Congrats! Sounds like a great opportunity. Also, interesting to find out how your boss will do without you!

Nice shoes!!

Would I, if it was something I really wanted (and could afford), sure. Would I do it often? No.

You might want to try Howcool.com. Good luck!

LovesHiHeels, Great story. Glad to hear you were able to find somethig you liked. Please consider sending a letter to the manager of the New Look store about their poor customer service. There's no excuse for their behavior.

Steve, the thoughts and anxieties you mention are what many (if not all) of us have gone through with our significant others and potential life partners. Relax. We've all been (and will continue to be) there. Also, please tread slowly and carefullywith your girlfriend, so she doesn't get the idea that its the shoes and not her. That can put an end to it quickly. Welcome to the board!

Guys....you are fighting a losing battle! Men wearing women's heels will never be mainstream...never... There may be a time and place in a few women's lives that they would either tolerate this from a man they love or in very rare instances be turned on. Probably the same odds as the lottery if I had to guess. Before you go on the attack and bash me for my opinion, remember....you asked for it.
I personally know no woman that has ever commented to me the desire to see their man in women's heels. Other than the old "if you like them so much...you wear them" comment some women make when their BF/husband asks them to wear heels.
Jenny
Jenny, you have the right to your opinion, but here's my comment. As I've gotten older, I use one word less and less, "...never...". The same never that said in the 1960's (in the US) that men will never have long hair or wear high heels. The same never that said in the 1970's that men will never wear ear rings. If a guy (dressed in goth clothing) were to wear 3" block heel boots with a 1 or 2 " platform, people will be staring at the outfit or the guy, and not the shoes (IMHO). Just be careful with that word, "never", because, to me, it's proven to be a temporary thing.

Have you worn heels while working? Any comments? Reaction?

RPD, Welcome to the board. I'd like to hear about your heel wearing adventures to conventions. Please tell us more.

Awsome shoes!

For me it's typically same as men's (or half size larger) for sandals and 1.2 to 2 sizes for closed toe.
-
Reading this gives me a very good idea.
I think I will begin to wear a "false" wedding ring...
Just say that they belong to your girlfriend.

Might be interesting if they came to life and turned into Transformers! Or maybe it would be deadly being chased and stomped at by a giant stiletto! Maybe not.

Only my sister knows and the rest don't care.
Shoeboi,
Sorry, but I've got to ask, how do you know they don't care if they don't know? (As you stated only your sister knows)

Or maybe we could have the best of both worlds, BOTH!!!

Great purchase!!! I think you have a good plan, especially since they're leather shoes. Good luck!!

booylove, Welcome to the board! There are a few of us from the "Empire State" and many who are fans of boots. Again, welcome to the board, and we hope you post often!

Unless I was sure it was going to be a really fun shop, I wouldn't. I could probably make more (even considering the discount) at another job. Also, for me, shoes are a hobby, not a way to earn money. Having a regular job might take the fun out of it. JMHO

It is not my place to pick a date. That is up to Happyfeat. My part is only to attend a Pittsburgh Heel Meet.
Cheers---

Oops! Sorry!

1. she has zero fashion sense--she wore this faded black t-shirt with a gold tiger on it (think metal head) and rolled up the SHORT sleeves a bit on the side. No blazer, no jewelry to dress it up. It looked really tacky at the "upscale" restaurant and at the Tribeca Grand--both venues where appropriate fashionable dress code is the expectation. We weren't going to a music festival or rock concert! The first time out she wore this hideous baby doll dress with flip flops too. ugh. She also has this annoying layer of peach fuzz facial hair ...a pet peeve turn off of mine.
2. personality wise, she's a Thinker and therefore takes an objective approach to her decision making. Personally, I prefer Feelers, which balance out my objectivity resulting in better chemistry. Couple that objectivity with her "rough around the edges" mannerisms and. Well. you know. time to move on.
OK, but enough about all that. How big were her....
eyes?

I can drive an automatic in 5" stilettos quite easily. Haven't tried doing so in my Jeep yet, which has a 5-speed.
Working that clutch pedal in 5 in heels is a challenge. The last time I did it, I had to hold my clutch foot almost sideways.
Good luck and be careful!

Hey, look at it as a 100% increase! Congrats!!
