  1. For me it's good to take a break from boots once in a while. Since I have found more courage to wear boots outside, I have to say I get a little sad to see summer coming. Either it's too hot for boots, or it's a little unsettling for me to wear boots when everyone around me is wearing flip flops and sandals. I plan to take this summer off, with maybe an occasional boot wearing. Right now I am getting as many boot outings as I can this spring, before we get summertime weather.

  2. Earlier this week, I wore my tall black cowboy boots, jeans tucked in, on and off throughout Tuesday. Since it was a cold rainy day, several employees wore boots. I started my day in boots for about 1.5 hours, even worked a few desks looking at their computers. Spent mid morning in dress shoes, then changed back into cowboy boots to go out to lunch. It was a slower day at our office, but it was a little nerve racking spend the last half hour in boots, wondering if I would be called out or teased. Left for home, since I started early, my supervisor got a passing glance at my boots through the glass door entrance. This is no big deal since she has seen me at a few outside company events in my cowboy boots. Still waiting and wondering if I could manage to wear them for an entire day. But at least I spent a good 2 hours in boots in a work day, which is a record for me.

  3. Today we went out for our usual Saturday outings. Started out by pumping gas in my new tan boots to break them in, followed our martial arts class, then a movie afterwards. Changed into my brown boots from my avatar. After our movie, we went to a CD exchange store to buy some music, first time going to a music store in high heeled boots. Went out afterwards to a picnic area with a lake view. Headed for home to call it a day. Later on towards evening, my actually asked me if I wanted to go heeling to get a bite to eat. I was very surprised, considering she only tolerates my boots. So I couldn't say no, I put my brown boots on again, she put on her black ankle boots. We went out to a fast food restaurant across town, and on our return, she asked me if I had good boots outings. Yes, I enjoyed heeling all day in boots with my wife, all in all good outings.

  4. Still breaking in my new boots. Today on my way home I changed into my tan boots, jeans tucked in. Went to a gas station, at the pump next to me there was a slender young woman with a one piece mini skirt top, dark hose and black over the knee boots, she was dressed to kill. As she walked out of the gas station, I started to walk in to pay, we both glanced at each others boots with mutual admiration and made eye contact. This is my kind of outing.

  5. At last I can post to this thread with my new boots that I purchased on Ebay. These are my vintage 80s style knee high boots with 3.5 inch heels, made in Italy, brand is Cappellini. They are a size 40 EUR, US size 9, straight leg shaft, pull on style, no zipper. Had to break them in as soon as I could, started with a quick trip to a grocery store, bought a quick one item purchase and walked back to my car for a quick three minute outing. Everyone was too busy shopping to pay attention to my boots. They are tan (camel) color and they are my lightest color of boots to date, so it is a bit of a contrast with blue or black jeans. So far that brings me to a total of three pairs of boots. It may be a very long time before I find another vintage pair that I like. Who knows where my new boots will take me, off to new heeling adventures.

  6. It just came naturally to me to wear high heel boots out in public. For the first five years of my heeling, I had just one pair of black knee high vintage 80s style boots (straight leg shaft) with a 4" heel. At first it was just a thrill to wear my black boots on at all behind closed doors in my bedroom, then progress to taking a few steps out into the living room and kitchen when no one is around. I made it even further by walking down the hall outside of our apartment to dispose of trash down a garbage chute. Then I took a big step by venturing out of the apartment at night when there is no one around, going out in small trips to remote areas. It was simple outings, like returning a tape rental to a local Blockbuster Video, ordering fast food from a drive through window, or going to a post office lobby after hours and mailing letters or buying stamps from a vending machine. I became even more daring by paying utility bills in person at my local cable company or auto insurance office during their last hour before closing. Since at that time of night, I would be all alone or one other person waiting in line.

For the most part I kept challenging myself to go further and go more in public. It was never enough to keep my boots indoors. In more recent years with my current boots from my avatar, I ventured out during early morning to pump gas, or drop off shirts at my local dry cleaners, or a quick purchase at a convenience store.

