Higher and Higher.... it's a competition!!

This past weekend, I went to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos in Connecticut with my wife... The primary objective was to see Robin Williams. Of course, we needed to kill some time on Saturday and Sunday nights, so we were gallivanting around the various casinos, etc.... All I can say is WOW!!!! There is a definite competition for who can wear the highest heels and walk as if in sneakers/trainers. We were walking behind these two young women (just over 21 I would guess), each wearing skirts, one wearing a pair of boots with what looked like a 5" heel and the other wearing a pair of shoes with what looked to be more than a 5" heel - neither with platforms. If you could only see their upper bodies while they were walking, you'd think they were just gliding -- it was amazing. Of course, I had to be careful as my wife was right next to me.... so the glances had to be properly timed if you know what I mean. I also saw some women around the same age wearing incredibly high heeled boots with jeans that were tight enough to be skin. They were also walking as if they were floating. Now for this one -- on several occasions, a new (I think it's new at least) fashion is a short skirt and black spandex with knee-high boots with super high heels. Personally, I kind of like that look -- not sure why. Something amazing that is coming out of this story though -- my wife is falling in love with the higher heels now. She bought herself a pair or 5 1/4" Pleasers a few weeks ago (but won't wear them out) and it really drooling over a couple of pairs of Aldo shoes... When we were in the Aldo store, I was eying a pair of knee-high boots with a nice (what looked like a) 5" heel and small platform. The website says they're $250.... That'll take some savings. Another thing about Aldo's store -- the sales help there wear the most incredible heels!!! I almost took out a display when I saw them all wearing 5+" heels!!!!! Next stop -- Las Vegas!!!! That will be an adventure as I will be alone on a business conference.

High heels are the thing at the moment. Here in the UK girls have been wearing both skinny jeans and skirts and leggings for ages now, both styles with the highest heels they can manage. Now the leggings are giving way to black shiny wet-look ones that look like they're sprayed on combined with very high heel ankle boots and leg-warmers!

I was walking down Regent St in London three weeks ago and spotted 4 pairs of overknee boots with at least 5 inch heels all worn over skinny jeans and i saw one pair of Thighboots with same height heels being worn over what looked like lycra legging, Must admit to following her for allmost 10 minutes in the wrong direction to what i wanted to go. It was a great site, she looked stunning. The Trend is high and that for me is great, Bring on the girls in those heels:smile: Oh and the boys.

Ankle boots are really popular here at the moment, even I am tempted to buy a pair, and I have never ever ever liked them before. One of my friends at work has a great pair, they look similar to a pair I saw in Faith but were in black patent. I love the leggins look, it's quite flirty but leggins are pretty warm too. I am wearing thick tights a lot too, but I normally just wear with knee high boots, rarely heels on their own although it has been known. The trend is definitely getting higher and higher. I used to wear 5" heels on a night out and live in 4", but now it's 6" and 5" respectively. I think plats definitely help, nobody used to wear them, now everybody is! It's great news for heel lovers.

Ankle boots are really popular here at the moment,

Do you mean booties or "traditional" ankle boots?

The one trend I see here is that some ladies were "traditional" ankle boots with a shorter skirt, and the look of that kind of hurts my eyes :w00t2: Ankle boots are fine when they are under pants though.

Other than that, "ugg boots" are totally in here, unfortunately. Never saw so many as now ever.

Probably booties, I've never really cared for either so I am pretty uneducated if I'm honest! My boots are almost always knee length, never longer, rarely shorter! I have got a pair of black ugg boots I have to admit, they're pretty comfy to doss about in with a short skirt and tights.
