  1. I saw one again. This time in the San Francisco airport. He was wearing 3" cuban heels with skinny jeans and a fitted jacket. Quite nice look. But nothing like the two stylish women he was with. One of them was as beautiful as I ever saw: long dark hair with highlighted strands and stiletto boots. The other one wearing boots with a stacked block heels. Made my day. I wish I had my camera on me.

  2. I went to Nine West Outlet and DSW today to see what they had. I was wearing knee high Colin Stuart brown snakeskin boots with a 4" stiletto heel and had to take them off to try on other stuff.

In Nine West there was only the salesgirl, no one else and she didn't bother me except to say hello when I walked in. Same at DSW except there were a lot more people in there, staff and customers. Although people noticed, no one said anything.

This was the first time that I tried on women's shoes in in the store in years except for the fetish store.

That is great. I feel that on-line shopping just can't compare with in-store. THe interaction with the sales people and sometimes with other shoppers makes it just so much more fun. I often get tips and suggestions from the people. Once I was trying on exactly the same shoes as another shopper and she admitted I looked better in them ! I rarely ever buy online.

I also feel we have to get away from our embarrassement. It is just shoes !

  3. What about the image attached?

This is a brazilian actress called Claudia Raia, famous for her shoe taste.

The image is the cover of an old Long Play of the sound track of a brazilian soup opera.

Look at her feet and see how she can sit in that manner and touch both the heel and point of the shoe on the floor at the same time.

I doubt I can make it barefoot ;)

I have no problem sitting like that. Just tried it :-)

  4. I shave my legs, but wouldn't mind trying waxing. Am a bit apprehensive about finding a salon that does it. The smooth feeling is awesome. I never want to go back to hairy legs

  5. I do them pretty much all. Shaving your legs doesn't really draw any attention. There are plenty of guys with little or no hair on their legs. Painted toes can draw attention but it is minor. Actually, if you get a comment, which is rare, it is positive.

  6. Johnieheel, I did exactly the same experiment a while ago. First walked through the mall with HH and had this feeling people were staring at me. Maybe it was because I was wearing a bag from Kate Spade (had just bought a gift for an employee). Then I went to the car and changed to regular shoes. Interestingly, I still had the feeling people stared at me. So indeed, it is mostly a head game. That doesn't mean that people don't notice your heels, but they are probably less fixated on it than you think. Especially where there are few people around, people tend to look at each other. That is why a crowded place is often better if you prefer not to get spotted.

  7. Hey stuffs, Definitely try them on in the store. The last thing you want to do is to quickly try them on in a dark corner. If you are browsing women's shoes and taking them of the rack, sales people know they are for you. Trust me. Just go the whole way. You will find it quite pleasant. 90% of the time I find the sales people to be very pleasant and helpful.

  8. I wear an older pair of Candies block heel boots (4" heel) in the snow. Works out pretty well. Occasionally I have worn blade heel boots. The heel cuts in the ice so it gives some stability. I find that the problem comes more with water on the floors on buildings created by the wet snow people drag in. If you don't have any rubber or anti slip on the shoe, water on marble floors is worse than ice.

  9. I agree that the path does not need to continue to dressing in skirts in public. If you want to do that and can get away with it, more power to you. But there are plenty of guys that stick to the shoes. For me, one of the reasons to stop there is that I wear heels because they look good on me. When I try on a women's garment, I have to be very careful that it does not look ridiculous on me. I have gone through a similar evolution in my shoe wearing. Like many I started with buying some fetish shoes (6 inchers). Now I only wear shoes that most well dressed women would wear outside. So I shop at places like Nine West, Nordstrom or Bakers and buy the typical 4 inch heels that are common.

  10. My advice on wearing heels through security is to make sure that whatever you wear it doesn't take forever to take off. People in security lines are most interested in things going swiftly, and nobody likes slow people in front of them. Otherwise, I don't think it matters what you wear. I have often worn heels in airports. It is a great place since everyone is rushing around. I change out of them before I get on the airplane for two reasons. On the plane you are literally stuck. If you were to get somebody really disapproving next to you, it could be an unpleasant flight. One could argue that I shouldn't care. But the main reason is that there is already not enough legroom. Having your knees come up higher with the high heel, makes it even more uncomfortable.

  11. You're right - those boots are stunning.

So how much did they actually cost you? Still in the £80-£100 area, i'd guess. Too rich for my high-heels budget! :santa_hat:

No, they were marked of to $79.95 and then I received another 30% off because I bought two pairs of shoes. Really a steal !

Shoes are so much less expensive in the US now than in Europe. I travel occasionally to Europe and can 't afford anything there anymore. The high rate of the Euro to the dollar doesn't help. You should all come and shop in the US.

  12. I went shopping last week and got these at Nine West. They were all on sale so I got a great bargain. The two sales girls were awesome. They showed me a variety of new shoes in the stores and let me try them on. I was in there for at least 45 minutes. At one point I was trying on the same shoes as another customer (the sandals) and we were debating the merits of them to each other. I think I looked better in them ! She recommended some platform sandals to me that she had also tried on, but I didn't like them on my feet. In the end she bought the same sandals I did. I really like the boots. They are shiny but have a slight distressed look to them. One of the sales girls had picked them out for me, and we all agreed that there was no way I was leaving the store without these. I like them so much I put them on afterwards going in to a Barnes and Noble to get a book and some coffee. Sat around at the tables in the coffee area with boots and heel fully exposed. Nothing out of the ordinary.
