Speaking of kinky footwaer on film, anybody ever take a close look and the third Matrix movie (Matrix Revolutions)? In the club scene, folks are wearing all kind sof high heel boots and shoes- including a man wearing a pair of pony boots!!

I agree! Great shoes, unique styles and I love their semi- annual sale!

This year, for the first time, 5 of the top ten billboard hits were hip hop/rap songs. What that means is the majority of those songs are not bought by minorities (at least in the US), but by majority (or Caucasion) youths. Sadly, many of the non-positive messages are appealing to youth from across all backgrounds. "bad news sells better than good news" In the US, it seems the trashier it is, the more popular is (ex: talk shows, especially Jerry Springer)

I guess to revisit an earlier topic, could it be that the national (or world) market for higher heels in larger sizes isn't large enough (read profitable enough) for them?

It's mind boggling that manufacturers and retailers would miss this market opportunity!

A lot depends on how well you know each other, how well you all gell. Hey, it's a done deal now!

I'm beginning to think that the manufacturers aren't as blind or dumb as we think, and the demand, though growing slowly, isn't as large as we believe. If that were the case, you wouldn't be able to buy any Newport News, Fredericks or Victoria Secrets heel in larger sizes during their clearance sales and Sexy Shoes (the high heel specialty store in the states) would have stores all across the country (or world for that matter). Sorry folks, the demand isn't there.

I nominate the platform shoes show in the movie "I'm gonna get you sucka". One o fthe characters was released from jail (in 1990) after 15 years and didn't know platforms had gone out of style. He had platforms shoes with REAL FISH swimming in the shoes!!!

I'm a hetero male (not into the cd thing). When I do go outside, it's typically late at night or someplace fairly remote.

If I saw women walking akwardly in heels, I'd probably stand and watch, enjoying the show. If I summoned up the courage, I'd compliment them on their choice of footwear as that would definitely brighten their day and may inspire htem to wear heels again.

I stopped lurking and registered. I am a 40 something hetero Black (or African American) male who has had a thing for high heels for a long time! I like seeing them, wearing them and especially waering them while walking on slippery surfaces. Anyhow, I've enjoyed reading all your posts for a long while and now look forward to contributing.
