  1. Interesting. On a personal level I ran a similar argument with my wife. My brother in law (BIL) worked for Sheriff Joe Arpio. Joe Arpio is one currupt, media driven bully who will take every opportunity to get on the evening news. My BIL got into trouble, Joe had him pasted all over the evening news, we bailed him out, went with him to court dates, helped bm find and pay his lawyer, and worked to keep him from jumping off a bridge. As this was going down and we were all very supportive to him I asked my wife something to the effect of, "Your brother did this, hurt these people, we support him anyhow, but I still gotta hide my heels? No support for me?". At that time I still didn't bridge the gap. Things are a little bit better now days, however. Best, Larry

  2. Congested on your anniversary. I totally hear you on the sometimes wondering what you are doing. Yeah we enjoy doing it, yeah people don't really give us trouble., but sometimes I think that it is just plane nuts. And, you know what? That's okay too. Best, Larry

  3. Oh, wow, International Day Against Homophobia.  Very cool!  Even more cool that Foxyheel's Idaho Day event was at a workplace.  Very, very cool, indeed.

Heck, I was on my cell phone and barely awake.  Please excuse my lack of Googlization. :-)

    Best,

    Larry

  4. I must admit that it was very cool when a gal asked to try on my heels at a Halloween party once. That was several years ago before I was more open with my heels. Would have been cool if you could have just said they were your boots. Cool experience regardless. Best, Larry

  5. Hey All,

    Haven't been here in a while as I was Out West with my wife's family in northern Mexico. Bought some shoes on the long trip back to Wisconsin. Here's what I got;

The first pair I got at Charlotte Russe at Arrowhead Center in Phoenix, AZ, the second and third pairs I got at NineWest and Steve Madden respectively at Cherry Creek Mall in Denver last Saturday night the 10th. I wore bootcut jeans and my Cecilia wedges from Bakers into the mall and then wore the the Nine West wedges to a movie later Saturday night. We all woke up Sunday morning to about 2" of snow in Denver as a strong cold front moved through.

Now I'm back in the coolness of the Upper Midwest and the mantle of clouds. Why the hell did I come back?? Oh, yeah, that little detail called work. Then again the work pays for the heels so not too bad I guess.

    Howdy HappyinHeels,

Wow, you were in Arizona, I would have loved to have connected.  Arrowhead is, however, on the complete opposite end of town from me - 45 miles away.  My MIL lives near there in Sun City so we make our way out there from time to time.

Great selection on the heels.  The first pair of wedges are to die for.  I wish they came just two sizes larger.

    All the best,

    Larry

  6. One thing you have going for you, and its quite a good thing : The footwear you have chosen somehow ' fits ' your build. Im NO FAN of jackstands or platforms, yet with your build, they fit the overall image your presenting. They dont look out of place or anything. Your one of the few people whom post full body pictures on here and in all of them, you look good in your style of things. I dunno if its because you have a muscular of thicker build, but they look good on you in my opinion ( unlike some pencil thin women whom wear 2-10inch platforms and look like they have frankenstein legs or something.. ). Theres only one thing missing in your whole outfit that would finish the statement off.. You need the wallet from Pulp Fiction! ( I wont post pictures of it as someone will be ' offended ' )

Like - Ditto I have thought that your muscular build along with the rest of your style really works well for some time now. You also one of the few guys I would say looks like a real "bad ass" in high heels. That ous a compliment. Thanks for sharing your pics. Best, Larry
  7. Lime15, I dig that style too. I have them in black patent and blue suede. On the day that I decided that I was going to start wearing my heels out and about I took a long lunch, went to torrid and bought the blue suede pair, and went to go have coffee in them.

  8. One thing that I simply find interesting is that across the globe you find, for the most part, it is women that wear high heels. Anywhere fashion exists this appears to be the case. It is interesting that in areas where lifestyle seemingly develops independantly a basic set of "social norms" can be found that seem to exist across the board - such as women wear high heels.

  9. Yeah, I sent them an email with a bug list when the last website went live. I received a polite we'll fix it in time response however I don't recall ever seeing a fix. I also sent them a letter expressing substantial disappointment when I trekked out to a few stores that showed the shoes I wanted in stock online only to find them out of stock everywhere. They replied with an apology and sent me a gift card.

  10. I never used to like platforms but I have developed an appreciation for them over the last year or two. This year I was going to wear an awesome pair of nude platform pumps from Brash to the fundraiser but they changed up their event and was made only available to college kids through an ASU frat house this year. So I am starting to dig the style of the platform and there is also something about the way you have to walk in them that I dig too. I do have to say that it is far easier to walk gracefully in non-platform heels though because platforms seem to want to snap right into a vertical position where as single sole pumps tend to rock. I think to walk really smoothly that the rocking action helps. Best, Larry

  11. mlroseplant- Well, I'll be damned if that doesn't look good on you! I think many of us have wondered how a guy would look in a suit with high heels on and how it would come across and I must say with no hesitation, "Iowa has one sharp-dressed man". Maybe I'll wear something like that to the next ZZ Top concert I go too :). Thanks for showing us. HappyinHeels

Yeah, I was thinking ZZ Top too.
  12. I think we spoke too soon about the Brash line as Payless just offered up a few new styles, one of which I purchased instantly.

Available in both cognac with gold hardware and black with silver hardware. I went for the cognac as I think it pops a little more and regret not picking up heels from Payless in the past that were offered in that color.

Once they arrive I'll give a full rundown and full review and of course post the same over at Payless.

Yeah, I saw those yesterday and was trying to remember which thread I posted that in so I could correct myself. Glad to see that the brand is not gone.

    Best,

    Larry
