  1. Finally got a pair of heeled boots to get me started. 2.5 inch to start with. They are comfortable to walk in, easy enough I guess. Offer good support on my ankle and fit really well. There’s a good cushioned sole as well. In the hour I had them on when I got home from work I already felt my sciatica disappear and my posture increase. Size 10, so I’m not squished at the toe box.

Time now to walk in them, learn how to walk well in them, the itch to go higher is now there. 3.5 or 4 inches may be the next height.

Also need to complete the look now, black jeans and one of my metal t shirts (Metallica/Pantera/Slipknot) and there’s a really nice trench coat I’ve seen, only problem is it’s almost £700. I could use my other expensive fur liked parkas until it warms up a little. Looking for something a little classic, but with a edge to it.

I can happily report that today in work was a great day heel spotting, loads of 1-2 inch heels that are not worth it. The great thing was there was loads of ladies in 2.5-4 inch heel boots of various styles, my favourite was the girl in the 4 inch suede ones with a half inch platform, they looked great fun to be in, worn with confidence.

Can’t wait for my first outing on Monday after I spend a good afternoon in them tge next two days to break them in. They have thought me my size.

  2. I suppose we have different likes. I like booties, Oxfords and some pumps (even if I’d never wear a pump) as I like my feet to be enclosed but with a shaft of less than calf height. As for ASOS, I’m just not sure.

As long as we get what we want out of our heeling?

Got them. Lovely shoes. Only problem is they just don’t fit. My ankle is just way too wide. Gonna look at sending them back. New note, shop in person. I think the search will go on in person now and not online.

Jessica Simpson make some nice stilettoes. I have high arches so some are just too tight and they are a little pointed so I go up a size to a size 11.

I  got these two Rachines in fall 2019

    TwoRachiesHH.jpg

And last fall (2020) I got this Rienie in Navy blue...can't have too many blue suede shoes.

But you need to act fast as the larger sizes at Jessica Simpson run out fast.

I got these JS Rollin knee highs and they fitted so well that I wanted a pair in another color, but they sold out before I could.

I have read your thread a few times now @Cali, all your ankle boots and booties are just brilliant. As for the over the knee and knee highs, those don’t interest me unless they are cowboy boots.

I found my cowboy boots a few days ago as well. Nice Tony Lamas with a sedate 1 & 5/8 heel. That’s a heel that just ain’t cricket any more. Love the look of them on though!!!

Im probably going to do what you did, wear heels for a year or so under my jeans, then slowly unveil them to the world. Maybe get jeans that are a couple of inches longer in their leg length.

Be similar to the dude in this video:

That look is so hot it’s unbelievable. It would totally confuse so many folk in a crowded place.

  4. Thanks!!! Hopefully I’ll have a delivery tomorrow.

The ASOS links look okay, I’m not entirely sold on ASOS as a whole. Pleasers would be good for nighttime attire, not so much for daily wear.

Im planning on how and when to move larger in heel height. It’s not a competition as many have noted, I’d like to get to 4 inches quite quickly. In my plan I’m going to go to a 4 inch stiletto heel now, I was going to stay with a stacked heel, I now think my next move will be brave and go stiletto.

I have seen a couple of Only Makers that are nice for something higher than that. I’ve also seen a couple of Jessica Simpson boots I like. I love the look of those Missy Rockz I posted about on another thread! I am mostly interested in the Oxford and Ankle boot style. Maybe a peep toe boot when I can get a get a pedicure.

Im keeping folks updated, as I want this to be something that can help some more lurkers out there start their journey, maybe even share it with us!!!

They look stunning!!! The colour I’d be going for. Or the Street Rocks black.

What I want to know is how much noise does the heel make when walking? On one video I’ve watched, it makes a wonderful sound. How comfortable are they? Could they easily be worn for the 10-14 hours I’ve heard some wear them for! Would it be better for me to get the 3 or 4 inch  heel?

If it wasn’t for politics I’d be able to get them here in the UK.