As of this last week, I made my most daring outings in boots in broad daylight with my wife by taking her to Starbucks, post office, crowded grocery stores, even the movie theater. So there is still room for more adventurous outings. But so far my wife is my only family member that knows about my boots.

So it came to me naturally but this web site has encouraged me to keep on heeling. As mentioned by other members, it takes time and practice. Take small steps at first, and over time your courage will increase.

Thought I would add taking my car to an emissions test center as an idea for a starter outing in heels. Today I went to get my car tested for emissions after work, near closing time. Wore my usual jeans and brown high heel boots. There was a short wait time since it was near closing time. Their employee walked up to my car, then had me open my car door to look in, he obviously saw my boots, and said "oh" as if he was surprised to see my boots, but instead he was simply looking for some vehicle number information. I was escorted out of my car and into a small private waiting booth. So I sat down with my legs crossed while waiting for test results. After that I was escorted back to my car. He was more occupied with testing for emissions than staring at my boots. All in all it was a quick 5 minutes of boots in public, but still a rush of excitement.

  7. pardon me kittyinboots, but I think that the site is named "people of walmart" (unless the name has changed that is) but all that aside, I've seen it- it does tend to make fun of some types of people but you'd have to go through the site to see if theres any guys in heels type of stuff (I have yet to see any my self mostly grossly over weight persons wearing rediculous fashions or somthing along those lines.) cheers:smile:

Yep, that's the one. http://www.peopleofwalmart.com . Thanks demoniaplatforms for bring it to my attention. I think I will go back to HHP now, cheers :silly:

  8. It's too bad that there is a "Friends of Walmart" site and that people take pictures to post of people just to make fun of them. I would avoid heeling at Walmart because of this. I also wish people would be more courteous and ask if it is okay to take a picture, rather than shoot away. But TBG, if you were ever back up in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, USA on seminar, I would sincerely ask to take a picture of you out of admiration for your boots. Cheers.

  9. You are not alone scrappycoco. I had a similar outburst from my wife, early part of last year, but after our first heel meet together last November, for some reason she came around with a little acceptance, and near encouragement since we have enjoyed just recently dining out and going to movies in our high heel boots this winter. Our last few outings were planned in advance. Not that this is any solution but I found a good compromise with my wife, she would not mind my boots, as long as she was taken out to places she wants to go. That plan of course will not work for every relationship. I also agree with our members, that hopefully some sort of compromise can be reached. Hope things work out for you.

  10. After an early morning of heeling and changing into regular clothes for work, I spotted some thigh high boots in public (very rare). During my lunch break, I visited CDW (Computer Discount Warehouse) to visit their technology expo. As I went into their showroom a young slender lady was walking in front of me wearing a white winter coat, black leggings, and really nice black thigh high boots with 4-5 inch stiletto heels, and with a V-cut in the back for that folded down pirate look. She wore them at their full height. What caught my attention was this man standing in the lobby, giving her the evil eye. I thought to myself, well she is covered and with her husband. I thought it was a very nice look, so I casually wandered around the show room to get a passing glance at her face. Sure enough, she was as attractive as her thigh high boots.

I wish I could have changed back into my boots, but one of their sales reps knows me by name since I pick up computer supplies for our office.

So Thighbootguy it looks like you are not alone with the "evil eye" stares. Even attractive women get negative reactions. But it was a good sighting, seeing a good pair of thigh high boots brightens my day.

  11. It sounds like you and your wife are simply enjoying each others company, and the boots are just the shared interest that people find with each other, and are just secondary to the fact that you guys are enjoying being with each other...

Dare I ask how/why you talk to your wife online? I know people text their wives, when they are out and about, some even when in the same house together, but talking online must mean you probably work away a bit?

Yes we do just simply enjoy each others company. She is just showing a little bit of support for my heeling.

We kind of stumbled across the idea of sending IM messages to each other online. We were watching the movie Something's Gotta Give. In one of the scenes, Jack Nicholson was sending IM messages back and forth to Diane Keaton from their laptops despite the fact they were in the same house, just different rooms. We caught on this idea and actually found it to be a fun way to communicate. Sometimes it's fun to see our thoughts on written text.

