  1. MackyHeels,

My sweater in a light tan color, was a long tunic length. It was a man's which went to just above the top of my knee. That's the length I look for to wear with leggings. It was almost like wearing a dress,  it was a turtleneck style. As far as my leggings, they were a heavy fleece lined, in a dark brown color, not the sheer look that you have in your pics. And again maybe my appearance on Friday in church, didn't start any controversy, as they see me in heels regularly on Sunday, but then I'm usually in men's attire, wearing dress pants with a, shirt and tie, with suit coat. I even have lady friends that look to see what I'm wearing, especially my shoes, at church. There are even some men that look down at me to see my shoes, as I'm big on color and not the standard black and brown boring colors, for men.

On Easter Sunday, I wore navy dress pants, light blue dress shirt, with a floral print tie and a very light grey patterned suit coat, with a pair of ,"Soft Style" (Hush Puppies) cross hatch, navy patent pumps, with 3" chunky heels, with a silver trim outlining the heels. I wore sheer navy knee-hi's. I also was able to show off my Easter mani, which my stylist colored in pastel colors on my little pinkies, with a clear gel on the rest of my fingers. The mani wasn't that noticeable, but I did get compliments on both my attire and mani. I left the leggings wearing to my wife and daughters, on Sunday.

Tonight, to celebrate Dyngus Day, a traditional Polish celebration, the day after Easter, I went out wearing the colors of Poland. I wore red leggings, white long length sweater tunic top, with black puffy down vest, with my black knee boots with 3" chunky heels. I looked like several of the men, Polish dancers, that were similarly attired. However I have no Polish in me, but I do like to celebrate with them.

  2. Just to let you know that tonight I wore brown leggings, tan, long length sweater fleece, , with a brown puffy down vest, and my Aerosoles brown booties with  3-3/4" chunky heels. First,  I went to church for Good Friday, services. Not even an odd look at my attire. Stopped  at Kohl's, got a comment from a clerk friend of mine that works there. She said, "I like your leggings with your ensemble, everything goes well together".  I thanked her for the compliment, as I checked-out. I also showed her my new mani, with the Easter deco art on my little pinkies, with a clear gel on the rest of my fingers, that I got this afternoon at the nail spa, along with a recolor of my pedi, in a brilliant red color. Now it's got to warm up, so I can show off my renewed pedi with a pair of nice sandals. Hopefully, that won't be far off. It's supposed to be below normal temps here for the next week or so. Oh well.

HAng in there bluejay! Spring will eventually arrive in the eastern Great Lakes. It's taking its sweet time arriving in Wisconsin but that does not stop me from wearing sandals. I have just one pair of leggings but have only worn them twice. Worn with jeans and wedges both times. I realize leggings look quite nice with skirts or dresses but I have not done that. HappyinHeels

Yeah, I know spring will be here, soon I hope. Our Easter forecast is calling for some early morning snow, with temps in the mid 30's. Not my idea of sandal wearing weather.

Tonight I went out wearing black knee boots, 3" block heels, black leggings, teal colored long fleece top and matching teal puffy down vest. I even went to church first, before shopping. No one paid me any attention to what I was wearing. Stopped at 3 stores to shop. Again no one paid me any attention. So bottom line, guys wear your leggings, your fears are only in your head!

I have been flirting with the ideal of wearing a pair of shorts over my leggings. Maybe with knee high boots.

I planned to wear my VSX leggings while kayaking today. But after unloading the kayaks I had to take them off and change into a pair of shorts, it was just too hot.

BTW, just order two new pairs of crush velvet leggings at clearance prices.

Wearing shorts over leggings, IMO, is a stupid look. I recently got a sale flyer from Penny's showing that look on a guy. They called them exercise tights. It's not a look for me. I wear my leggings with heels and flats too. That's a bit more feminine looking, but if you wear a long top you can pull the leggings look off, for a guy.

BTW, I probably have 50 pair of leggings and I do wear the cropped, capri and shorts styles, too. (when it's warmer out)

  4. I wear leggings all the time when I'm out and about. I usually wear them with a long top, men's or women's. I like the floral prints, and colorful colors of leggings. My wife and I have matching pairs of leggings, that we wear out together. On Valentine's Day we wore black leggings with pink and white hearts and on St.Patrick's Day we wore black shinny leggings with shamrocks on them.We got several positive comments on both days. With warmer weather coming, I will be wearing  cropped, capri and shorts styles, of leggings. I'm always getting positive comments when I'm wearing leggings, with heels, boots, flats and sandals in the summer. In my area I'm seeing more men in leggings. I see no reason at all, why men can't wear leggings out and about. I do it and so can you guys, too!!!!!!!!!

