Seems as though Crute was in trouble with the British bureaucracy for failing to register with some regulatory body named "CORGI". It would CEO-level position lured the media to the courthouse. I agree he is NOT poorly dressed just crossdresed. Just think of the stir there would have been had a woman, in the same exact situation, shown up wearing men's trousers, tie, and suit and perhaps with the nearly obligatory earrings. There would have no stir because a good slice of the media is still stuck in their prehistoric notion of gender roles and the hypocrisy they perpetuate. Then again the media in Britain sets the standard for "invasive species" and I ain't talkin" about plants. HappyinHeels:wave:

At work yesterday had the same based conversation re female cross dressers and transgender groups, people just did not believe that there were in existence.

What start the discussion was the write up in "The Sun" newspaper,

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/3624245/My-little-girls-grown-up-to-be-a-girl-of-17.html

(yes they got the title mixed up)

A younger lad 20? ish, didn't understand it, why can it happen etc etc and adamantly disbelieved the same happens for girls, when explained that it is more sensationalist to relate to male transgender states than to the female he backed down a bit.

It's the world we live in and todays news will get blown out of proportion.

ALL, I know the reason, or at least I have an articulate theory, as to the double standard that has women wearing whatever thy want without repercussions to men being instantly judged negatively at the hint of "feminine" attire. The world does, and has for a very long time, values men and masculine concepts and just masculinity in general more than it does women and feminine traits. Sure many nations depict women in scenes of beauty, seemingly put them on a pedestal, and all manner of ceremony flows toward the mother come mother's day in each corner of the earth. But the practical expression of this is quite different. Look at the disparity in pay in MANY countries between men and women employed in the same profession. The second-class treatment of women in much of the Middle East and into India is almost as legendary as it abyssmal. China values women so lowly that many families that have girls simply give them up for adoption, or worse, make it easy for couples to simply have them aborted. Men are expected to work, be productive, and basically make the important decisions the world expects of them. I believe women are given greater fashion freedom because it is seen as a form of creative expression. But the world doesn't allow the same freedom for men as it isn't ready to see men enjoy it. well happyinheels I think thats what you are trying to say is this: men (males) are supposed to think different, feel different BE different than women (females)in ALL ways (in most countries) just because of being different in GENDER since in human societies it takes male & female to bond to create new life & males ARE different than females in those ways, so these ideas have "evolved" so to speak thruout the 1,000s of years of what is considered to be MODERN Homo Sapiens.

UGH! That top was absolutely horrid! :)

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

There's obviously a backstory to that activity. "Let's see, the press is waiting for me. I want to get through and not be noticed. The black sweater, pants and flats? No, I think this will do it."