I doubt you will need that long. Do not be surprised if you order another pair before March ;)

That would only be a good thing. I’m not going to get much time to wear what I’ve ordered as of Lockdown, once or twice a week tops wearing them out. Might be March/April before I get any decent wearing in.

  7. I probably could have gone to 4 inch heels, not gonna lie. I’d rather start with 2.5 then work up, especially as I want to be able to walk in a stiletto heel. I’d rather start small, after 6-12 months go for a 3-4 inch stiletto. I’d rather be comfortable doing so and look effortless in walking.

  8. @Cali That is exactly what I was thinking, and as someone who now has Diabetes in my bloodline I’m going to have to take things like this seriously shortly, especially since I’ve addressed my weight issue, and will continue to do so now as a lifestyle to keep it as low as possible.

Not gonna lie, since someone else said don’t rule out any style of heel, you may just like it in the future. That said having a pair of open toe pumps or something more strappy for Summer will need my feet looking good.

Might just get a clear coat put on them, make my toes look damn good!!!

    Thanks again!!!

I had a man with his girlfriend once ask me why I had heels on...I told him.  He then asked why I painted my toenails.  I told him "to blow your mind, is it working?"  He said "Yes."  We all laughed.

I love this attitude, and I’m sure it’s like having a “Your Name” tattoo on my ass.

It wins over many folk and messes with their brains. This thread is making me want to get a pedicure when lockdown eases and get gel clear coat applied. Think this will be enough for now, then go for colours when I’m ready.

This forum is amazing, thought changing!!!

You appear to be starting out right. Miles put on with the heel height you have chosen will be quite valuable in the future when you go higher.

    Thanks.

I am already planning on when/when it’s right to go higher. I’m already planning the next one pair to be a stiletto heel, then a 3.5 inch block or stacked heel, then a 3.5 inch stiletto. Going that way for the next few years until I can get in a 5 or 6 inch heel with a 2 inch platform. I’d love to go out in a pair of those Only Maker “timberland” boots or that pair of red tartan Jessica Simpson platforms I’ve seen. They seem to be quite a narrow fit, I’m gonna have to get ready for narrower widths.

The miles I put on at the moment are going to be restricted as I can’t do much as of this damn lockdown. House when I’m not working and out food shopping may be only times.

Once again, thanks to all who have contributed!!!

  12. I was reading a article in the Guardian the other day at work. They were interviewing 5 folk, one teacher was in there. Last year in lockdown 1 she decided that athleisuire wear was appropriate to wear for her zoom/teams lessons for her lessons. This time in lockdown 3 she decided that it’s not happening this time. She gets up in the morning and gets dressed, blouse/skirt and heels. She is doing it as it’s her way of telling herself it’s now time to teach. The quality of her lessons have improved, the grades of the kids have gone up, and importantly the girls and some boys have now 3/4 weeks into it have now started to wear their uniforms when remote learning. The ones wearing their uniforms at home are now more likely to have a anticipated B grade or higher. She said she loves wearing her heels at home as she can wear the other pairs that she can’t wear into the classroom as they would be seen as somewhat unprofessional.

Also, at my work, I was talking to a girl who works for the police on the civilian side, and she is saying that the heels are going back on in the office, she said this time 18 months ago heels were few and far between, the 180 women in there only had about 15% with a stiletto heel and another 15% with another heel type. Now that times are lean the heels are going back on, now it’s by her estimation that 60% or more have heels on, and the heights are increasing. More interesting she said was the guys were ditching their trainers for shoes and Cuban heels, so it’s not only the women.

The Telegraph had a article on it recently as well, they are anticipating that when the office environment comes back it will be different, you may only be in there 5 days over 2 weeks. However they also anticipate that men will bring out smart suits again, with shoes making a return. Women will want to impress with longer skirts, nice blouses, dresses will also return, hosiery will see a boom as well. They also think more women will be in heels, they say the ones wearing them now will go higher, the ones not wearing will have to.

