There's some ridiculous nonsense in this article:-

More Boyle BS...
"I look like a film star" she says. "Yes, like Lassie" we reply

Am i over reacting to light hearted comments or does this go a bit deeper?
you're over-reacting.
-
I'd be up for it. it'd be great to wear something "out there" without being judged or ridiculed for it.
-
Black and Dark Brown for me thanks.

New Look have a pair instore now. Black, soft leather-look and a nice shape to them but they're probably 'made in china' plastic. I didn't see the price.

do you any of you guys buy flats?
never have, but often think about doing so.
there are loads of attractive & comfortable-looking flat womans/unisex shoes available. i'll probably get some at some point.

it's a UK-only show unfortunately. there's 1000's of clips available on YouTube though. the opening titles are here:-

Does anyone here watch this prog.? As a 40-something geezer, i'm way outside the target demographic but I occasionally get to see it when my daughter is watching. It's a far-fetched teenagers soap opera basically but it can be fantasticaly rewarding viewing due to the number of foxy girls and high heels on display. One girl in particular is rarely seen without a pair of PVC stiletto over-the-knee boots. Other characters regularly wear teetering stilettos, wedges, dolly shoes, strappy platforms - you name it. Well worth tuning in for, particularly the omnibus on a lazy Sunday. Also - there's a bisexual cross-dressing character in it. It's great to see a man wearing heels on TV without it being treated as comedy (the usual approach - see Boy Meets Girl, etc, etc.), unfortunately, the negative stereotyping just gets reinforced everytime he does so - "men who wear womens clothes/shoes are gay or bisexual". You just can't win with this, can you? Still, it's better than nothing. Please give it a watch and let me know your thoughts.

would love to join you but it's too far afield for me unfortunately. plus the missus has other plans for me anyway thanks for the invite though.

That old saying about lipstick & pigs springs immediately to mind!

Yeah, could be fun, in the right sort of shop. i'm thinking of some sort of trendy unisex boutique selling Kurt Geiger type stuff rather than a family shoe shop selling schoolwear, trainers, crocs, etc...
-
cool. so where's your shop? is it 'high street' footwear (e.g. Clarks, Marks & Sparks, Next), younger fashion stuff (River Island, New Look) or more specialist/exclusive/expensive/fetish interest? (Louboutin, Nine West?)

Has anyone else heard of this character?
I saw him on a Big Brother show (BBLB) last week and wondered 'who he?'
He's a butt-ugly bloke (scraggy hair, bearded, paunchy, etc.) who openly wears make-up, womens fashions and - gasp - high heels. He looks to be part of the UK fashion scene. Don't think he's a designer though.
There's some stuff about him on here:-

What do we reckon?

I quite like them. Like most Pleasers however, I expect they look great in photos but feel like (expensive) plastic rubbish in real life.

Kate Moss in Yves Saint Laurent platforms.
mmmmm......
(both her & the shoes!)

Maybe some of the guys are shy about a "meet up" as meeting face to face in the flesh is much harder than talking about it via the net....
Yes, I think that's a major factor.
It's also difficult for HHP members with partners (either disapproving ones or unknowing ones!) - those members either have to 'come clean' to their partners or come up with an alibi, which obviously adds stress to the situation and forces the question "is it worth it?".
..does anyone know how many members of HHP are based in the UK?
I'd expect that data to be available form the membership list. can a moderator enlighten us?

So how did the heel meet go? Did Aldo in Camden still have a sale on ?
Went pretty good thanks. no heel wearing took place but a fair amount of trying on did.
Yep, Aldo sale still on & some ace bargains to be found e.g. £15 black leather 5" stiletto pumps and sandals.
The shelves are vitually cleared of boots now though (it's spring/summer stocks only of course). still plenty of those in the other shops though.

As a 'short-arse', there is a practical benefit in me wearing heels. I have certainly benefited from wearing them at a couple of 'standing-room only' gigs. Alas, this practicality had to be offset against the discomfort of standing in heels for 2+ hours. Will still be doing it again sometime though

Most of the local ‘yobs’ walk around in shorts or capri’s of varying lengths but mock anybody who wears similar clothing. Strange world we live in.
I saw numerous 'hip' teenage lads at Camden & Brent Cross yesterday wearing jeans/trousers that were hanging around their backsides, their underpants clearly on display above them. Not a word was spoken or finger pointed at any of them !?! In a logical, healthy society, we would all be calling these idiots out for being, well for being idiots basically. What will they do next? wear no trousers at all? wear them around their ankles?
meanwhile, a guy openly wearing heels will get stared at, pointed at, nudge-nudge+whisper treatment, snickering, looks of pity/amusement/horror, etc. (I know, i've seen all of these and more when out & about with some of the 'brazen' streetheelers from this forum)
Strange and distinctly unfair world we live in!
PC gone mad - what do you think?

oops, I missed this thread & started another one after seeing the story online today.
i think the article is basically just mis-reporting the TUC motion which was simply about banning 'heels are mandatory for women' rules in the workplace.
i have no idea which professions actually have this rule (pole dancing clubs?)
