mlroseplant Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 --at least in heels. We just got a foot of snow, and I don't want to ruin my shoes. Bummer! I did make it to Wal-Mart in heels last night. I didn't buy anything, but I did a few laps around the store. It's not the same.
Shafted Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I find that my Cole Haan boots (my most expensive) are most up to snow duty. Shafted, the boots that is! ChipsHH Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I've always wondered what a good alternative could be for winter footwear: heels/boots with inner warmth (cotton, etc.), or *gulp* Uggs. Formally "HHDude"
ilikekicks Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 UGGs are practical HHDude. No complaints from me. What I found works best in the snow are boots with a wedge heel. Some dont care for a wedge heel though. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
Histiletto Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Stilettos in the freshly fallen snow may get a bit of unwanted and harmless ornamentation and slippage could be more of a concern, but they still head the desireable to wear category. It's the frozen surfaces and ice packed build-ups that are usually the result of such climate conditions, which reduces ones preference for the wearing of stilettoed footwear. For those of us that have seen people or videos of people trying to negotiate over icy surfaces in stilettos, we understand the reasoning for selecting footwear better suited for these climatic environments. A while back, there were videos of attractive girls wearing extremely high heel stilettos doing some various winter activities. I understand they were compensated for their participation and their heels looked fantastic, but seeing them clear the sidewalk of snow and ice was a rather grueling spectatorial and watching them walk over snow and icy areas in stilettos made me empathize in their actual and anticipated occurrences of pain. There was even the possibility of becoming injured while performing their mercenary obligations to complete the video. Luckily, none of the girls were injured, but having to traverse over such terrain in extremely high stiletto heels in freezing temperatures was a little too much to have anyone do for anyone elses so-called pleasure or entertainment. However, the girls did consent to do their roles for the purpose of the video, so they also accepted the possible consequences. I may love to wear stilettos, even the extreme ones, but trying to perform under those wintry conditions had better be worth my time, effort, and another pair of stilettos.
Shafted Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Ice is pretty easy in stilettos if one knows how to skate. Shafted, the boots that is! Guest Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I just saw the perfect winter boot! They were rubber boots but with about a 3inch heel. They were at DILLARDS.
