweather - Black leather coat - Shoulder strap black leather bag - Small stud earings I was also wearing sunglasses (Very sunny outside ) (For those who don't know, my head is completely shaved...) (From far away it is possible you may think I am a woman with a shaved head) (But the closer you get, the quicker you will change your mind ) Now you got an idea of what I was looking like today I was in an alley when I passed in front of a father and his young daughter, maybe 6-7 years old. When I was a few feet pass them, they started talking to each other. (I slowed down to hear what they were saying) GIRL - Daddy, Daddy, is this a woman or a man ? FATHER - It is a man. Why are you asking ? GIRL - Are you sure it is a man ? - She is wearing heels so it must be a woman ! FATHER - It is a man for sure. Look at him again (Now in a very relaxed voice to her daughter). - Did you know that some men like to wear heels ? - Now you do ! I was completely strunned by the father's reply. (I was not prepared to hear such a nice and refreshing reply !) I continued my shopping. At the end of next alley I passed near the little girl again (She was holdind the shopping cart waiting for her father). This time she was looking at me straight into my eyes. (I removed my sunglasses so she can see my face) Now I am sure she is convinced that I was a man... wearing heels It was the first time I hear someone else clearly talking about me and my heels in public. I will remember this one for sure ... Happy heeling all !
Regen Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 What was the girl's facial expressions when you removed your glasses? Also, I'm glad you seemed to enjoy your heeling experience.
Majo Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Well, Daniel, maybe he was a heel wearer himself! Great experience astonishing, thanks for sharing.
Guest Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Refreshing to hear some sense. magic to your ears I'm sure Al
hhboots Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Thanks for sharing, a very cool and refreshing thing to hear.
roniheels Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I am glad to hear there are people with cool heads and positive perspectives. He sounds like a person who accepts those as they are and is trying to pass that along to his child. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Bootking Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 We need more of those kind of people in the world; accepting of people's differences! It's all about the heel!
danielp6406 Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Thank you all for the positive replies ! It was magic to my ears indeed And I hope it will happen again. See below a picture of the ankle boots I was wearing that day. Regen: The little girl's facial expressions when I removed my glasses was kind of neutral. I was sure she was going to say something to me but she didn't ...
Dawn HH Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 DanielP6406:-) That father certainly handled that situation admirably. There should be more open-minded people like him in the world. I wonder if he was a heel wearer himself? Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Puffer Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Nice boots, daniel. Wish I could find some here in UK11!
kikepa Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Well, Daniel, maybe he was a heel wearer himself! Could very well have been! I'm not sure if they've ever compiled precise stats, but I'd be willing to be more than 50% of all guys have worn heels, and I mean wearing them, not just trying them on, even if they've just worn them around the house. I do know its quite common to the point of more than 90% for boys to try on their mother's, grandmother's, aunt's, or a neighbor's heels, and to do so on multiple occasions. Those who really care about us don't make a fuss about what we wear. Those who make a fuss about what we wear really don't care about us.