  5. I like the Gloria Vanderbilt , "Amanda" women's jeans, that JeffB also likes. They look so much better on me than, men's jeans. Even my wife says that too. I have them in about 6-8 colors and even the skinny versions of them too. The only down side to them is the longest inseam is about 34".  I wear a size 16 M length. I don't want them to hide my heels. I want people to see i'm wearing heels! For you guys that need a longer inseam , look on the Long Tall Sally website. They have clothing and shoes for tall women. You may find jeans on their site.

    mlroseplant,

Nice you got good comments on your heels at Walmart whilst on the hunt for good gloves. I largely avoid Walmart but do occasionally go to Sam's Club where we have been members for a long time. When we lived out West we belonged to "Price Club" based in San Diego which I understand got absorbed by Costco based in Kirkland, WA.

We have a chain of stores here in Wisconsin called "Fleet Farm" and "Farm and Fleet" started by two brothers and both cater to the rural customers. Anything commonly used in the countryside is often there including lots of gloves. They have the best animal feed selection, decent tools, and definitely the best fencing selection I've seen anytime recently. I would think a Tractor Supply Store may also have what you are looking for but their stores are not common. HappyinHeels

Tractor Supply is very common in my area, as there are 4 stores within 25 miles of me. I shop there a lot but they don't carry nitrile gloves, just work gloves, which are priced higher than at Walmart, where I get mine. To get nitrile gloves, I have to go to a specialty store that sells fertilizers, pesticides and spray equipment, or order them from A.M.Leonard.com which is located in, Ohio.

There are no Fleet Farm or Farm and Fleet stores, in my area. In fact, I've never heard of them.

BTW, I'm in heels in Walmart too and yes I do get compliments! Both from clerks and other customers.

  7. Hi Fellow Heelers,

Just a short post and a couple of pics with my St. Patrick's Day ensembles, I wore out over the weekend.

Picture #1  Friday Night, I'm wearing, a green sweatshirt/fleece dress, with black fleece lined tights, my black knee boots, Enrico Agrilini with 3"  block heels, white down, women's mid length coat and although you can't see it I carried my green cross body bag.

Picture#2  Saturday night, I'm wearing my St. Patrick's Day leggings, black with green shamrocks, green mock neck shirt, dark green 1/4 zip fleece top, with a black puffy down vest. For footwear I have on my Aerosole's, "City Council" black booties with 3-1/2" chunky heels. I'm carrying my black cross body bag. Incidentally my wife is wearing a matching pair of leggings, but she's camera shy.

Picture #3  Showing my mani, I got last week with the St. Patrick's Day, nail art on my little pinkies, clear gel color on the rest of my fingers.

I had a nice time out both Friday and Saturday, nights celebrating St. Patrick's day. I got several comments. My wife and I got a couple compliments on our matching leggings.

I totally agree with you.  I am in leggings almost every day or evening.  At home, shopping working out date night.   Never really posted many pics.  Pics I post are when I am dressed up out with GF and I pretty much always end up in a skirt and heels.  I will tell you I have close to 100 pairs of leggings, mostly all Lululemon. The problem is  my GF who teaches Pilates and two daughters are stocked with Lulu as well,,,,, I’m going broke just on that!!!!!!!

    CAT,

A lot of my leggings are from HUE. I like that brand. My wife likes what your GF is into, LULaRue brand. She gets 2-3 pairs of new designs and colors weekly. She probably has over 200 pairs of leggings. I buy a lot of inexpensive brands from Walmart, SteinMart, Leggings Depot, and on Amazon, too, because I wear them a few times and then change styles or colors. I love wearing leggings, with knee boots, booties, pumps and sandals. I'm not afraid to wear colorful prints or flowered patterns, as I get lots of compliments from the ladies!

Do you ever wear matching leggings, with your GF, as I do with my wife? Tonight we went out wearing matching black shinny leggings with shamrock prints, for St. Patrick's Day.

  9. CAT,

Great look with the leggings and long top. That's a look, that I sport a lot these days. In the last year I must of bought over 60 pairs of leggings and jeggings, both ankle length and capri lengths. I also have some bermuda lengths too.  I especially like the floral and multi print styles but do have lots of bright and plain colors, even some neon colors too and fleece lined leggings for winter weather  I'm already starting to buy the capri leggings for the upcoming season, in floral prints.

