peachyshoes
ok Im a bit of a grunger and wear leg warmers. Opinions: Are leg warmers a good or bad idea? Should have stayed in the 80's and gyms or must have fashion accessory? Would love to know what you think Mel
Shafted
Hmm, heels and leg warmers, I suppose with the right outfit it could work. Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH
Peachy:-) I have never used leg warmers...only pantyhose and long pants on my legs while wearing heels. Sorry, can't help you there. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Dr. Shoe
I disagree. When I was 16, I had a weekend job and one of the girls who worked there was very nice indeed. She was a redhead and a gymnast (a sexily lithe and supple body) so streets ahead in the fanciable stakes! She also rode a motorcycle and dressed head to toe in tight fitting leather with knee length stiletto boots with legwarmers over the top. :drinking: :drinking: Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects. Dawn HH
I agree with you Lindsay, that legwarmers are in the same league with flip-flops. That is why you will never find Dawn wearing them. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
azraelle
During the mid-80's to early 90's, I wore legwarmers over tights under the pantlegs of Anti-Contamination coveralls.....to keep my legs WARM on cold windy nights (wind chill factor -70+ degrees F.) on grave shift "drillbacks" into the radioactive core of recently fired underground nuclear "shots". 'Twas a cheap (and lightweight) alternative to the drilling roughnecks' $50-$75 insulated coveralls (which they had to get under the Anti-C's--and lose if they got contaminated). Fortunately I was careful enough to avoid the embarassment of being discovered with them on by getting myself egregiously contaminated someplace other than my hands. Firefox
I think legwarmers look fine with a grunge or sporty look, but legwarmers and heels... It's like ankle boots and skirts, they somehow are not natural partners.
ShockQueen
I think that leg warmers with knee-boots would be unbeatable, along with good pumps paired up with a nice pair of legwarmers :-) Call me stuck in the 80's, but I LOVE 'em! Dawn HH
The only time that I have seen leg warmers is on someone that was practicing ice skating at an indoor rink. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Rob
I've seen some girls in leg warmers and court shoes (pumps for the US guys) recently - similar look to the girl on the right in the pic kneehighs posted the link to above, but plain/without the patterns. I thought that it looked quite good in an ultra trendy type way. Not really a grunge look at all.
r1g0r
a properly clad hippie/ballerina/punk/boho girl, wearing leg-warmers, can be soooo sexy. anybody who can't agree with this simply HASN'T seen it properly done! oh my god, to remember helene. in 1982, she was the ULTIMATE in leg-warmer chic. forget about porn-queens, super-models, or even BETTY PAGE. this woman was an epitome of hippie ballerina sexuality. if i could have convinced her, she would be mine right now! r1g0r (quietly remembering, with an inward tear) society has decided that men will be confined to certain items of clothing, and certain modes of presentation. until we rebel PERSONALLY against this, we are diminished!
