  1. When I wear my leggings I make sure that I wear a longer top as not to show off anything. I and my wife don't have any problem with that. That's my feeling on this matter.

  2. I always get compliments on my mani's and pedi's from both women and men. I wear clear gel over a light pink base on my hands with always some color and or art deco on my little pinkies. As far as my toes go it's always a bright red color except for October when it's bright pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

  3. Guys, don't be afraid to wear leggings. I do and even with an older body, I still get lots of compliments wearing them from the ladies. My wife and I even have some matching pairs of leggings. I'm anxiously waiting for warmer weather so I can wear my capri leggings which really shows off your heels. So as SF says why should gals have all the fun. And BTW, I like my women's jeans. GV to be exact and I have them in regular length, crop length and capri length.

New sandals for spring and summer !!!…..

I saw these sandals last February and had to have them (even tho I did not need them!).

The ankle wrap thong is “Popi” by Nine West, size 11.  The chunky-heeled sandal is Morel by VanEli from Marmi Shoes, size 12.

I like both styles for totally different reasons.

The Popi thong has a unique feminine “edgy” look to it with the semi clear upper and the ankle ties.  The kitten heel is 3 1/4 inches high, the highest heel I own.  All of my other heels are less than 3 inches.  That extra ¼ inch makes a difference too.  I have worn them out almost daily the past two weeks; they are comfy, to a point.  No long walks for these heels, but standing is fine.  They will be good for short errands or going out to dinner, coffee and such.  Nonetheless, I like them – a lot.

The block heeled VanEli Morel sandals are from Marmi Shoes, my favorite shoe store.  They were on a one-day clearance sale for $22.22 on February 22!!  They had sold for $120 dollars, what a deal.  I call them my “frumpy” sandals and the wife agrees.  They aren’t the most stylish sandal I own but they sure are comfortable and versatile.  The heel is a stable 2 ½ inches and the uppers hold my foot securely.  I have worn them for many hours without any problems.  Even tho they be “frumpy” I like ‘em too!

Both are pictured with my Vegas pedicure from the spa at Caesars Palace.  The gals there do a wonderful job on the nails.

Have fun in your heels, I do.  Smile….   sf

    SF,

Those are not frumpy looking sandals. I like them and I have a few pairs like them but with higher block heels. BTW I like your pedi, a nice pastel blue perfect for Easter and spring wear.

  5. I too feel the same way about a new pair of heels. If I have bought them at a store then most likely I've already tried them on. If I ordered them online I usually can't wait to open the box and try them on. Then I usually walk about the room to get a feel for them. It usually only takes a few minutes of wearing them to see if I will keep them. I've always been excited about a new pair of heels even though I been wearing heels for over four decades. Just my thoughts.

  6. As I said on another post I will wear sheer hose (Panty, Thigh-Hi and Knee Hi's) with my pumps, except when it's hot in the summer. For open toe shoes or sandals it's always bare. I like Cat also like to wear fish net hose!!!!!

Always go bare with pumps, a better look.

Not always going bare is better. I like to wear sheer hose with my pumps in cooler weather. When it's hot out then bare is my way to go, When it's real cold out (no snow) then it could be opaque tights with my pumps. Just depends on the conditions.

I'm not sure if these 'slides' are your style, melrose - heels not nearly high enough? - but interesting that ASOS is doing them in sizes to UK12.

I like sandals but they both seem to combine clumpiness with being a tad too femme, so not for me.

These are styles that I love to wear, as I have many pairs of them in various colors. I even ordered two new pairs from Penny's one in an orange color and one in a bright pink. Wearing these sandals, I always have a nice pedi usually in red but bright pink for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

  9. Sure a guy can wear those boots. Go ahead and get them. Enjoy wearing them. I would wear them in a heartbeat especially with a pair of leggings to show them off. Those boots need to be seen!

