xaphod
I've been having a clear out, and found a whole load of flyers from my shy-mode days when I used to go to fetish clubs to do my heeling. Now, there's a lot of stuff which is pretty raunchy, which is not appropriate here, but the few bits I have saved typify the sort of community I think we are. ....... and this is a printable pic (one of the mildest) of the sort of community that I think we are not. The question I ask is, where is the dividing line between great interest in heels (eccentric), heel fetishism (somewhat unhealthy), and other interests which may be considered extreme by some. I don't think there is any hard and fast boundary, but it would be interesting to have your thoughts. Xa
sendra45
Okay, lets get things rolling. With 6 pairs of heels from 2.5 to 5.5 inches, I concider myself to have an intrest in heels, but one that does not consume me every waking hour. I prefer to look at heels but since meeting you lot here I have realised that I can wear them too. so I would put myself at the other end of the scale. where do the rest of you place yourself? Nigel. Skirted-UK
I have always regarded my fetish for straight skirts and heels as a gift, life would be far less exciting without it. Never regarded it as being unhealthy! "You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave ! " The Eagles, "Hotel California"
Bubba136
For my part, I would wear my heels every waking moment of my life if I could. I love to wear women's shoes. The higher the heels, the more I like it. So, I guess that puts me at the extreme end of the fetish scale. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public. shrimper
I love to wear heels at home. I have worn flats out at night although it makes me very nervous. I love to look at lidies in heesl, flats, sandals, almost anything except boots and platforms. I have a very normal (no shoeplay) love and sex life with my wife. All that said, I don't think I fit on anybody's scale. I try not to judge anybody, especially myself. If you like somehing I don't and vice versa that doesn't make either of us sick. TXT-1
while I don't like the "fetish" image of men/women head to toe in Latex, a couple of more tamer but still "racy" pics doesn't worry me, just no blatant Porn, or the other crap that happens elsewhere! I always though I was a shoe fetish aka "retifist" but I have come to realize that they are just another of my "fixations" - that I can switch on/off - and that I don't wear shoes because of a "sexual" need, I wear them because I have a curiousity towards them and would love to wear them like women wear heels, however reality - and a tiny bit of fear stops me! later, TXT-
Bubba136
The best thing for anyone with a BDSM fetish, or any other fetish that might be revolting to 80% of the people on earth, to do is to keep it to themselves. While I don't like most of the behavior associated with BDSM or other perverted fetishes, I don't mind anyone else participating in them in private. The only time it bothers me is when the practioner crows from the rooftop about it and wants everone to know what they're up to. Some things are left unsaid, under wraps and not mentioned in public. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
chris100575
As long as all concerned are consenting, I'm happy for the BDSM crowd to get on with whatever they enjoy. Getting back to the shoes thing, it depends on how you define fetishism. According to the dictionary, it's only a fetish if you can't function sexually without it. That I would consider "rather unhealthy". For myself, wearing heels or seeing women wear them can be sexually arousing if I'm in the right mood, but it's not an automatic thing, nor is it necessary for me to enjoy sex. So does that count as fetishism, and if so, is it unhealthy? In my opinion it's fun and harmless. Chris (edited for typo)
Sally2005
Whatever floats your boat. [dead website link removed] I don't mind what people do. As long as you don't try and convince others who aren't into those kind of things into it, which i feel is wrong. To me clothing is clothing whether it be a mini skirt, pvc leggings. Its just for some reason what a certain item is seems to make people instantly say whether or not its fetish. There are other words, gothic, alternative.... I think partly it is how people are bought up. Different religions and different ways of thinking. I think certain people just need to lighten up. As long as its not forced in my face. BDSM, latex and whatever else they label them i don't care. A bit of what you fancy does you good!!!!
GrayLion
and as for best not mentioned: why not? I am who I am and BDSM is an integral part of it. This is like saying that homosexuals ought to stay in the closet and what else. I have taken part in leather pride parades and walkign my sub on a leash is an emotional equivalent to holding hands in public - somethign that was frowned upon 50 years ago as well. I'll have my civil rights and keep them, thanks very much.
PJ
After reading all of the comments here, I became concerned about my own situation. Firefox
Guys, I'm sorry but I have had to edit this thread. I think feelings got a bit out of hand and some of the original phraseology was not appropriate, which lead to certain people being offended. Sorry if your post got edited or deleted but there were some interesting pictures and thoughts and I didn't want to get rid of the whole topic.