I'm seeing more guys wearing leggings out and about, with work boots and sneakers and yes those ugly UGGS and flip flops.  Women start  fashion trends, but us fashion forward men are ready to jump on a fashion band wagon, too. My wife and I have matching leggings that we wore for Valentine's Day and will wear for St. Patrick's Day.

So guys don't be afraid to wear  leggings out. I do and get lots of compliments from the ladies.

The Philadelphia area got hit twice by nor'easters over the last couple of weeks and caught a glancing blow from a third just a few days ago. And, lo and behold, a fourth is on the way for next week. I can't WAIT for spring!

Sorry JeffB, according to long range weather  predictions, this below normal cold weather we've been experiencing, will extend well into April. Keep your boots at the ready!

  11. Yes, HappyinHeels, I'm from the WNY, area and yes we do get a lot of snow here. However the east coast has had the brunt of the latest, Nor'Easter storms. Oh well, sandal wearing weather is only a couple months away!

I made a mistake when I resurrected my thread about not hearing from ThighBootGuy and I should of said HappyFeet, not HappyinHeels. Sorry for the mistake.

Mr. Bluejay....   Good to hear from ya....  If you ever out on the west coast, look me up.  Happy Heeling to you too...   sf

    SF,

The last time I was in CA, was about 15 years ago, in Anaheim.

I would love to get together with you, sometime, if I'm ever up your way. I believe you're in the San Francisco area. I'm from the other side of the USA.

  13. Thanks Steve, for the compliment.

The shoes that I wore on that Sunday, were not white pumps but were a royal blue patent, peep toe, with red trim on the platform. They showed off my red pedi and the waitress at Cracker Barrel, complimented me that she liked my heels! Remember?

Talk about man-bun is talk about men's fashion, it's a new men's hair style, not mine, but a man's style none the less. Another men's style now is men's skinny jeans (again not my style). Where did style come from?

So what do you do with your toes when you wear open-toed heels with your dress pants?

I let my polished toes be showing, wearing dress pants(men's). I have no problem with that. I also have no problem wearing polish on my little pinkies, too even if I'm in my work environment and yes even at church!

    Happy Heeling,

  15. I always wear colored polish on my toes year round, mostly red or fuchsia . I'm not afraid to wear polished toes when, I'm wearing sandals or peep toe shoes, out and about.  My wife's OK with my polished colored toes. I often get compliments on my appearance from the ladies or a statement from guys that would like to wear color on their toes. ie " You've got bigger XXXXX, than I have.

  16. Hello Fellow Heelers,

I can't believe that's it's been over two years since I last posted my "Heeling With bluejay" thread. I'm still very much around and I still read the posts and comment occasionally, on them. I'm still very much into heeling and do so usually, several times a week,  but don't always have the time to post.

Just to bring you newer members up to date, I wear heels, both shoes and boots. I love wearing open toe sandals, in warm weather, which shows off my red pedi.  I dress mainly as a male wearing heels in public, but do like to wear leggings when I'm out and about. I will wear skirts out , as well as a dress at times,  just like JeffB does. I'm really into colorful ensembles and I like to match my shoes with the top I'm wearing, as well as a cross body bag, that I usually carry when wearing leggings, skirt or dress and even with my men's wear clothing. My wife is OK with my heeling. We even have matching pairs of shoes that we wear out together. We also having matching leggings, like we both wore on Valentine's Day, black with red and white hearts on and will wear matching green leggings , with shamrocks on, for St.Patrick's Day .

I get a pedi every couple of months. I like the bright reds and hot pink colors on my toes. I get an occasional  mani with colors on my little pinkies and clear on the rest of my nails. For Valentines Day I had my stylist do some nail art on my little pinkies, over my red base coat. with hearts of white and silver colors along with Love and X & O symbols. My nail stylist is very talented at nail art.

I also wear lots of jewelry, rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets (summer). I'm considered a very flashy dresser and get lots of compliments on my ensembles, especially from the ladies, as I have lots of lady friends that love to see, what I'll be wearing, when I see them. They're all OK with my heel wearing and  with wearing clothing from the other side of the aisle. I like to discuss fashion and styles with my women friends. Fellow heeler,  Steve63130,  will attest to that, as we have gone out heeling together, several times over the years.

Hopefully I'll be posting some of my outings and may post a picture or two, as I've done in the past. Go back through my thread to see some of my pictures. More to come.

BTW, has anyone heard from Thighbootguy or know what happened to him?  Also Happyinheels has not posted in years, since he got married.

    Happy Heeling,

    bluejay
