jim Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 To many of us, I suppose one dour concrete wall looks much like another. But for artist Eric Grohe, each one can be the start of a unique and arresting mural. And it's not the size that impresses so much as the eerie feeling you could walk through the mural into somewhere else entirely.. Here's the link. http://jimvestments.com/mural/?GXHC_GX_jst=8258c07850ea6164 jim
Shafted Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 That's really cool Jim! I saw a similar painting technique used on a ceiling in one of the halls within the vatican. Shafted, the boots that is! Bubba136 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Incredable! And, to see he keeps busy is wonderful, too. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
jim Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Incredable! And, to see he keeps busy is wonderful, too.
asdf174 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 That is cool. I've seen art like that before. On a old tv show called Reading Rainbow as a matter of fact. (Wow I can't belive I remember that.) It's all good. ~Arron.
Dr. Shoe Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 There's a guy in Eurpope somewhere who does the same thing on the floors of shopping centres. He draws swimming pools that people actually walk round to avoid falling in and a chunk of floor dug out and flung to one side. The amazing thing is, it's all done with chalk! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Bubba136 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I recently viewed that website, Dawn. I thought I saved it but I can't find it. If I do, however, I will link to it from this thread. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Dawn HH Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Thanks, Bubba. I think I know the link that you are refering to, but at the moment I don't know where it is. There certainly was some amazing work there for just chalk work. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Bubba136 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Hit the hammer directly on the thumb, Trolldeg. Thanks. That is precisely the website that I was thinking of. Wonderful artist and wonderful pictures, aren't they? Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Bubba136 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Trolldeg has about that much talent. just take a look at his renderings of high heeled shoes and boots. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Dawn HH Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Trolldeg:-) BINGO!!! you found the lost link for everyone. Many thanks. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
dr1819 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Phenomenal. I've seen his work before. Depthdefying.
Dawn HH Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Dr1819:-) "Depthdefying" certainly is a good word for it. Although it is chalked flat, it sure does look 3-dimentional. Amazing! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
dr1819 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Yeah - and the last pic is the most amazing, as I could swear his foot is about 8 inches below the surface of the street!
jmc Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 As the caption says, "Amazing"! That last shot -- from the wrong angle -- illustrates just what he does to create his illusion of depth. He has an uncanny grasp of perspective and projection. Have a happy time!
