  1. What are the sizes at Nine West like? I really like a lot of their styles, but I wonder what their size 12 is like. I can wear a payless size 12, but I'm not sure if the Nine West is similar. Can anyone clue me in on this?

I can wear a 12 in Pleaser, etc. as the 11 doesn't work well but generally a 12 in Nine West is too big. Try it; what can you lose?

  2. Happy Feat, I haven't got to the pix part yet (hopefully before the week is out) but the Tornado boots (but the price was excellent at $41 on sale - 40% off of $69) do look good although the shoe fit for me is not so good. But just as an aside, I found out that Lord and Taylor carries up to size 11 and they have the Nine West black leather Blondey boot and the synthetic Brandy boot marked down to $49.99!!

If I didn't have the Gallivants in brown and black leather, they would have been mine! I was in the Danbury, CT store the other day and the sales rep told me that they were not one size only remnants but they had various sizes in various styles still.

I'm heading to Florida for a quick business trip at the end of the month and intend to do some serious shoe shopping on the way home! Sandals time is truly coming!!

  3. OK, I finally did it! I wore my black knit dress out for an evening! It was more fun than I could ever imagine. I combined it with black nylons and Nine West "Aleena" peep toe, ankle strap d'Orsay pumps. A great dress deserves some really sexy shoes, right?

Incredible!!! I asked you what was next and you surpassed all expectations!!!! Great look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. The tale continues! Checked out the Portchester, NY store and then the Fairfield, Ct store; both had boots but only the Fairfield store had boots in my size and then unfortunately, nothing that I wanted or stuff that I already had. However, interestingly enough and suprise, I found out that Lord and Taylor at the Danbury Fair Mall (CT) carries size 11! And they had a beautiful pair of black Blondey knee high leather boots in my size for about $50 but the Gallivant that I have is a twin!

  5. Most of my heels are in a dedicated hall closet that is not accessible (without a key). Most of the boots are hanging from padded skirt hangers and most of the shoes are in a cubby (organizer).

My wife's heels are very nicely stored. We had California Closets come in and redo the closets. All of her boots are standing up on shelves with boot shapers in them. All of her heels are nicely on shelves.

  6. I was in Portchester, NY on Sunday and stopped into a Joyce Leslie clothing store. I picked up a couple of pieces and then, unlike what I normally do, went to the fitting room to try them on.

The woman said, "You can't come in here!" I said that I wanted to try these on and she then said, "No you can't try anything on!"

So, I put the items back and left!

  7. In the walk I was walking with a professor (most were college kids) and he remarked, "Wow those are pointy!" He was wearing Payless rounded black patent pumps and I was wearing the Nine West boots. I told him that the boots gave better support than the pumps. In reality, the pointiness of the high heels are not a problem, it is the slipping due to the heel height but these boots have a good fit for me.

The walking was actually a little difficult because all of the paths had pavers instead of concrete or blacktop; then at one point we went back inside through the school itself and the floors were quite polished but no problems.

  8. Today I walked in the "Walk a mile in her shoes" walk in Danbury, CT which is an awareness walk for abused women. The participants were mostly college kids, particularly from one fraternity and the walk was entirely on the grounds of the college campus. They had shoes for loan, mostly pumps (donated by Payless - very nice of them) black, peach etc. but I had my own so I didn't use theirs. There were lots of cameras and eventually, one of the press.

This was the first time that they had sponsored the walk and as it actually was not a benefit, I made a donation and bought a raffle to help out the sponsor, a women's safety organization.

I wore my black leather Nine West Bhavino boots, 4" heels, under my skinny Levi's 511 jeans. One of the college girls asked me, "Are they boots?" When I replied yes, she said, "Nice!!!!" I have no doubt that she would have taken them from me if they were not on my feet!

What was really nice was heeling for a good cause. I would really recommend that they guys take a look at the site, http://www.walkamileinhershoes.org/index.html as it is worthwhile.
