  1. Perhaps because their website says: "At this time, we do not ship internationally."

You will find that Zappos and Payless don't offer international shipping either. So you have 3 choices: get someone over in America to buy on your behalf, (ie a forum member), Use one of the many American shipping companies that will recieve the goods and send on to you (quite expensive), or buy of Ebay US providing the seller will ship to the UK.

With my suggestion this particular seller buys up loads of large sized shoes, if she doesnt have what you want she will do her best to get them for you for a small admin fee plus the usual shipping costs etc.

  2. @barney15c, could you give some more details about the manufacturer? It's not that I'd like to buy these but I'm surprised that the Poles are making such shoes. Pretty awkward and worth checking. Maybe I'll try to persuade them to start making sth similar to little shoe box?

They are based in Lublin, the prices are very cheap but cant vouch for quality, wouldn't expect much for the money, but who knows!!! Some of their other styles are quite nice i have to say. I dont know if they are made in Poland or just imported from China.

    Trading address is:

    PPHU FASHION STYLE

    SZEROKA 54

    42-700 LUBLINIEC

    Poland

They also sell on Ebay Germany here is a link for their current auctions.

    Hope that helps!!!

  3. Talking of size 16 heels how bloody daft are these!!!! Still i suppose you have to admire the firm who makes them, catering for Size 16 footed Christmas elves / Arabian panto types!!!!! :):silly::):silly::silly::silly: Sorry they may be heels but i couldnt seriously wear these. The second pair are also upto a size 16, and are marginally better, at least they havent got a curly toe with a bell!!! Apparently the manufacturer is based in Poland.

  4. I can think of a number of Pleaser styles that go to a size 16, granted the size 15 shoes you saw are not a common size but a lot of very tall men with larger than normal feet are just as much a target market as more conventional sized male customers are and as you said these were in a specialist store. At the end of the day Pleaser would have done their homework and know there is money to be made in larger sizes otherwise they wouldnt be making them in relatively large numbers. In my experience Pleaser often come up small so a 15 might fit a 14 better. I bought a pair of sz14 leopard pumps from pleaser fit my UK10 (US12 Women) about right so they were a very small fit, and i have never had to buy that large, US13 max (Can anyone confirm this?).

  5. No problem Puffer, probably you will prefer something inbetween then. BTW boots arrived this morning and they are really nice and comfortable the block heel is very stable and solid, and styling quite masculine for a 4in heel which i like. I could have gone down a size but they are fine with a thick pair of socks. Decided to go for the tan ones in a UK10 too, may get the knee boots next month if they are still around!!!

  6. A worrying trend, as Barney says. I bought two pairs of UK11 heeled boots from Priceless (sister company to BSB - same stock) in January 2010. If anything, they are a little generous in both length and width and are certainly a comfortable fit.

Although there is obviously some inconsistency between the different models, the BSB chart translates UK11 as Eu44 - it should really be 45 - and that certainly suggests that the shoes will run small. But why state that they are UK11 when clearly they are not intended by the manufacturer (in China) to be that large?

Very good point it is putting me off buying shoes from there, a bit of a cop out on the part of barratts if you ask me when you look at the answer they gave when i questioned the sizing, i will look out for reviews from others before taking the plunge. And you are absolutely right about last seasons boots, i take a 9/10 and the sz10 boots i bought were most definately a size bigger, but it all very hit and miss. I am tempted to get these as they go to an 11 and are sherbet make which i know will fit me in a 10 so i may well plumb for them.

  7. Gound this on a site

    Men’s High Heels

Men also went through their own vanity stages, and one such stage happened during the 17th Century in Europe. Stockings, tailored coat and breeches, and high heeled shoes with red soles became the fashion for all men back in the day. Men wore fanciful stockings and high heels to achieve shapelier legs. King Louis XIV himself wore these shoes (perhaps to add to his height), and everyone else caught on the trend. Boots became out of fashion (surprisingly) and men’s high heeled shoes with elaborate ribbons, buckles and rosettes became fashionable.

Could these have been early louboutins for men!!!!!:irked::silly::smile:

  8. Nice Shoes, I have a pair of the Green American Eagle Block Heeled Mary Janes too, nice choice. I recognise the black snakeskin platform pumps as i had a pair of them from payless. Welcome to the Forums Matt!!!!

  9. Just found out the Lamborghini heels are fake :irked: Found this on the web.... GRRRRRR!!! Tim Cooper, created these ultra-fine (and likely ultra-lightweight) white and carbon fiber Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera high heels using a pair of his wife’s heels and hundreds of Gallardo images from around the ‘net. He modeled and rendered them in Modo and added the smoke and text in Photoshop for this mock advertisement.

  10. Do Payless ship to the UK?

    Andi

    Unfortunately not... 2 options:

    1. See if one our kind US based forum members will buy and ship on your behalf.

    2. Buy them of one of the US Ebay sellers (of which there are a few and that ship overseas) that buy up all the large sized payless shoes to resell.

I've done both, very sucessfully! :irked:

I have bought from this seller many times, with no problems.

  11. When i was in my last year in secondary school and used to get the bus home a lot of the 6th form girls (they had a relaxed dress code) used to wear this type of oxford shoe, almost identical to the style in the picture with maybe a colour variation (black and even grey). They used to wear them with light brown tights or socks (bleugh!) a good 20 of them every day wore these at the bus stop. Does anyone else remember them being a bit of a trend, this would have been either 1979 or 1980 and in the UK (so our continental members wouldnt remember this). I am very tempted to get a pair of these from payless as i loved the style!

  12. There was a period when Payless had very little choice in the larger sizes (12's and 13's), there was some opinion that this was due in some way to the recession / credit crunch. Well it looks like things are looking up, i found 3 styles which i thought were particulary nice and all are in a US13 , i especially love the platform boots unfortunately i don't have the ready cash to buy them at the moment but i'm working on it. The two black pairs look very designer influenced. Lets hope there are more to come!!!

  13. I had another look at the pages of that book and noticed that the shoes came from Whitby Museum. This is in North Yorkshire UK, and the museum still exists....I wonder if they still have them on show????

    STOP PRESS!!!

Apparently they do.. i found a site that reviewed the museum and it said....

"Some incredibly uncomfortable-looking gentlemen's high heeled shoes for nights out about town."

    It says it here...
