  1. I’d take ankle boots to be honest. Quickest and easiest way to get through security. Knee high boots would be okay, as long as they can be slipped on and off quick and efficiently enough.

Enjoy your trip - but I hope not literally!   And please let us see a pic of your outfit when you tell us how it went.

You might want to wear the boots tomorrow if you go out to vote - you will be in good company with an assortment of strangely-dressed individuals (quite apart from the candidates)!

Thanks, will enjoy it. I’m working tomorrow, so can’t wear them. Bloody flat safety shoes for work 😔.

Don't get me started on politics, I can rip a hole through them all.

  3. Recently, it’s been “cold but dry” of 14-16c, that’s warm for us so summer, only had rain for 3 days in past 4 weeks. It’s to be 17c on Monday, dry seemingly.

Im Scottish, so don’t mind the cold. I’m feeling the Khaki, heels and a hoodie. Look good, but relaxed. After all, we have ditched the masks and all but gone and put fingers in our ears and gone LaLaLaLaLa to the pandemic.

This look will have the heel fully exposed. No where to hide. A confidence bump. I’m gonna drive in them too, so more new heeling experience.

  4. I’ve refrained from posting recently, things in life et al.

Been searching for a second outing in heels recently. I am now planning a second outing in my new OnlyMaker Cowboy Boots with the 95mm heel next Monday. Got to go to the opticians. Looking to go the whole day in heels, or as long as I can.

Now to plan the outfit. Black slim jeans or khaki trousers.

Tell us how you are liking these boots, I am considering a pair...Thanks don

Was gonna wear them to a gig. Didn’t, as I just couldn’t stand as I’d killed my legs with exercise that day, didn’t feel comfortable.

Been working constantly since, so no time really.

    Might have time soon.

They look good!   But can we please see some close-ups of the boots?   I assume size is USW12 = UK10?

They are UK10/EU43/US12. They fit like a glove, they suck your feet in and are snug and secure. Am going to wear them tonight for a gig, fully exposed heel. I feel this will give a confidence lift and more!!!

  7. New OnlyMaker cowboy boots today. Size 12US and the fit like a glove. Really comfortable and easy to walk in for a almost 4inch heel. Can’t wait to wear them, maybe exposed and not with jeans covering the heel. That would be a massive step and confidence bump.

I'm at a lower latitude then Virginheels who is in Scotland, which is not known for its warmer weather.

He is right, we are not know for our sun, it often rains in some form here 200 odd days a year. I am at 55.85 north, same as Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan and Shamattawa, Manitoba plus a city where there’s a bunker baby right now Moscow I believe.

Had about 70 sightings today at work, from 2 inch block and kitten heels to 4.5 inch stilettos.

Im thinking it may be cultural and economic, we may be different. There’s a phrase, when times are tight, heels and hemlines go up, when times are good the hemlines and heels go down. And with the pandemic entering endemic stage and the inflation rate here at 7%, probably 8.5%+ once Russia/Ukraine is factored in, folk are going back to more traditional ways.

The first two are okay, the third is the U word. I know that the wearing of heels is back on the rise, it’s still like 7 in every hundred here. However more women are going back to a heel, one woman said it’s not until April she goes back to the office, but wants to get used to them, and she feels more comfortable in them than trainers. She is predicting that heels will go back on in a big way in the office and other environments as well once most of the restrictions are lifted. She said that it’s the 18-23 year olds leading the push, with the 30+ next. The 23-30 group will have to learn to walk in heels as they are mostly the trainer life. There’s some market data supporting this as some manufacturers have seen a spike in demand for heels, not only from women but men too.

  10. Thanks! They are the long term focus. The focus now is to get confidence in what I have and what is going to come my way in terms of block heels. Get used to them in 4 inch height right now. Then once I’ve got them down, then in a time in the future move to a stiletto. They are just too damn cute not to. First to a stiletto boot then to a pump or Oxford style.

Im planning on wearing heels with jeans, plain old mens jeans. I’m not interested in skirts or dresses. Heels then all male attire, with a more sort of androgynous style in there.

It took me years to get used to being tall. Ok, let me rephrase that. It took me years to get used to being normal height. Sometimes it still doesn't feel right.

That’s the thing. I’m above average for height, I’m 5ft 10in. The average here is 5ft 8in. The problem is that I’m loosing my battle with gravity early, plus the amount of walking/running I do is compressing my spine the way it does with long distance walkers/runners. I was 6ft, maybe just shy. Now I’m smaller. I want a little extra height, plus some. And I know it will help me with back pain, as it did recently. It won’t feel right for a long time, but eventually it will. From what folk have said and from what I’ve read, once I get into a pair of stiletto heels, it feels more natural in a odd way.

    This made me laugh.

I remember when I switched to wearing women's shoes.  I was so happy to find shoes that fit my type of feet. I purchased my first booties with 2 inch heels. Remembering being afraid of the clicking noise.  But my friends notice right away I was now taller.  Especially true when you are eye to eye with them, then all of a sudden they are looking at your nose.

That’s what I found funny when I was out in heels recently, the extra height was great, empowering. However getting used to being higher from the ground was fun.

If I like the OnlyMaker fit, I’ve got lots of nice shoes in the wish list ready to buy, maybe after a few months of me wearing the ones I ordered.

  13. That’s great to know! Currently awaiting on my order from them. I’m intending to use what ive ordered to get folk used to me in a 4 inch heel. Once that has happened I intend to buy 2 more pairs of heels.

I really hope I get them in the next 3 weeks, I have my first gig in over 2 years and I want to wear them for that, for like 6/7 hours. How comfortable are they???

Virgin heels, Well done on first public outing. Skies didn’t fall, as correctly predicted by our members, and you grew as an individual. Life is a one-shot privilege at adventure and learning so do as much as you can while health and imagination can propel you there. HappyinHeels

Thanks!!!! I’m now so long out of them now, I’ve got the itch. I love learning a new skill, and this is one. I may have ordered something over the weekend. Going to have to get a slot at the podiatrist soon as I’ve got a funky ingrown spike again. I now know that to wear heels, being comfortable at the toes is key. I’m looking forward to my first pair of stiletto heels, once I’m comfortable to move into them.

  15. As I work in front line public facing customer services I can say this is true;

Older ladies are wearing their single soles, more, 2-4 inch in height generally. The younger generations are wearing their platforms, 3-5 inches with a 1-2 inch platform.

However the abomination of a flat form and crepe sole brothel creepers are in fashion too, alongside chunky soled flat boots.

Trainers are still the majority of shoes, however heels are back on the style menu for many women. Now their office is open, and social, entertainment and recreation are a thing again.
