  1. Hey Dr Shoe, the last one indicates you have spent some time in an international HQ when you were in the RAF. I remember we used as straightforward as a Brit, as flexible as an American, as humerous as a German, as generous as a Dutch, as sober as a Canadian and as available as a Belgian in our organisation.

  2. Hi Melissa, in reply of yours a few post ago, I sincerely usually fall for tall girls and their heels have nothing to do with it because they usually wear flats anyway. I just like the way a nice tall girl looks and I just like to wear the heels myself, no connections at all between both things.

  3. Some people I've talked to said the angle between the flat toes and the steep instep of 6-inch heels caused them more pain (especially on the balls of their feet), as the weight of their bodies on their toes in ballets. This off course only worked for people who had their used on steep insteps of 5-inch heels before, and most said they needed their weight spread over their ballets by tightly tieing the laces of their ballet boots. I don't know about how possible that will be in ballerina ballets. Keep us informed please.

  4. Hi Terrayon, I'm glad for you things are progressing smoothly. As Lauri said, take it easy. As much as you would want another pair, if I were you, I'd still wait a bit. Get her used to these before. Start at home, later extend it to a quick errand, as she gets used to the idea and the looks maybe join her on a (shoe)shopping trip. Your mom will be glad to have somebody interested in shoes joining her on these and probably will never have expected it be her son, but will be delighted about this new bond. Untill that moment, don't push to inform your dad or sister. As from that moment you will have the most powerfull allie to defend your views of fashion freedom to your dad or sis, your mom being a shoe freeck herself having realized your new hobby is harmless and is only just that. Be patient and have fun on your heels, Highluc.

  5. I always liked tall girls, maybe it's because it would be easier for me to find an excuse always wearing heels. I don't know why, but I twice ended up marying small wifes.

  6. Hi Terrayon, I'm glad the first step (no pun) went smooth. Don't push anything, just start wearing them casually once in a while so she can see heels can look good and natural on her son and get her used to it slowly. Don't do it every day yet. When I was young my mom even started buying "acceptable" platform wedgie slippers for me, these had a dark sole and jeans top and looked a bit more tone down as the styles and colors I bought. When I got my first pair from her (around age 20 and asked why, she told me these were wouldn't attract so much attention if anybody visited us. Got to remind you it was in the 70's when everybody wore plats and heels, even boys. Have fun and easy does it, Highluc

  7. I buy shoes I like that fit me and have a nice sensation. I only started measuring the heels with a ruler when I posted pictures of my shoes on my website. The previous 30 years I never even measured once, I just felt their height under my foot for adequacy.

I never felt the urge to compete or excel in heel magnitude, I just liked the sensation and some lower different heels sometimes provided more than some higher models.

  8. Hi Jim, I bought a few Bronx pair lately. My normal size is 41 but on one of the pairs I elected to take size 40 to have a better fit. On the model you choose the flat toebox might be the limiting factor depending on the thickness of your big toe. Length shouldn't be a problem in a 40. Good luck.

  9. I was in Italy driving around on a weekend in an official staff car going from one shoe store to another on a saturday afternoon. The only shoes I had with me were my BK5 Deichmann suede knee high boots with 6 inch heels and 2 inch platform.

At one time the car refused to start although the engine turned over swiftly. I checked everything but with an electronic ignition my options quickly ran out. The only thing I could do was either call the base to send me a towtruck or call my boss to come and get me to tow me or go to the hotel and get the car towed next monday. Neither option was tempting in those boots and I was glad the car started 20 minutes later. That phenomena happened every once in a while and although they replaced the ignition box, it came back every two weeks. As from then I always took extra some "normal" shoes with me when I drove that Astra around.
