Yesterday, I went to my nail salon for a new mani. I got my clear/pink gel on my hands. On my right pinkie I got bright gold glitter and my left pinkie got a bright silver glitter. My regular nail tech was on vacation, so I had to settle for just color and not a design on my pinkies. Incidentally I wore a black skort with a silver sequined women's top with my new Kelly & Katie (DSW) double band, slide sandals in silver glitter with with 4" small block heels and a 1" platform. Got a nice compliment from the nail tech, " I love your shoes, they go perfect with your silver sequinned top and they show off your red pedi too!". Got another compliment from another woman getting her mani.

My regular Mani/pedi is on Tuesday. Have few ideas today. Last time my nail tech choose a glitter dark blue, but I want a lighter color. Fingers - maybe she found more of the special gel color she has been using.

I think my feet look ok, but I consider my hands to be unattractive. There is no way I would want to draw attention to them. I keep four right hand nails on the longer side (when I can) for the purpose of playing fingerstyle guitar.

Just got my October pedi and mani, a couple days ago. On my toes  I got hot pink color for Breast Cancer Awareness which I get every year in October. Otherwise it's bright red the other months.

On my hands my usual clear/pink gel, with the right pinkie a white base and a pink Breast Cancer Awareness logo and the left pinkie with a pink base and a white Breast Cancer Awareness logo on it. Got some compliments on both my pedi and mani from other women at the salon. Incidentally, because it was a cold rainy day,,  I wasn't able to wear my usual skort. I wore a pair of white capri jeans, with a pink polo shirt with a white Breast Cancer logo on it. I did wear my Nine West "Gemily" sandal slides in hot pink color. My nail tech liked my ensemble especially my heels . She said that they showed off my new pedi to a  T.

Good for you on so many fronts, from your pedi and mani, to the color choices, to the support for breast cancer awareness.

I had a sister-in-law pass away from breast cancer, a terrible death, and myself have had three back-to back episodes of cancer, so awareness of such a killer is always great to be supported against.

I get pedicures myself, although without color. It stemmed from a infected ingrown toenail that so many people scoff at, but it was a lot of pain at the time. My doctor suggested I not only get it fixed with a professional pedicure, but to prevent them, to keep going long afterwards. She said she does it herself, and brings her boyfriend along because she recommends it for everyone.

Once I went that first time, laughed and joked with the workers, and laughed it up with the other patrons, any awkwardness of a man having a pedicure was gone, so now I get one every six weeks or so. I recommend both men and woman get them for health reasons and have for years.

I get both manis and pedis every 4-ish weeks. I damage my fingernails beds, so I need to have acrylic to hold the fingernails together and then gel on top. I also into material science, so I have magnetic gel this time.  Toes are neon green, or as I like to call it, fishing lure green.

I also use polish on my fishing lure. The glow-in-the-dark polishes add something different to your lures.

My wife always gets a Fire Engine Red color, seen in some pictures where she is wearing peep-toe heels on this site, but calls it by a name that is not good so I won't repeat it. She has been pretty good about me wearing leggings for warmth and comfort around the house, and has teased me a few times about getting red painted toes, but I would be so embarrassed if I was in a car or industrial accident.

When I worked for the railroad in extreme cold, my foreman suggested wearing pantyhose to stay warm, and in warmer weather to defeat ticks, but for the same accident reasons, I could not do it. I did try it, and I think he is right as I did seem to stay warmer, and goodness knows the US Marines wear pantyhose for tick prevention while NFL Players wear pantyhose to stay warm under their uniforms, but again it would be tough to explain so I just opt for legging under my jeans and no color on my toes.

But that is just me. I think its great others aren't as timid as I am. Life is indeed short, live it as anyone pleases.
