Snow Shoes

Recommended Posts

Looked out of the window at 6:00am this morning and was greeted by a thick layer of snow that had fallen in the night. Just thinking about the ladies looking at the snow and wondering about what footwear to put on today. If you normally wear heels to work would you change on a day like this? Did a bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon and there were a few stilettos to be seen but the in thing seemed to be snazzy wellington boots in bright colours with floral patterns. Still managed to slip on the ice in my steel toe cap work shoes with thick tread and land on my bottom lol.

In true Cinnamon style, I put my Lady Page Loubous on and made sure I was driven door to door so as not to get them dirty.

I don't think a little snow should ruin a good outfit :cry1:

Very classy Cin, exactly how a lady wearing Louboutins should be treated!

Honestly a girl can't have too many shoes!

"Dancing in stilettos in the snow" I think the line is. From the album "misplaced childhood parts 1 and 2" I posted last year of one tale of following a young lady in the snow and how well she travelled. Al

And the full lyrics

Do you remember, chalk hearts melting on a playground wall?

Do you remember, dawn escaped from moonwashed college halls?

Do you remember, the cherry blossom in the market square?

Do you remember, I thought it was confetti in our hair

By the way didn't I break your heart?

Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart.

So sorry I never meant to break your heart.

But you broke mine.

Kayleigh is it too late to say I'm sorry.

Kayleigh could we get it together again.

I can't go on pretending that it came to a natural end.

Kayleigh I never thought I'd miss you,

and Kayleigh I'd hoped that we'd always be friends.

We said our love would last forever,

so how did it come to this bitter end.

Do you remember, barefoot on the lawn with shooting stars

Do you remember, loving on the floor in Belsize Park

Do you remember, dancing in stilettos in the snow

Do you remember, you never understood I had to go.

By the way, didn't I break your heart ?

Please excuse me I never meant to break your heart

So sorry, I never meant to break your heart,

But you broke mine.

Kayleigh, I just want to say I'm sorry,

but Kayleigh I'm too scared to pick up the phone.

To find you've found another lover to patch up our broken home.

Kayleigh, I'm still trying to write that love song,

Kayleigh it's more important to me now you're gone.

Maybe it'll prove that we were right

Or it will prove that I was wrong.

Thanks and acknowledgements to Lyrics007 website.

I've always loved the words of the song and the way it's sung.

There is that question, is she really there or is it that he is imagining her there listening.

Depends. If they have been treated with mink oil or silicone spray, they should be safe from the moisture (check the directions/warnings on the label). However, they could damaged from any ice melting product (salt, calcium chloride, etc.)

I only wear leather boots in the snow. When I'm finished wearing them, I thoroughly wash them in a warm water soapy solution to get the dirt and salt off of them. Then I dry them completely and let them sit for a day and then put a coat of polish on them if needed. Cheers--- Dawn HH

  • 3 weeks later...

those are some nice boots-I used to have a pair that was similar some years ago:smile:

Thanks, I found them very comfortable during the few hours I've been wearing them so far.

My favourite boots: Bronx Scarlet Hi, as in my avatar.

I've grown fond of Tecnica's Moon Boots :cry1: I know they are bulky, and a bit odd, but they are comfie and when the snow iced over at the inlaws they had plenty of traction and were very warm. I've also worn them here on the motorcycle when it's in the 30's. hehe
