LovesHiHeels Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Apart from the evening meal, there is nothing planned during the day on the Friday. I can,t get into my apartment untill 2pm, but I do need a pair of heels repaired so might do that in the morning. Can any one can suggest a good shoe repairer in London? If there,s anyone intersted in meeting up during the daytime. We can make plans for a time and place on this thread.
Dr. Shoe Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Achilles in Hackney has done a lot of work for people on this forum. He is in Well Street and can be reached on a no. 30 or 388 bus from Liverpool street and goes by the name of "Craftsman Shoe Repair" and is situated opposite the Lidl supermarket. LovesHiHeels Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 As you may know I sharing the apartment with Iloveboots and he did say about going to Camden. Depending when his flight comes in.
Dr. Shoe Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Oooh yes! Camden sounds cool to me too! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
xaphod Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 LHH, I'm around on Friday morning if you want to meet up at the Novotel, Euston. There's a shoe repairer just south of the Camden High Street who specialises in reducing the calf size on boots for about £35. I will have to do some more research to see if they still exist, but I could be up for an investigate in the morning. Our location will be convenient for the Camden meet proper, in the afternoon. I won't stay around for too long in the afternoon as Calv is arriving in the early evening. Xa
at9 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Achilles in Hackney (Dr Shoe's favourite cobbler) reduced a pair of boots for me for under £20. I realise this is not convenient for Camden.
LovesHiHeels Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 On one hand If I go to Achilles I should be able to trust him to do a good job, but is a little way out for me and it may mean I have to make to trips there and not knowing London that well could be a small problem. On the other hand I have found a few in Camden which should be O.K. I expect I will meet you at the Hotel

Dr. Shoe Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Or team up with someone who not only knows London but has been using Achilles's services for years... Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
LovesHiHeels Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Ok Dr Shoe I team up with you then since you know London well. That if you don,t mind. We could meet up at the Hotel, Xaphod is staying at and if he wants to come to Achilles, he can.
Dr. Shoe Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 That won't be a problem assuming I can get the day off work... I will let you know for definite. BTW, I was thinking of Heelfan too as he's an Achilles regular as well. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
LovesHiHeels Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 I plan to get to London Waterloo for 9.30am. Then a quick shop at Honours. Not made my mind up where I,m going but I think I,m going to Achilles afterwards.
