Hi all! I'm new to this site and have just been reading some of threads to get a feeling for it. It's great that there's such a community of heel-lovers. I live in the Midlands, UK, and would like to try to get down to the meet in Bristol on the 11 Sep. I notice that there hasn't been any postings on this thread recently but I assume it's still on. I'll keep checking the thread for updates. Hope to see some of you soon!

Of course it's still on. The last time I spoke to Heelfan he was keen, and I fully intend to come.

YES! The Bristol Heel-Meet is 100% ON! Sorry if I've not been posting for a week or two, but my wife I have just closed our music shop and sold the contents to a Midlands firm as a "going concern". This has meant packing-up four large van-loads of stock and shop-fittings etc. (equivalent to moving house about twice-over!) so I've been pre-occupied to say the least. However, as we approach our Heel-Meet date of 11th September, I'll be posting rather more often to "Rally the troops!". As (with Firefox's help) I'm planning to lay on a "spread" here in Bristol, I've got as lot of tidying-up to do! Looking forward to seeing you all! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Hay ho, I am sure sombody else will make the place look as good as you, but they will have a lot to beat!!! nigel.

Thanks for the kind words folks! Yes Nigel, the buffet may well include soles and 'eels! If the latter are past their sell-by date, we might even treat you to some high 'eels! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Hi Heelfan, Just a thought, but do you live where your shop is? where is the buffet going to be? at your place still or a pub or something? Also, I may be able to provide some transport for the tour of Bristol if needed, better still, lets catch one of those busses for half an hour! Nigel.

A last minute business trip will bring me to London during the week. I'll definitely want to join you guys if time permits. Look out for an early 30s, 5'10 Chinese guy in heels.

Hello Kent! I hope you have a great trip to England! Next Saturday's Heel-Meet (11th September) is in Bristol, which is a ninety minute train journey due West from London. Catch the train (every half hour) from London's Paddington Train Station to Bristol's Temple Meads Station, and then see my main posting of the arrangements to find Bristol's McDonalds (upstairs) in the Broadmead Shopping Centre which is a few minutes walk from the train station (or a 2 minutes taxi cab ride) for the 10.30 am meeting, moving-off at 11 am. Hope to see you there! You'll enjoy a great day out with the gang, and a lunchtime 'spread' at my place prepared by Firefox and myself. Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

If all definite attenders could confirm/post here a day or two before, it would help greatly with the catering arrangements. We don't want to run short on soles and eels :D

1. As Firefox requests, can all attenders now please post their confirmations, so that we can organise the right volume of eats? - Thanks! 2. I suggest to all attenders that you bring along a print-out of the above arrangements on the day. That also gives you our various mobile numbers etc. 3. Nigel, we will probably have the lunchtime buffet at my place from say about 1pm to 2.30 if you can look in after your airport run. Thank you for offering to chip-in towards the spread, but I am your Bristol host and this one's firmly on me! Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday for a great Heel-Meet! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

If any of you attenders fancy treating us to any of your more 'outrageous' shoe fashions during the lunch party, it will be held in a large room connected by French windows to our high-walled courtyard which is totally private and overlooked by nobody (except ourselves!). Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday for a great Heel-Meet! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

To Nhoj62 and Nigel: Hello Nhoj: Firefox rang me a moment ago, and we both agreed that it would be a great shame if we could not persuade you to stay at least for the lunchtime buffet and socialising at my place. Howzaboutit, Huh? Hello Nigel and family! Aye, aye, we look forward to expecting all two and a half of you for lunch! In answer to your earlier question: Yes, we live above the shop, even though the latter has now closed, and we have a nice room and courtyard for the buffet. When you arrive, just ring the bell beside the main shop entrance door. You can garage your car (and any other members' cars) in our big garage next to the shop. Any more postings to come as final confirmations from people that are attending- Daz? Dr. Shoe? Fogborkenvv? etc. etc.? Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

I am 95% definite for coming but Ruth may have to look after her Mother who had a fall last Sunday.

Hello Dr. Shoe! Very sorry to hear about Ruth's Mother, and naturally Ruth must put looking after her before the Heel-Meet. However, pleased to hear that you are 95% about coming the the Meet. Make that 100%! Also, as I've been too busy to visit you to collect my Magnus 4" slim-heeled cowboy boots, I was hoping you could do me a favour and bring them to Bristol for me please (????). If you do, I'll gladly chip-in towards your travelling cost. Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Great news Highonheels! By the way, I think you deserve the prize for inventing one of the best-ever usernames. Well done! With only two days to go, this is the list of probable attenders so far: CONFIRMED BY THEIR CURRENT POSTINGS: Firefox, Calv, Nigel, FGWJon & Marlene, Nhoj62, Daz, Dr. Shoe (95%), Highonheels, Simon, Me (Heelfan), Francis & Jackie (possibly for a short time), Kent (hopes to attend whilst visiting UK from New York). PROBABLY EXPECTED, BUT PLEASE POST BELOW TO CONFIRM: Xaphod, Bladerunner. Any more interested in attending? All welcome - not to late to post! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Hmm! Congratualtions! Looks like one of the biggest heel meets ever. It's a shame you can't convince Becky and Anne_Louise to come along, also, I''m sure looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing all about it's success.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Thanks for the good wishes Bubba! I've duly PMd invitations to Becky and Anne Louise as you suggested. ANY MORE INTERESTED ATTENDERS? Please post below! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Crikey!!! Just checked the board and realised the Bristol meet is Saturday. Nothing planned for Saturday so count me in! Not sure if I'm going to drive down or play the Didcot move, but I'll see you at the appointed meeting place. Should be good...... Not been on one of these trips yet which wasn't. Just noticed after I posted this reply - this was my 500th post. Got some new footwear now I notice, just in time for Autumn. :D:) See you Saturday.

Do your own thing. Don't be a victim of conformity.
