JohnCinheels:-) You were into that corset once and I'm sure if the desire is there, you will be into it once again. Go John. I had on my girl jeans the other day and I said to Mickey that they seemed a bit tight, so I must have packed on a couple of pounds around the middle myself. Cheers--- Dawn HH

- Wood or cork clogs that resemble the traditional Swedish style, with visible round studs, black or dark brown, with 3,5-4'' block or wide wedge heel, not too feminine-looking. The closest i've seen so far is the May black cork wedge, A80, from zoccoli.de : http://www.zoccoli.de/media/uploaded/103_1.jpg A pity they don't have it in my size (EUR 42) and not even my wife's size (EUR 39).

- Ankle boots, with 3,5-4,5'' block or cone heels, round toes, maybe a small platform, rubber soles, grey or brown colored with black soles and heels, with side or back zippers, might have some "masculine" pattern on toes, e.g. the butterfly. The YSL Johnny men's boot is quite close, i just wish it had somewhat higher heel.

- Some loafers (or maybe even sneakers) with soft, quiet, and wider (i.e. not much narrowing downwards) 3,5-4'' rubber wedges.

- Oxfords, patent black or dark brown, with very pointy toes, might have some fine pattern, something like these --> http://www.yoox.com/item.asp?sec=1&YOOX=GIANNI+BARBATO&dept=shoesmen&tskay=C9CBD56B&rr=1&cod10=44154684RB&sts=sr_shoesmen80 but with 3-3,5'' Cuban heels.

Half a year passed by, a few dreams have been fulfilled, some have become more specific, some new dreams have emerged. Here is my revised "dream list":

1. Cork-soled clogs that resemble the traditional Swedish style, with visible round studs, black or dark brown, with 3,5-4'' block or wide wedge heel, not too feminine-looking. This is still the same, with the offering from zoccoli.de still ruling.

2. Ankle (or a little above) boots with 3,5-4'' stacked block heels, round toes with wingtip patterns, dark gray colored. Take the YSL Johnny boots, have them a little higher and thicker heels, and color them dark-gray -- thats it.

3. "Driving-style" loafers with 3,5-4,5'' soft and quiet natural rubber block wedges. Maybe a little platform too, bot mot more than 3/4''.

4. Red (bordeaux-tone) classical "men's" style oxfords with wingtip patterns and wide 3,5-4'' stacked wooden cuban heels. Red is one of my favorite colors in outfits, and i have several red clothing items. I'm thinking of having such shoes custom-made.

5. Ankle boots with 4-4,5'' hidden wedges and back zippers, e.g. --> http://www.my-wardrobe.com/mini-market/black-zipper-wedge-ankle-boot-754632 or --> http://www.luisaviaroma.com/index.aspx#getData.aspx|CallType=Product&prodId=M072&des=250&cat=&gender=men&group=&vendorColor=OQ==&season=actual&seasProdID=50I The second one by Rick Owens is significantly over budget but i'm seriously considering the first one.

6. These --> http://www.brownsfashion.com/product/fashion/shoes/shoes/012N52430004.htm

Unfortunately also seriously over budget :tear:

7. Masculine-looking sandals with wide adjustable front straps and buckles, either open toe or with a strap in the midde of open toe, either slip-ons or with ankle straps, 3,5-4'' block heels. A design with a separate small strap for just the big toes would be especially nice (i currently have a pair of flat men's sandals with similar design and i like that very much). Dark brown-colored.

8. These boots --> http://www.hhplace.org/album.php?albumid=142&pictureid=1718 with almost-knee high cowboy-style tops, without additional decorations. 5-5,5'' heels. Normally i wouldn't wear boots with tops higher than slightly above the ankles, but these would be an exception. Normally i wouldn't wear heels higher than about 4'' but these would be an exception. Normally cowboy style is not my style but these would be an exception :chuckle:

These are my dream pairs. Don't know where to buy them, nor do I have the $$$ to get them.

Since I usually buy my shoes with wearing them in public in mind, I think these would be way too daring and feminine for any man to wear in public. Unless, of course, the guy is also wearing a dress, etc. In fact, the style is very daring even for a woman to wear anywhere except by a model on a runway.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

I too buy my shoes mostly for public wearing (as could be seen from my dream list a few posts downwards), but i'm thinking of why not also have a pair like some of these -- for occasional fun at home and some very special events (indoors only, as they're in my opinion too high platforms for walking on the streets)..

Happy Heeling
