Ouch - you go for it girl

Hi DG, I agree with Jim and Dr Who. You are doing really well, but those heels need cutting back a bit. If you know of a good cobbler, get him to do it. I take it that the parentals don't know about them yet, so Dad can't do it. Keep up the good work BB

Be careful, once you start it's addictive fun being helpless on top of heels and skates. You'll find that quad skates are more user friendly, although some people have used inlines. For me, the highest I've taken out, is a 5 inch heeled ankle boot, on quads, around a local country park's carpark. Any higher and its hard to cope with gradients.

Watched the video last night - fantastic - you do really well in them. Plus the boots look stunning

Quad roller skates work ok with heels - it's fun

Those boots are gorgeous, but they are somewhat expensive. You'd have to get a lot of wear out of them at that price.

I'm with Roz and Trinity on this one. Once I've had quite a few drinks, I end up stumbling around quite a bit if I'm in heels. I've got sloshed whilst wearing my ballets once, I don't remember falling, but my ankles were sore as hell in the morning.

Dear Daddy's Girl, you must be back off holiday soon. We want to know how you get on once you are back in your ballet boots, BB

Hi Michou, they are made in Italy. I had a pair of Rancho pony boots made. Delivery is a little bit slow, but they were well worth the wait. So I don't think anyone will stock them in the States.

There is some heel flex in these shoes, but with practice, you'll learn to get your toes down sooner and rely less on the heel. That way they are not under as much strain.
-
They are absolutely superb, they look great. Have fun.

She was definitely something special. Someone must know where she is, or what happened to her.

I've just watched the video, and for a first timer in ballets, I think that she does very well. With a little practice, she'll be as good as all the other ballet wearers here, and a lot of practice, she'll be catching Pata up.
-
Roz, please get us the info. I think that the girl in the vid looks great in the shoes. They look simple, but I agree that she has to stay close to the wall. She just needs a little more practice.
-
Welcome to the forum, you will find pleanty of enlightened people on here who can walk in ballets too. Pata from Light-fetish.de is probably one of the best. Enjoy your new challenge, keep up the practice, and ignore the idiots.

There's quite a few of us North Westeners around

They look absolutely fantastic. Personally I prefer the ballet boot version. If anyone can walk in those shoes, it will be Pata. She is a talented girl. I'm not sure I could manage them, but I'd love to try them.

Balletboot, as mentioned by Dr Who, its the practice required at going down hill that is the hardest. Its a matter of practice, but try and make sure that there is something like a handrail nearby to help steady yourself. You'll have to bend your knees. Make sure you are comfy with your toe padding before you go too far.

Bladerunner, they are a piece of cake to walk in, extremely stable, and surprisingly comfortable. It would be easy to street heel in them, as long as there were no steep gradients. If you got the ones without the ironwork, as suggested by Marcus, then with a long pair of jeans, you could easily go out in them. The iron work isn't that noisy, but enough to get you noticed.
-
I have a pair of the Rancho ankle boots. They are relatively easy to walk in compared to the standard ballet boot. With the iron wear, they are extremely noisy outdoors, but great fun. The only problem comes when it is raining, because the horseshoe and rear pin have no grip what so ever, which is a great thrill, you just have to be careful.
-
As Dr Shoe simply put it. it's down to practice. When you stand up, have something like the back of a chair to hold onto, and simply practice standing up. When you are happy, try walking, with tiny steps. Don't try too much too soon, and remember to keep your toe nails cut short.
-
They are definitely different, although I don't think I'll be buying a pair

The Scream heels take a lot of practice, and as your foot is past the vertical, it takes time to get your foot to adjust. It took me ages to walk in mine, but now I am happy with them. It's ok until you find a downward slope, but it comes with practice. Don't give up just yet!
