  1. Generally I do not wear boots to work. I prefer to wear my boots when things are good, not stressful, and it's hard to enjoy my boots if I am stressed out at work. I do remember a rare time a few years back when I had an excuse to wear boots at work. It was a special western day theme and anyone who wore western wear could be casual. I wore my cowboy boots for the first time at work, jeans tucked in. I even lent a pair of black cowboy boots to my future wife, these were a size 8 that was getting tight on me but fit her well. We were actually given a little credit for trying to be western as a few employees went casual without much of a western look. It was one of my best days at my old office, where I was able to put on cowboy boots without looking out of place. I hope to once again wear my cowboy boots to work again someday.

  2. I voted for neutral, but with discretion. I wear my boots fully exposed on late night or early morning outings. Yet on a rare day off, I might even be daring and go to a store and make a mid-day purchase. These are short trips, like going the the post office after hours, buying gas or coffee. I go out in my boots occasionally, as opposed to every day since it is very important to give my feet a rest.

  3. I enjoy many of these bands mentioned here. Good classic rock and roll music beats most of what is out there now. I would say that my favorite band is Stone Temple Pilots. They reunited and returned to touring earlier this year. Their first two albums have a good rock and roll sound. Their third album sounds more like a Beatles album, as I also read this on a few YouTube comments on their music videos, which is OK if you are a Beatles fan.

  4. I could understand taking a pill to be "normal". But if wearing heels makes you happy, it can't be that bad. Sometimes you just need to be passionate about something, like sports. Sure you could take the pill, not buy any heels and save your money. But sometimes you need to treat yourself. If you are not living, you are just existing.

  5. Thanks JeffB, but I don't need to go to the blog to let everyone know how I feel about Crocs. They aren't good enough for landfill as far as I am concerned. They are in the same catagory as flip-flops for me.

    Cheers---

    Dawn HH

I would agree. They are not my particular style of footwear, and staring at them hurts my eyes. Although it does keep plastics from piling up in landfills, it would appeal to environmentally conscious people.

  6. Yes I would love to wear my 4" high heel boots at any time without hesitation or worry. Hopefully wearing high heels will one day become as acceptable as men's earrings. If enough men visited this site and started public heeling, that dream could be a reality.

  7. I would imagine that they cost substantially more today. Although I wouldn't mind buying another pair someday since these boots are of superior quality. I just had to add, I like those boots in the YouTube video. I also like those tight blue jeans, they go well with the boots. This is my style of wearing them. I have a few pairs of riding denim jeans with a tapered leg opening. This allows me to pull on my boots without thinking about having to tuck them in.

  8. As stated in my intro, I have one pair of black 20" Tall Top Western Ranch Boots. They arrived on Christmas Eve 2002 and cost about $292 US ($229 retail, plus shipping, taxes and Canadian dollar conversion). They cost a bit much but they do last long. For $292, I made sure I got my money's worth, and I did. I even kept track of how many times I went out in public in my cowboy boots, about 400 times to this date. Since they are men's cowboy boots, I feel I can go out in public in them with a 95% confidence level. And I received more compliments than criticisms.

  9. My first couple pairs were long term "borrowed" from a GF and from my sis. :winkiss: (not too proud of that, but I had no spare shoe hobbie money in my early teens and the urge was just too strong to see the wrong in that)

My first bought pair was from Payless when I was about 17 and I was nervous as hell. I planned it when I knew it was a slow time for them and had to take a pre-purchase quick scanning trip there to find what I wanted exactly and then when I finally commited to buying them I was in and out like the wind. :nervous:

These days, the internet is my primary shoe store, but I have ventured in a few stores recently to shop for heels. Not as nervous about it anymore, still some hesitancy lingers all these years later though.

hhboots - I have a similar story. I bought my first pair of boots at a resale shop. Made a pre-purchase scanning trip then walked in the next day, picked up the boots and walked in and out like the wind. All my other pairs were purchased through the Internet.

  10. Couldn't he have checked himself out in his own mirror at home? I mean, why did he have to do that? It's things like that which makes cops so suspicious, and messes it up for everyone who just want to go out in public and dress unconventionally. We are in trouble if cops start associating dressing unconventionally with criminal activity.

  11. I agree with Thighbootguy. For me, having tall boots hidden under jeans almost defeats the purpose of wearing tall boots. You might as well wear ankle boots since they look better under jeans. Tall boots look great with skinny jeans, since the jeans don't often bunch up at the knees. Having visited Italy, I admired seeing several women sporting the jeans in boots look.

  12. I prefer black and brown boots. Simply because they are conservative colors that go with almost anything, and they don't attract as much attention as brighter colors like red or white boots do. Yet if I find a shape and style I like, I may one day wear a pair of tall white high heel boots.

  13. Hello everyone. I was a long time guest of this web site. Started wearing tall black high heel boots, 80's style, 4 in. heels (railroad spike thick) from 1997 to 2001. Wore black thigh high boots, 4 in heels, Ellie #8868 from 2002 to 2006, retired due to wear and tear. Currently wear tall black cowboy boots, Western Ranch 20' tall tops, and I wear them jeans tucked in. I have tall brown high heel boots, 4 in. heels, straight leg (does not curve at ankle) vintage 80's style. So basically I wear tall boots, pants tucked in with a good high heel. See you soon!
