  1. I do have a pair of white heeled booties and a pair of white knee boots, and I do wear them out and about! I do get some compliments from my lady friends, even though I'm wearing white during the winter months. White shoes and boots are now in season all year long. They're definitely attention getters!

  2. Hey MackyHeels,

Do you have a pair of those snake skin leggings? Do you wear them out?

I have several pairs of Hue, faux leather leggings and I do wear them out and about with heeled shoes, booties and knee boots. I recently got a pair in silver/pewter. Look great with my black Aerosoles, "City Council" booties. 3-1/4" chunky heels. and a black fleece , long length, tunic 1/4 zip. Got a couple of compliments from my lady friends. And yes, I do have a pair of those white heeled booties, too.

  3. Rebel, surely added to the Trump controversy. But the thing that pushed our agenda out in front was his high heel, stiletto,  white boots.

Apparently, there were other male entertainers there also wearing heels, according to my grand-daughter. She told me this morning, "Grampa you would of fit right in" LOL

  4. Nice look stevieuk7610. Love your white booties with the leggings. I'm also a fan of wearing white. I recently bought a pair of white, chunky heel booties. I normally wear white shoes during the summer but now days it's fashionable to wear white all year long. I paired them up with black, fleece lined leggings with a long length white sweater. Got several compliments on my ensemble.

  5. I too like to match my shoes to the top I'm wearing. I make shoe decisions both ways. Sometimes I will pick out heels to match my ensemble and other times I like to pick an ensemble, then match it up with my shoes or boots.

I have shopped at Macy's for years but never bought any shoes there.  They do have a nice selection of shoe sizes form 10 and down, but the larger sizes can be difficult to find.  On line the election of larger sizes is mo bettah, but I prefer to buy in person and not have to worry about returns etc.  And there is a very large disparity between Macy's stores as well, probably based on marketing / sales demographics.  Some stores have a decent selection, others have almost nothing is the way of shoes.

For me I prefer Nordstrom and Marmi for "nicer" shoes in larger sizes, Payless for the less expensive stuff and to experience buying shoes in a store rather than on line.

    Have fun shopping...   sf

    SF,

At my Macy's they carry a lot of size 11's and an occasional 12. If they don't have a style, I like in my size 11, the sales clerk will order them, always with free shipping. If you order online you will pay for shipping, unless you go over a certain figure. As far as Nordstrom Rack goes, we have a much smaller one nearby. I've never found any styles that I liked, because their inventory of size 11 and above is very limited. However, I found the total opposite at the Nordstrom Rack at the Mall of America, in Minneapolis. 100's of styles in size 11 and up. A virtual shoe lovers paradise. I've never heard of Marmi, must be a west coast store. Most off the Payless have closed in my area. Nearest store is 20 miles away. I shop there rarely.

My wife and I went to Macy's to buy that stuff she smears on her face. I go over to the shoe dept. I'm always glad to see they they have some classics there with nice points and a spike heel that isn't too far back and not tapered. They are made by Nine West and usually come in 3" and 4". heights. Give me a classic any day. They have a beautiful pair in chrome silver but they were size 11, darn it. No way I would get away with trying to buy them there. I've been told internet only. Got a pair in silver on the way now!

I buy shoes and boots from Macy's. I always try them on and the sales clerks, both men and women, know that I wear heels. They offer me some clearance styles to try on. I bought a lot of heels, both shoes and boots over the years from Macy's. It's always a pleasant shoe shopping experience, there.

  8. I buy from several on-line sites, including Amazon, Shoes.com, Naturalizer, Aerosoles, 6PM.com, On-Line Shoes, DSW and probably more. Sale prices are usually good. I like the free shipping and returns on many of the sites I mentioned above. Have fun shopping.

I am always wearing 2.25" cowboy boots and I've been craving some more height.  Tonight I bought a pair of shoes which I think is more undeniably my first pair of heels.  It all happened like this:  I was at Target, and I swung by the shoe section, happy to find that it was well organized with every shoe displayed on top of the shelves with boxes underneath each display.  I have been looking for a pair of slip-ons that I could wear around the house with some heel.  It quickly came across exactly what I was looking for - closed toe pumps with a wedge heel, and it was even in black.  Looking at the sizes, they had 11, so that is what I tried first.  I slipped them on, and was a little surprised how difficult it was to stand in them.  I expected the heel to be not that big a deal, since I am in 2.25" heels all day, but I also considered that I have not worn anything but boots in years, so I may have to get used to strengthening my ankles a little bit.  Even with that consideration, these shoes were clearly too big.  I went down to 10, and wow they are perfect!  I am used to running, jumping, and doing anything in 2.25" heels and amazingly the extra lift of these wedges only made me feel even MORE light on my feet.  It almost feels like being on the balls of the feet makes it easier to turn and step, like the kind of grace that a ballet dancer would have.  I checked to see if I still had more flexibility to lift my heel, and there was plenty, so I was sold.  They are a cheap pair of Chinese made pumps, but they are comfortable enough for wearing around the house, and perhaps an appropriate introduction to the next level of heels before I spend more money on something really nice.  Target made it really easy - I walked up to the self checkout, paid, and walked out with a pair of women's shoes without thinking having to interact with a single person.