    Cheers :silly:

  12. My wife has gone from disapproving to "almost encouraging". Today was another Saturday afternoon at the movies. We had already planned out that we would go out in heels after our martial arts class this morning. She wore her new black ankle boots and I wore my usual brown boots. We really laughed when we saw Just Go With It at the cinema. Purchased our popcorn, people saw my boots but no one really noticed or cared what I was wearing. After our movie we headed for home. My wife said "Good boot outing?", and I said yes of course. But I was a little shocked that she actually asked that. After several outings and one heel meet together, she appreciates how much fun going out in boots can be. She even asked again "good boot outing?" again when we chatted online, which sounds like encouragement to me.

  13. After spending an hour or so reading posts by open and courageous heelers, I was inspired to summon the strength to go out in public wearing heels. Not real high (3"), not very long (20 minutes), not very public (buying gas), and at night, but it was an exciting, if timid start. Thank you for posting.

Thought I would give an older post (12-7-09) for ideas for beginning heelers

It seems as though we've had similar small steps to gradual outings in heels. Congratulations and happy heeling to you, verisimile.

  14. Wore my tall black cowboy boots during our Super Bowl party. I dressed in all black, dress shirt, tight riding jeans tucked in my boots, and it was okay to wear my boots since it snowed a bit and it was a smaller party of 7 people total. But I always enjoy a good party in boots. My wife's family is already used to seeing me in cowboy boots, and no comments after wearing these boots for years.

  15. It was practical for me to tuck my jeans in my cowboy boots, especially with a blizzard and over a foot of snow these last few days. Yet I always tuck them in or wear skinny tight fitting denim riding jeans. I always show my avatar boots fully exposed. On a side note, at the last heel meet I attended, one of the ladies at the shoe store said to Johnieheel that it's "cheating" if you hide your boots with jeans over them. Unless they are ankle boots, I say tuck them and wear your boots proudly if you prefer that style.

  16. With a blizzard starting today, I wore my tall black cowboy boots again to the office temporarily. One of the young nice looking ladies who wears boots almost daily asked me if I was getting ready for this snow, I said that I was getting dressed for the weather. She looked over and noticed my cowboy boots and said "Oh cool, look at those boots." I was thrilled that she actually liked those boots on me. I walked over to her cube with my boots still on and coffee in hand and chatted a bit before the office staff started arriving (daring for me).

After spending most of the morning in dress shoes, my supervisor told me to go home early since the blizzard was starting and everyone was leaving. I stopped by the restroom to change into my tight fitting black denim riding jeans, so that I could just pull on my boots without tucking in. As I left a few other workers saw my boots with no comments, perfect. Spent about 1.5 hours in slow traffic in my boots. Snow was very high, jeans tucked into boots was very correct for this weather. This was a good day since a pretty girl liked my boots.

  17. Definitely not practical, there are better things for spending your money. Even a few millionaires and billionaires would say that price tag is outrageous, which is how some people stay wealthy, not spending on status symbols. Having said that, let's just dream a little bit. If those boots were some magical, futuristic pair where you could go heeling in public without negative stares or comments, adjustable heel height, shaft, toe, shape, color, style, etc., and it was indestructible in every way with an anti-theft feature built in. Throw in some futuristic comfort shock absorbers for all day walking, and a lifetime guarantee. Then for $8000 I would say I would start saving up for it, and open up my piggy bank.

  18. "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" Yes, of course. If rock stars like Lenny Kravitz can set a fashion trend, then hopefully men in high heeled boots will be more commonplace. Rock those boots Lenny!

  19. Today it was just another Saturday afternoon at the movies, and as my wife and I were getting popcorn, I overheard a mother/daughter conversation about my brown high heel boots. The mother said "they are probably cowboy boots", then moved along. Oh what a great day, this is exactly how I wish the world would look at them. I would go heeling more often if people just said that I had cowboy boots on. Other random trips today included picking up my watch at a battery store and pumping gas in boots on the way home. Overall it was a very good afternoon for my outings.