Bluejay....  Those sandals look fantastic.  Hope you enjoy getting out in them.  I also like Nine West shoes and sandals, FYI most Nine West styles go to a gals size 12 which is nice.  I just ordered a pair of sandals from Nine West, style “Popi” a thin heeled thong/ankle wrap, should arrive this week.

After seeing  the style you have, I am tempted to get that heel as well, after all, how many heels can a guy have?  Can anyone answer that?  ha ha

Enjoy your new sandals......   smile....   sf

A guy can have as many pairs of heels as he wants. I have so many pair of heels, both shoes and boots, that I lost count. When I see something new and I like it , I just buy it.

  11. My new sandals,  I got from Nine West.https://ninewest.com/products/glitz-block-heel-slide-sandals-in-black-crystal . I can't wait for warm spring weather to wear my new sandals out and about. They have lots of bling and I will definitely be getting a new pedi in my favorite red color to show them off. I already know that my lady friends will be highly impressed with my new sandals. I love Nine West shoes and boots as I have many pairs of each.

Yes, you will get used to the extra lift.  I keep my heels to the 2 - 3 inch range since I am too tall already at 6 feet, and don’t want to scare the kids - ha ha.

But I do like the look, feel and style of a nice heel.

Hope you enjoy your shoes, I do.  sf

I'm not as tall as SF being 5'10", but I'm not comfortable wearing any heel height over 4". The perfect heel range, for me is 3 to 3-1/2". I don't care to look taller. I just love to wear heels.

    Stand-by for my next post......

As best I can remember, I bought the “wrap thong” sandals pictured above (and below) in the early 1970’s when I was around 16 to 18 years old.  I was in high school or just beginning college.

For as long as I can remember, I have been attracted to gals shoes.  As I got older and became more mobile, I would go “shoe shopping,” on my bike and then later by car, now that I had a drivers license.  I just liked looking at shoes, and wanted a pair of my own.

Two other shoe-shopping incidents I remember distinctly.  I found a pair of really nice looking all leather Bernardo strappy sandals with a low wedge heel (wish I had a pic to show).  They looked really “cute” and I wanted them, but again they were at a full service department store, so I had to interact with the sales folks.  I was nervous, but gathered my courage and went inside.  I was assisted by a female clerk who could have been my mom.  She asked if she could help and I pointed out the shoes, and told her the size – 10 - I believe.  She came back holding the sandals and said that the largest size they had was a 91/2, which in those days was not unusual.  In addition it seemed, at least to me, that shoes back then ran smaller than they do now.

She handed me the sandals and said for me to try them on, and I did.  Sadly the shoes did not fit, they were a bit too small.  I was disappointed and the sales lady seemed genuinely disappointed too.  She made some comment about the sandals looking very nice, but telling me that was the largest size available.  She did ask if there were any other shoe styles around that I liked, there were not.

I gave her back the sandals and she apologized that a larger size was not available.  Even though I was not able to get the shoes I wanted, I really appreciated the time, patience and understanding this nice lady gave me.  I am sure she saw that I was nervous, and probably wondered why a young guy like me wanted a pair of womens sandals, but nonetheless I much appreciated her gentle demeanor.

The other “shoe purchase incident” was around the same time, early 1970’s at a Payless Shoe store (I miss Payless).  Payless was one of the first shoe stores, at least in my area, to go with a “self service” sales model, none or minimal interaction with the sales staff.  I found a lovely and unique pair of “wedgie and strappy” thong style sandals in my size 11.  I took the shoes off the rack and began trying them on.  One of the sales ladies, again she could have been my mom, rushed up to me and almost grabbed the sandals from my hand.  With a smile and a kind voice, she said something on the order of, “Honey (I love it when they call me honey) these are ladies shoes, the men’s section is over there.”  I was nervous and a bit shocked by her reaction, but could tell that she was honestly just trying to help this poor misdirected kid.  I told the lady that I knew they were ladies sandals but I liked the style and wanted to try a pair.  She smiled, acknowledged my comment and let me be.  She returned a few minutes later and asked if the shoes fit and even said they looked nice on me, and pointed out a few other styles that did not interest me.