As slip on wear around the house, I imagine I can just wear these without socks, which is how it appears most of you all wear your pumps?  On the other hand, when I am wearing them with black socks, they blend into my feet and legs amazingly well - so much so that I bet most people wouldn't even notice that I am wearing wedges.  On a hard floor, they certainly make a different sound than the thunk of my boots.  It sounds more like the pop of a woman's shoe.  Given that most people are used to my footwear making a lot of noise, I bet most people are too tone deaf to observe the change in my gait.  When I go out for dinner this week, I might be tempted to wear these wedges out...

I Like your look without socks. That's the way I wear my pumps, except when I wear sheer hose or tights in the colder months. I like the top of my foot showing, just like the ladies wear their pumps. I like to show off my heels. Welcome to HHP

  10. I wear a lot of white shoes during the summer months. I wear pumps, sandals and white slides. I also see other women wearing white shoes and men too, wearing white men's shoes, during the summer months. It used to be that white shoes were worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but now white is worn all year long. I just bought a pair of Naturalizer closed toe slide mules in white to wear this fall. They were in their fall catalog. I also bought a pair of white chunky heel ankle boots to wear with my ensembles this fall. I bought them last spring. I wore them once before going to all summer shoes. Not planning to wear any white this winter as the salt and snow will ruin them.

  11. Cali,

Nine West is closing most of their stores, as a part of restructuring their company. They plan on devoting their energy on shoes.probably on internet sales. As far as I know, the Nine West Outlet, in the Niagara Outlet Mall, in Niagara Falls is still open. It was when I was there about a month ago.

  12. Mudd brand shoes. That's a brand that Kohl's carries. I have a pair of Mudd loafer slip-ons with a 3" big block heel ,like the mules that Steve shows above. Their a more masculine looking shoe.

  13. MackyHeels,

I wear a lot of leggings out. I'm not afraid to wear any color. I also like to wear the prints and floral colors, too. I do usually wear a long top, but seeing Cat wearing the shorter tops and cropped jackets in his pics, I think that look would be OK with me, too.

SF, I like those sandals - very nice.  I much prefer the crossed ankle straps such as those to the single strap with the high rise back that has been beat to death for the last 3-4 years now.  I dislike the height that the back of the sandal usually gets to - looks like it never fits properly on those.  Jeeze, I wish that look would go away.  I like yours much better.

Sorry to disagree with you RonC, but I do like the look of that high back sandal, ankle strap. I just ordered another pair of them in black. I have them in white and fuchsia colors. I like to wear mine with,  women's ankle dress pants, that show off the heel. We all have our own taste in  heel styles. I know that you dislike wedges & mules and I dislike any type of pointy toe pump.

  15. SF,

I like the ankle strap style very much. I like the chunky heel look over the thin heel look. I got a pair from Clarks, "Briatta Tempo" which has the ankle strap with  crossover straps over the top of the shoe. I have them in black, with 3-3/4" chunky heels, with a 3/4" platform They are comfortable to wear, too. Again I like to wear the ankle strap sandals with ankle length women's dress pants. I'm not afraid to show off my heels at all, and wouldn't want to hide them with either boot cut jeans or long length jeans.https://www.shoes.com/clarks-briatta-tempo-ankle-strap-sandal/803556

  16. GrlNxtDr88, welcome to HHP. Thanks for being supportive of your BF's heel wearing. I have been wearing heels out publicly for many years now. My wife is OK with it. We even have matching pairs of heels that we wear out together. We also like to wear matching leggings out together, like we did on Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. There are a lot of women that are OK with men wearing heels out in public. I recently met one woman that works at Sears, that was fascinated with the heeled boots I was wearing, with my leggings.

Hope that you will post some of your heeling, too. Again welcome to HHP!

  17. SF, I just bought a pair of white sandals like the ones you are wearing in your avatar, from Penny's. Mine have a 3" chunky heel and look great with ankle pants. I like that look very much. Only problem, here it's way too cold to wear sandals out. Today we only had a high of 30*, with snow showers. Maybe in another month, it will warm up to wear sandals out and about. LOL

thanks for that bluejay. i hear you. I'm going to be in Chicago tomorrow and am wondering what I'll wear. It will not be warm. Probably will go with my gray wedge boots and my gray London Fog jacket and have some wedges in my bag for stopping by my pal's store in the city. May drop by my favorite Steve Madden store in the Bucktown area of the city as they always have the edgiest styles. HappyinHeels

Have a great trip. Here another day of snow showers, grass was covered three times, today. Oh well!

  19. Very nice HappyinHeels. I like them. Every so often, I buy from Macy's too. The Macy's I visit is very accepting of men trying on heels and the woman clerk orders shoes in my size for me so I get the free shipping. I just ordered twp pairs of Naturalizer slide sandals.https://www.macys.com/shop/product/naturalizer-sloan-wedge-sandals?ID=5395808&CategoryID=17570&swatchColor=White#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D1%26ruleId%3D78%26kws%3Dnaturalizer sloan%26searchPass%3DallMultiMatchWithSpelling%26slotId%3D1

I ordered  the Sloan wedge in both white and the gun metal (silver) colors. Got a great price on them from Macy's. No one on the net could match Macy's price!

I'm still waiting for sandal wearing weather. Today it was 59* here at 3 AM. After hurricane force winds here of 75 mph, during the day, tonight the temp is 26* with falling snow. The ground is already white. No sandals for a while yet. I still have my knee boots at the ready, with my fleece lined leggings.