Heels will return, not right now, but give it a good 12-18 months and see where we will be.

  13. From my post over on the men’s sun forum. I’ve got my first heels coming. After getting my feet measured, and finding out I’m wearing a larger shoe for comfort, I’m a size 10 male US, so a size 12 ladies, I done my homework and found a inexpensive brand Bella Vita and found a size 12 in a wide fitting to give me room. Now to wait the 6-11 days to get them.

    I got these boots:

Time to get some black jeans and I’ve got the look I want. Can’t wait!!!

To be honest, I can’t stop watching those videos of folk wearing 4-6 inch black leather stilettos with jeans or nice trousers. One day I’ll hopefully be able to be able to do this in public.

  15. Used to work with a girl who was amazing to me in every way. Total girl next door. Small 5ft 2in in stature. Kind of a shy Anna Kendrick, a perfect size 10 in clothing. A girl who, apart from at work where we have to wear flat soles shoes by law had a little thing she liked to collect. That item was Heels.

Spent many a shift just giggling at each other, folk hated her wee squeaky voice, I adored it. I managed to get out of her that she had 60-80 pairs in her room, loft and some in the hallway. She went on a girls holiday to Venice with her friends one weekend, her dad went into her room and built her a bespoke display and storage cabinet for them to get them out of the hall way. Her dad was a builder.

I now wish I’d have kept in contact with her as I fancied her rotten. Who doesn’t like a Anna Kendrick type girl who enjoys heels and likes to dress up properly every day. Her next job was with the Police on the civil side, she was embarrassed with her pay as she was going to earn obscene amounts of money. She was looking forward to wearing heels and nice skirts for work, all she had to wear for uniform was a polo top with the police emblem on it.

A few years back I was talking to a friend who stayed about 10 doors down from her and knew her from School, started the same day as her in our work at the time. She said she was doing okay, married with two kids. Only problem was her husband, her childhood sweetheart who was more off than on again at the tail end of her time at the workplace. That guy got jealous, started to control things a little more, got rid of most of her more “out there” heels and only kept the safe work attire ones. He didn’t like the attention she was getting. She is staying married to the clown for the kids.

If I had my time again, I’d have given her my number, I’d have told her about my feelings and hopefully would have her now. Hell, I’d even take her now. I’d build her confidence back up. What guy would not want a well put together girl who was well educated, a spirit of her own and a star that shines so bright it makes others jealous. If she was with me, I’d have shown her off, knowing that every bloke is looking at her but she would always be leaving with me, whilst they get the evil eye from their significant other.

Heels were her thing, I’d have bought her some she liked, she liked the expensive brands, but also loved her in expensive less than £100 shoes. She said she liked 3-4 inches for daily use and 5-6 for a date night or a night on the town with her girlfriends.

I have seen her once since her last day, it was in the centre of town, only for a few seconds, what a sight. Nice 4 inch black Oxfords, nice stockings and a wee black skirt with a silver hem detail, and a yellow tank top under her signature purple knee length wool coat. Saw her that day and had my breath taken away, if only that cashier didn’t drop that 50p he was giving me as change.

I often think about her, as I know she could have been mine now. If only my own family was healthy at the time as I did feel guilty about not giving her my number as my mum was in the end years of her life at the time. If anything now, I’d have gone for it. I have made my peace with myself now.

The thing I now realise is that cliche, Carpe Diem, seize the day, go for it, and never look back. Sad thing is I will always look back on her and think of what could have been.

  16. To be completely honest, I’ve been thinking that I should do a 5K walk in heels for charity? It would give me an incredible amount of time walking with them and would give me time to adjust almost free. It would also give me time to order maybe 3 different types of cute heel.

I am physically fit as I do 7Km walks in all weathers in normal speed running shows.

Only thing I’d need to change is the route as my route has many changes in terrain at present. After, it would be worth still wearing them as not doing so would be ouch for the body.

    Thanks one and all!!