I put the sandals back in the box, the same lady completed my purchase and she asked with a smile that I come back again.  As with the first experience, I appreciated that sales lady and her understanding and compassion.  Those Payless wedgie thongs were fun to wear, but unfortunately they wore out early and went bye bye.

Enough of my past experiences, but fond memories to share.  It was these and other early on life experiences that validated my fondness for women’s shoes.  And to make things “worse” in 1995, the “high heel bug” got me bad.  Why do I and others here have this attraction?  For me, I don’t know, it is just the way I am and will always be.  And actually I sort of like it!

In conclusion, here is a pic taken today, of the flat “wrap thong” sandals that started this tome.  I actually found them hiding in my closet.  They may get some use this spring / summer, even though heels have taken priority the past 20+ years!  Sometimes flats are fun to wear too.  Smile….   sf

Nice looking sandals but I still don't remember them, SF. BTW, I like your pedi, anklet and toe ring.

Glad your in a warm climate where  you can wear sandals these days. The only heels I'm wearing these days are knee boots or booties with fleece lined leggings, fleece tops,  warm coats and jackets, with knit hats and gloves. Last night I wore a pair of grey suede, knee boots with black fleece lined leggings, black fleece top with my women's fur coat in white, grey and black colors. I even got my black fur hat out of storage.  I got a couple of nice compliments while shopping at Penny's, last night. Incidentally I bought a pair of Liz Claiborne, brown suede booties, that were 50% off with an additional 25% off coupon. I liked them so much that I ordered the other color in black suede, as none of the stores has my size 11 in stock.  I should have them in a week. https://www.jcpenney.com/p/liz-claiborne-womens-ellison-chelsea-boots-block-heel/ppr5008140337?pTmplType=regular&deptId=dept20000018&catId=cat100240063&urlState=%2Fg%2Fshoes%2Fall-womens-shoes%3Fs1_deals_and_promotions%3DFLASH%2BSALE%21%26id%3Dcat100240063&productGridView=medium&badge=onlyatjcp|widewidth&cm_re=ZB-_-GALLERY-WOMEN-_-VN-_-WOMENS-FLASH-SALE-_-SHOES_4

  14. Nice pic mirose. Just a question, what are you wearing for pants under your top coat. Are you wearing skinny jeans or something else. Last night when I went to my 6 PM church service I wore a pair of blue knee boots with navy blue leggings. My coat was shorter and one could see that I was wearing leggings. I like wearing leggings and I do so alot, whether with boots  or shoes. Heels of course.

  15. No  I do not have large pinkies. My nail artist can do extra fine detail with her tools and BTW she usually takes pics of her work but was too busy last Thursday to do it.

Nail pictures get taken down @SF.

You must have large pinkie nails to get that much detail on them.

My fingernail artist moved back to her hometown, so I have only been getting clear gel on my split nails to hold them together.  Right now I am training my pedicurist to do art. She is getting better with each visit and looks forward to each new (design) challenge I bring.

Right pinkie Christmas tree with many colors of ornaments. Left pinkie she did a candy cane over the white base. Looked great got several compliments on my Christmas mani.

Nice red pumps for the Christmas Holiday. I wore my red patent booties with 3-1/2" small block heels. Got several compliments out shopping and at church. I also wore a new pair of Naturalizer pumps in silver that was also a great addition to my red and black ensemble.

Wore several pairs of Christmas leggings out too, got lots of compliments.

  18. I like those lime green over the knee boots. I have a pair in the same color in a knee boot style. I wear them around Christmas holidays and again for St. Patrick's Day in March. I got them on Amazon. The brand is Funtasma and they come in a rainbow of colors up to size 13. They are not a high quality boot, but if you're looking for a variety of colors they fit the bill, for that occasional wear. I have them in at least 8 different colors.
