  1. Used to wear my moms shoes in secret through my teens - like most of us I was always terrified I would be caught. Was fine until my feet passed hers size and then it was always a bit of a stretch! When I finally moved into a place of my own, I took a pair of her cast-offs which were destined for charity - a pair of white court shoes with a 3' heel. The cleaner found them - blagged her that they belonged to a girl I'd met and they had to go! Finally bought pair of my own in my mid 20's. They were a pair of black suede courts by Bally with a 3 heel - they were so comfortable it was scary!

  2. We may have passed each other on Tuesday --

New Look also does a fair range of 9/42 plus they have a wide fit, all reasonably priced. Granted that they are not Aldo quality but they do fit well and are comfortable. Although the ladies who helped me giggled a bit - they were young - they were more than willing to help and I got these

Also found out that Next also a 9 but didnt see anything that I fancied. Think I've bought enough black shoes :) - the brogue style were a first for me though

  3. Yep, the race card is a poor excuse! Particularly interesting in this case because if they stopped their narrow minds to think for just minute, they'd realise that athletics is one area where skin colour doesnt really matter / count / have any influence. Simply look at the fact - a large percentage of champions (past & present) are people of colour!!

  4. wand even got out and opened the gate, actually 1st time out the house in heels!!

still plan on trying the 5'' heels soon, will post on that as soon as it happens!!

    :)

:) Congrats FX - look forward to reading about your post about 5" outing

  5. So what's the big deal about going into a shop and saying "I'm interested in that style shoe; do you have it in a size 10, please?"

I guess its different strokes for different folks!

Some of us are still trying to understand our desire to wear heels when society frowns upon it whilst others - like yourself Guy N Heels - have grown through and understand the desire (and are very comfortable with it). Whilst I admire your openess and even think you serve as a role model - not all of us are at the same point as you :)

  6. Good on you bru!! It is so cool to see someone else driving and getting around in heels.

Did you do the Wimpy Womansday thing. (where the men get free coffee if they wear heels) We went out for coffee to Wimpy on Monday and it was a blast.

I enjoyed the outing so much. I can not wait for the next one.

    Mooi so!!!!

Just my luck - an opportunity springs up and I'm out of the country :). Oh well, just have to make sure Im home for coffee at Wimpy next years on Womans Day

  7. FXHH - Congrats and well done Boet! Very jealous Know what you mean about the space between the steering wheel and legs, it is tricky! Plenty of ways but ultimately its practice. On another forum, someone suggested keeping knees together and swinging both legs out at the same time .. or getting in, sitting down first with back facing handbrake and swinging legs in. Apparently ladies wearing skirts do it this way to make it easier. Each to their own Enough rambling - congrats and thanks for sharing. Gives us all hope

  8. I use a similar strategy, a recent pair i bought from select i went to the store took a picture on mobile being obvious and then text, in a minute i would relook at phone pick up the shoes and off to the till giving impression i sent pic for approval, also you could go back to another select walk straight to staff show them the pic and ask for them in whatever size they will assume your girl has sent pic.

    Ditto - both work !!!

Still doesnt stop me breaking into a cold sweat :nervous:though wondering what they think of a bloke buying heels.

  9. I wouldn't try to put the wife in the middle and I wouldn't go back at all until they are having their "going out of business sale". :)

I agree - theres an unspoken rule in marketing that says for every good experience a customer has, they may tell 1 other - for every bad experience they have they tell 10 others. Although you havent posted the shop name here (probably a safe bet not to), make sure you do tell your 10 verbally.
