bluejay Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Went to the nail salon, yesterday to get my Christmas mani. As usual my tech was glad to see me and complimented me on my appearance. I wore a pair of black leggings with candy canes on them, red fleece top with my red patent go go boots, with 3-1/2" chunky heels. Got my normal clear/light pink gel on my nails. On my right pinkie a white base with red, green and gold candy canes on it. On my left pinkie a white base again with a green Christmas tree with red, gold and silver ornaments on it. Very colorful. I did get several compliments on my mani. Happy Heeling, bluejay
Cali Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Got a pedi with red background and a tree with lights on the big toes. Since you like like pink/clear on your fingers look at NOBILITY Gel Polish - Pink Abalone. It's a clear pink with an iridescent blue hue. I constantly get a random "I love your nails" when handing over a credit card or like today, just getting a blood draw.
bluejay Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Valentines Day Mani Went to the nail salon on Friday to get a new mani for Valentines Day. I got my usual clear gel on fingers. On my left pinkie white base with a red heart on it. The right pinkie she did in red base with the word LOVE written on my pinkie. I loved the look and I had several compliments on them. BTW, I wore black leggings with red hearts and the words love on them. A red fleece top and my pair of hot pink patent, knee -hi go go boots completed my ensemble. Happy Heeling, bluejay 2
CrushedVamp Posted Monday at 08:17 AM Posted Monday at 08:17 AM I am pretty conservative in both lifestyle and with money, but one thing I have done for several years is indulge in a manicure and pedicure. For me it started out when I got an ingrown toenail and the doctor said it was nothing they did at the clinic, and that her prescription was to go to a nail salon. As she explained why I needed to go and what they did there, it became clear that it would be a trip for sound medical reasons. But the doctor also followed it up with the statement that she thought both genders should go, and that her boyfriend went with her to one routinely. I had to look up some articles in male periodicals to feel okay about it that first time, but for sound medical reasons and the sheer fact that men spend as much time on their feet as women... maybe even more depending on what we do for work, it makes sound sense to take care of our feet the best we can. I do not live a flashy life, but there are a few indulgences that I do enjoy. Having a maid to clean our house is one, and another... going to the nail salon routinely. For me, it is mostly for a pedicure, but since they always ask, and I am there anyway, I have a manicure too. Both are without toenail or fingernail polish because that is not the reason I go, but I highly recommend a manicure/pedicure for men for health reasons. If you are unsure like I was, do an internet search and you'll see many articles talking about the medical benefits. That was the convincer for me.
Cali Posted Monday at 08:54 PM Posted Monday at 08:54 PM Foot care is very important to diabetic people. I've been getting regular pedicures for over 15 years and regular manicures for 10 years. Because I damaged several fingernail beds, I need to get acrylic nails which are cover by gels and I get color. No big deal, and I get compliments on my nails from both men and women. If you go with color, you have to be strong and proud of your style. (The sky doesn't fall with colored fingernails.)
bluejay Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM I always get pedicures and mani's. I always get a red color on my toes except for October when I get bright pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month. On my hands I get a light pink gel and colored art work on my little pinkies. In fact I'm going today, for my Christmas mani. I will be getting a Christmas Tree with colored ornaments on one pinkie and a candy cane on the other pinkie. Happy Heeling, bluejay 1

Happy Heeling, bluejay I get clear gel manis, but about 99% of the time, I have color on my toes. I like switching around colors, but sometimes give my nail tech “dealer’s choice.” I’m seeing her for my (overdue) monthly mani-pedi later today, last evening she texted me “advising” that she has “ideas” for a Christmas-themed pedi… 2
Cali Posted Wednesday at 06:41 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:41 PM My favorite christmas mani was what I called "Zebra on Christmas Acid". A gel design on my fingers/polish on my toes. Black base, then thin zebra stripes in white, red, and green. Envied by both men and women. Currently my toes are white with sprakle red and sparkle green candy cane stripes. One sparkle red and one sparkle green big toe, nail artist choice. 1
