  1. Very nice billyb, great story. I agree that you handled that extremely well. It's a shame the first thoughts that come to everyone's mind, at least you are convincing a few minds at a time that we are not so bad. I only hope the first time I get noticed, I can handle it as well as you did. It has been less than a year of me streetheeling and mine are rather discreet, so I have not had any encounters close to that yet.

  2. I only bought heels in a store a couple of times myself, I was just a bit older than you at the time, and it was quite nerve racking. It takes a great deal of courage to do at a store. Fortunately, the internet has been fantastic shoe store for me in recent years. Sounds like you did really well this time, keep it up, you'll feel a great relief when you do accomplish it.

  3. I had not really thought that women would be self concious about it too much, but it was very nice to see SarahLou's thoughts on this matter. Now I clearly see heels can give women attention they may not want either. As much as I want to wear heels in public, I don't want to necessarily have any extra attention aimed towards me, which is why I go as discreet as possible when I do so.

  4. Wife only wears high heels when I do to stay a proportional height to mine. She wears a very light amount of makeup and as for her clothes, I agree that she should wear only what she is comfortable in. It would be nice if she would wear things that are a bit sexier, but I wouldn't ever ask her to change her style.

  5. Being someone who only wears them part time, and still needs to have a complete men's wardrobe, I have to limit myself to the cheaper shoes, sometimes I do buy some nicer shoes, and even a couple used shoes (via ebay). I can now understand why women can spend huge amounts of money on shoes now that I have grown my collection into the double digits. Trying to remember what I have while I am not at home... Low end: 4 pairs from Pleaser (including the pair shown in my avatar) Mid-range (low end to many of you) : 4 Steve Madden Others include Kenneth Cole, Nine West, Bebe, and Coach Upper-range (probably still pretty low end to many of you :cool1:) : 1 each from Via Spiga, Stuart Weitzman, Michael Kors, and Cole Haan Your "real" upper-range: 0 :o What can I say I am a cheap guy with a fetish, not a fashion guru :-?

  6. Hmm, don't think I like the plastic look of the shoe to begin with. Also, when the heel extension is attached, it looks like the ball of the foot is up in the air and the shoe would be pretty unstable. Interesting concept I guess, maybe with some tweaks, they could be on to something.

  7. Yes, I believe you both are correct. Normally, the heel will grow with the shoe size, this is the more common practice. However, as others have stated, not all shoe companies follow the same manufacturing processes. So you are likely to find examples supporting both arguments if you were to go to your local shoe store and start comparing them.

  8. Hard to say, I had started doing discreet street heeling about six months before joining this site, but had visited the site in the past as a guest, so it might have been this site that gave me the boost to do it, I cannot recall for sure. Many people on this site give such encouraging words and have helped me to have more courage to do this. I enjoy knowing that so many here are in very similar situations and are so understanding. I have felt very comfortable posting openly here and discussing my honest feelings for not only heels, but a few other topics I never thought I would be talking openly about. I have definitely continued to push the limits of what I thought I would do in the past as a result of this site. Many here are well beyond me on their streetheeling, but I have to keep some sense of reality having two young children (and wife) and I have a rather conservative job. I don't want to cause any discomfort for my family or do anything to jeopardize my career, so I will probably remain at the quieter side of streetheeling for a few years to come anyway.

  9. I love those and have been looking into in a pair of those in the past as well (I do own a pair of standard ballet boots). However, those are far too expensive for me, about 2-4x more than I usually spend on any shoes (yes I am cheap). I know those are really unique and would be so worth the cost, but ouch. Anyway, if you do buy those, I envy you so much. :o

  10. Awesome Raymond. Very cool :o I am kind of in the same situation as crotchboots, my wife just tolerates it. She was really supportive about it for a long time, even when I started to streetheel just this past year. But I think perhaps I have been pushing too hard recently wanting to street heel more often and such. She seems to be getting a bit more uncomfortable about it. Time to back off on the streetheeling for a while I guess or do it without her. :-?

  11. The long length men's shorts (similar in length to women's capri pants) are ok, they kind of bother me though. I am always looking for shorter men's shorts which are harder to find. When I see these really long shorts I am thinking "Oh great I want shorter shorts and they are trending LONGER". I want shorts that are between mid-thigh and knee (not quite as short or tight as the early 80's men's shorts). I like to bare my legs when its hot outside, not wear shorts that rival capri pants.

