  1. So I have been expanding my boundaries lately.  Last fall I decided to show my knee high boots, not hide them under long pants (34 inch), so I got skinny jeans and leggings. I the first pair turned out to be from Express and they only had size 10 Short, so I got them, 25" inseam. They come 2 inches above my ankle, and a full 9 inches shorter than my other pants (and they have usable pockets!!). I also got three Levi's 311 with 30 inch inseams, they come to just at my ankle. Both jeans are super stretching shaping skinny jeans ;-). I have been wearing these to work most of the time now. I love how my heels are no longer hidden AND they fit inside my boots.  Last week I finally got the last pair of the Express version in black (now sold out). For Halloween I bought a fuchsia faux suede moto jacket and had wanted to wear it again. Even though I have worn my leopard sherpa to work and other places, I was still too scared to wear something as feminine as this jacket. I decide to calm down the fuchsia with black.  Black turtleneck, the new black leggings, black socks, black Delicious Elowen booties  with faux back laces. (no platform)

Once I left home there was no turning back.  I had at least 10 women and 4 men compliment me on the jacket, several of the women also loved the heels. One woman wanted to "steal my look."

  2. It's hard to push pass you personal boundaries, even frustrating at times.  Even for those of us that are full time wears, we still have those "second thoughts".  Today was one of those days. I wore a "outfit" to work that included a fuchsia color woman's jacket. (See CaliWorld for pictures.)  It was scary, very scary, but once I left home this morning I had no choice but to wear it all day.  And the world did not come to an end.

Getting frustrated in just part of growing.

  3. These are FreeBird Blaze. Have a pair in brown and a pair in black.

These are my Soda booties. I need to get new caps for my heels since I have worn these so much. Took them to England and Scotland.

  4. I thought I would give you some anecdotal observations.

Where I work there are thousands of people who work there or use the place. Of the 400+ women who work there, there are only about 10 to 12 and me in the "High Heel Club."  About 8% wear 2-3 inch heels but most at 1 in or less.   Surprisingly, several of us n the High Heel Club are size 10.

I constantly get asked if my feet hurt by the flats crowd, and then they usually say they can wear high heels because ... I think their feet hurt because they have ruined their feet with bad shoes when they were young or make their purchases with style over fit or they don't have good enough posture to wear heels.

I learn very early on that Life's too short for heels that hurt. If it does fit to begin with then I will pass it up. I will buy some that are very close and use my heel stretchers in them.

I am a regular at a nail salon where I get my fingernails done. The women all want to see my nails and my heels. Those that are leaving want to see the old ones and ask about my next design. A couple of weeks ago the conversation was about heels, and the phrase "dinner heels" came up and their definition was "the heels your wear from the car to the table and from the table to the car."

The work stations are too low for me to wear heels, so I wore some flats instead.

I've learned to tuck my legs back and lower the chair slightly for my manicures. Besides, the other regulars want to see what I have on. You just can't disappoint them.  ;-)
