iloveboots Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi Dr Shoe, Cathy and I are unfortunately going to have to cancel our attending this year. I now have to attend a conference in San Diego and so we'll both be in Southern California during the heel meet. We were looking forward to reconnecting with everyone especially at the new Bristol location as most of my family are in Cheltenham and this would have been a terrific two purpose trip to SW England. All our best wishes for a successful Meet. Hugs, David & Cathy "Dress For Your Own Pleasure"
crotchhiboots Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 What about the volcano on Iceland? It could foul your travel plans. Who knows how long it could erupt? 77r90dL lf
Dr. Shoe Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Dr Shoe Does that give us an extension? note to myself Must book accom. if I get back? Al Yes. It might be at a different venue anyway but it will still be in Bristol. The venue we have in mind is a private room in a pub. LovesHiHeels Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Has there been any plans made for Friday and Saturday night?
Dr. Shoe Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Not yet, but watch this space! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
f_private Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 What ever the program will be, it has to be with a lot of TG... I heard about Bristol is the place to be for TG... Just a question, how can I fastly get a train in London to Bristol (landing in London-City)?
Dr. Shoe Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 I think it's about 2 hours from Paddington. The venue we will be using isn't really a TG place and so I'm not expecting to be many there. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
morpho Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 What such a bad news , modifying the party with the afterTG party, what a pitty, i hope it was not becasue the stupid negative complains from just two anti tg people (if im wrong, well thats how it looks like, im not tg, but annoys too much to hear negative umproductive comments when those ones doesnt move a finger to make soemthing happen), any way a guy in heels is a guy in heels and is already special and very very valuable, therefore i feel that those comments sounded insulting to many people. Also we are not to be able to meet new friends or do something nice to enhance the fiendship, anyway it is once a year and some of us if going will put a good amount of money to invest in by attending, whereas others just drop a line into this great forum in order to demotivate great actions, sorry for all of the ones were up to go to the original meeting, and sorry for Dr shoe, i see she had put a lot of creativity and effort in order to do something nice and special. Also can say she wanted to gather her friends too, if i finally go to the meetup, i will go as TG full in femme even if i am not into that and is hard for me to go out in public with heels, just to demonstrate that there is nothing to do against TG and very brave and valuable people. Hope this reply wont be erased from the forum as my purpose is just to make an important point here to sound. I know and im convinced this forum is only for shoe wearing and anything to do with fashion etc, and my point is to clarify that this mission is not descriminating any group at any moment. Dr shoe if i can go i will pm you in order to let me know the agenda over that week if any. PM to me also the people that wish to go so maybe i can also coordinate accomodation with anyone, as im coming as well from overseas. cheers m V. Morpho
Dr. Shoe Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 No it was nothing like that at all! The "after party" was a totally separate event organised by the hostess and nothing to do with the Heelmeet. However for personal reasons she has had to cancel the TG party and it looked likely that she will not be able to entertain us for the heelmeet either. However, we do have an alternative venue up our sleeves which is nearby and in many ways even better. There may be other events over the weekend at the original venue but these won't be arranged until nearer the time. Al Well, I am delighted to announce that my friend has resolved her problems (which was caused by a misunderstanding I gather) and the Heelmeet is back on as it was but with a slight modification. It will now be in 2 parts, the first being the meet itself (with a buffet or barbecue) at Davina's and then at about 2.30 we will decamp to a city centre location (a private room in a pub) which is very convenient for shopping. f_private Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Could you tell me the adress of Davina's? Where would it be better to book the hotel? Close to where? Thank you...
Dr. Shoe Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 She is right next to The SS Great Britain. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.

Heelfan Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 SCHEDULE FOR THE 2010 WORLD HEELMEET, BRISTOL, UK Dr. Shoe (overall organizer from London) asked me (Heelfan, in Bristol) to locate venues etc. so now I post these more detailed arrangements: FRIDAY 18th JUNE, 2010, 7pm. PRE-HEELMEET DINNER. All those arriving on Friday are invited to meet and this restaurant: River City, corner of Cumberland Road and Hanover Place, Bristol, BS1 6XU. Try googling this postcode into Google Maps UK and you'll see exactly where it is. I've chosen it because short Hanover Place leads straight into to the gates of Bristol Marina, the venue for the following morning's Heelmeet, only 200 metres from the restaurant. River City is a brand new restaurant with a keen owner called Rob whose prices are very reasonable (£4 - £8 for the main course) and he will push some tables together once he knows how many are coming. PLEASE POST ON THIS THREAD (or on the other Bristol Heelmeet thread) to let us know if you are joining us for this Friday evening pre-Heelmeet meal. SATURDAY 19th JUNE 2010, MAIN HEELMEET: 10.30am (OR AS SOON AFTER AS YOU CAN MAKE IT) Assemble in the PRIVATE UPSTAIRS FLOOR (use exterior staircase) of BRISTOL MARINA’S BUILDING: Bristol Marina, at end of Hanover Place (off Cumberland road), BRISTOL, BS1 6UH.The Marina has its own spacious car park and wonderful balcony views of the boats and harbour. Davina is laying-on a splendid lunchtime buffet (we ask you to chip-in £5 each). A great opportunity to mingle and chat away from the public gaze, and talk/compare heels etc. APPROX. 2.30pm Move across to the upstairs (privately booked) room of this pub in Central Bristol: The Griffin, Corner of Colston Street and Trenchard Street, Bristol, BS1. This is much more central for Bristol’s shops for those who wish to go shoe shopping and optionally to consider the large choice of central restaurants etc. for the Saturday evening. Again, the upstairs room in the Griffin is for the group’s exclusive use, so that any shy-guys can show each other their heels without any public embarrassment. SUNDAY 20th JUNE: Any folks hoping to stay or for part or all of Sunday will have plenty of time during the Saturday to arrange any mutually agreeable plans for Sunday. REMINDER: Please post now to let us know a) whether you are participating in the Friday evening meal, and To confirm (especially if you have not yet done so) that you are attending the main Heelmeet this Saturday. We look forward to seeing you (heels encouraged, but never compulsory!), Cheers, Heelfan (you can contact organizer Dr. Shoe on 07958 582692 or attender Firefox on 07941 172043) Onwards and upwards!

SATURDAY 19th HEELMEET FROM 10.30am, BRISTOL MARINA (see above schedule). It's also looking as if Davina might invite us on an optionalriver boat trip in the afternoon: Dr. Shoe Heelfan Firefox Si Loves Hi Heels f private Davina mshighheel mikeheel Cuban Nicky mshighhells djboot333 Alsheels and Chris maniboots Heels For Men geiger girl and Andi mikeheel Sectreto? Heelfan Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 To all Heelmeet attendees with cars: Bristol Marina has a good car park (I think about 50 spaces).