  12. Agree with just about all comments so far. I have a young son, but I keep my hobby mostly hidden from him, though he probably knows. I street heel, but usually not around him. When I do, it is in fairly androgynous looking shoes. If he showed an interest in it, I would initially give him just a little bit of resistance to it, making sure he knows the issues society have with it. He can pursue it how he wants to beyond that. I would not gift him shoes or push them on him though if he did not initiate the idea.

  13. Answered man in heels... I wear androgynous looking heeled shoes in public, and often with tights for comfort, all hidden under jeans. So outwardly, I am wearing all men's clothes with a bit more interesting looking shoes than a typical men's shoe would be. I don't have enough fashion sense or the looks to pull off anything more in public. I agree with kneehigh's comments - Ben, I have seen several replies from you of this type in my short time here and have to ask, what made you so sour?

  14. I think you lot need to go outside more often. There's a whole world of real people out there.

    Or maybe that's the problem.

If you really want to have an online experience then you must check out Second Life.

I actually worked within SL, designing buildings, faces/makeup and clothes and it's quite fun. I guess that you lot would cream yourselves over it.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Wow Ben, are all of your responses so cheery? We're all just here for a distraction (mine while at work), no need to bash others. You saying that you play(ed) SL is, well, the pot calling the kettle black?

  15. Haha, those are great. :o I had played the Sims 2 with my kids way back when it came out for a short while, with the typical game play goals in mind, but never thought about playing it this way. Very clever, makes me want to get the disc back out and give it a second run. :-?

  16. No actually, I read it just fine thanks. The shoes of my dreams at the moment are womens shoes that I can feel completely comfortable wearing in public, I gave an example of one pair that are close, but still not perfect. Sure benno's pictures are very nice examples of well made, extreme heels, but I wont feel comfortable wearing anything like that outside. My post was saying that I just can't find a very good selection in the non-blatant realm that don't scream "look at me I am wearing high heel women's shoes". That range of shoes is rather limited. So yes, that is my dream shoe at the moment. I am not ready to wear stiletto pumps in public. We cant all be that bold, but kudo's to you for being there. I almost want to make my own company where I can design shoes like I want. I know from reading this forum, there are a lot of guys wearing less than obvious heels in public and others that want to wear them out but can't find shoes they are comfortable in, they probably understand my point. :o

  17. For this situation, I am very glad to have a somewhat average size foot (9.5 to 10 US Womens). However, you gents with larger size feet do have something else to be thankful for right? Well that's only if the saying is true about large feet and other body parts. :-? Anyway, hope that is not inappropriate to say... lets just say outside of this forum, some men would love to have large feet :o

  18. Happy anniversary, may you have many more years with a wonderful woman that you can share your hobby with in such a way (mine is mostly understanding, but not quite as much as yours). Sounds like you had a delightful day.

  19. I think I already own all of the more exciting shoes I could possibly want, which are all 4"-6" spike heel black leather knee high boots. I just love boots like these.

However, what I really want most at the present time, that are very hard to find actually, is a much larger selection of shoes that I can wear in public, that can be easily hidden under jeans and are less obvious women's heeled shoes. Such as the ones here. Yes, they are not as sexy as my first link, but are very stealthy under jeans for public wearing. You just can't easily find a wide variety of shoes like that too often, eBay has been my good friend in finding shoes like this.

  20. I would say it was about the age of 11-12, I cannot recall if it was my sister's, my best friend's older sister, or my mom's that were first, but each were all around the same time frame. All of those were rather brief experiences. The most memorable from my early on experiences was a halloween night, my girlfriend helped me dress up as a girl. I think I was 16 or 17 and wore some 3.5 to 4" heels for several hours, and did very well in those heels (probably a little TOO well ). That was a very cool night.

  21. So many of you people in the greater London and Brighton areas sound like there are endless opportunities to enjoy the heels. Seeing that in several threads that even men being spotted in heels in your area is not so much an extremely rare occurance. I live in a suburb of a medium-large size city in the western US. I have never seen a man here (other than myself) in shoes even remotely looking feminine, even around downtown, though a number of males in the city do wear goth rugged looking platforms, but still not very feminine looking IMO. A woman in heels here is common, though almost never over 4". Ahh well, maybe someday I will move to a bigger more cosmopolitan city.
