Aaron, I hear ya. Been there and the heels helped and hurt- kinda like the proverbial sine wave (or a rollercoaster for you non-techies). Till the web and I found out I wasn't the only "freak" into heels, I sometimes felt the same way you did. As an AA male, this wasn't the type of thing you wanted anyone to know about! But I have some words for you from two musicians (who unfortunately are not with us anymore); "Keep ya head up", Tupac, and "Everything's gonna be allright", Bob Marley (from the song Three Little Birds)

Why is a laundry the wrong place to find a wife? Becasue a woman who doesn't have her own washer and dryer will never be able to support you! OK, enough of the man bashing jokes.

I hope you have better luck with these than other 'Highest Heel" shoes I've purchased. IMHO, they are not well made.

We are trying to nominate one person for the whole voard. Why not take a page from the Oscars and have different categories. Say for example: Best newcomer, most posts, most posts in a month, year, greatest street heeler, highest heels, most difficult heeling (we slippery heel;s probably have that one- smile). Any thoughts?

The whole sizing thing is a mess- just ask any female her shoe size, and she'll ask you what brand/style of shoe. I typically wear s US men's 9- 10 and find that a women's 10 fits me best in a sandle. For closed toe pumps, women's 12 is best. A lot depends on the width of your foot. Any other commentr?

Speaking of kinky footwaer on film, anybody ever take a close look and the third Matrix movie (Matrix Revolutions)? In the club scene, folks are wearing all kind sof high heel boots and shoes- including a man wearing a pair of pony boots!!

This year, for the first time, 5 of the top ten billboard hits were hip hop/rap songs. What that means is the majority of those songs are not bought by minorities (at least in the US), but by majority (or Caucasion) youths. Sadly, many of the non-positive messages are appealing to youth from across all backgrounds. "bad news sells better than good news" In the US, it seems the trashier it is, the more popular is (ex: talk shows, especially Jerry Springer)

I'm beginning to think that the manufacturers aren't as blind or dumb as we think, and the demand, though growing slowly, isn't as large as we believe. If that were the case, you wouldn't be able to buy any Newport News, Fredericks or Victoria Secrets heel in larger sizes during their clearance sales and Sexy Shoes (the high heel specialty store in the states) would have stores all across the country (or world for that matter). Sorry folks, the demand isn't there.

I nominate the platform shoes show in the movie "I'm gonna get you sucka". One o fthe characters was released from jail (in 1990) after 15 years and didn't know platforms had gone out of style. He had platforms shoes with REAL FISH swimming in the shoes!!!

I'm a hetero male (not into the cd thing). When I do go outside, it's typically late at night or someplace fairly remote.

If I saw women walking akwardly in heels, I'd probably stand and watch, enjoying the show. If I summoned up the courage, I'd compliment them on their choice of footwear as that would definitely brighten their day and may inspire htem to wear heels again.

I stopped lurking and registered. I am a 40 something hetero Black (or African American) male who has had a thing for high heels for a long time! I like seeing them, wearing them and especially waering them while walking on slippery surfaces. Anyhow, I've enjoyed reading all your posts for a long while and now look forward to contributing.
