  1. I only got one problem so far. A US guy asked me to order a pair of tower Buffalo boots (30cm platforms). He paid everything and after 3 months I finaly got the custom boots delivered. I send them to him but after 2 weeks he still didn't get them. After an enquiry I discovered the parcel had been in Chicago O'Hare, turned back by customs for an unknown reason, arrived back in Belgium and disappeared without trace from a post office it wasn't supposed to pass through. It took me 30 phone calls and 10 letters during a full year to get the insurance to pay back half the worth of the declared package (they say they did get it to the US), plus the shipping costs. After more than a year I was glad to be able to send (early this week) that guy a money order of what the insurance paid. I hope he will get that letter soon. That's why I was a little afraid starting the "for sale" section on my website but so far all packages (about 30) have arrived (even in Poland which seems a miracle) and all my customers are satisfied. I'm still crossing my fingers when anything is sent across the big pond again.

PS: That US guy is still friendly and understands it wasn't my fault but I am still very embarassed about it.

  2. I agree they buy time but they also want some stability to return before they challenge Sadam again. Both the US and UK seem very keen to start some new actions in Irak but this is impossible if the rest of the Arab world is still busy with Israel. I wonder how much time they will leave between the 2 conflicts. I suspect Powels visit to the Arabian leaders is not only about the Israelis and Palestinians. With the Balcans and Afghanistan dwindling they got to find some "new exercise grounds" to keep their forces busy and weapon industry rolling. Why did they ever break up that Berlin wall, everything was so nice and peacefull with the eternal arms race against communism. Very few victims and a prosperous future during the good old cold war.

  3. My wife always picks some special designs for herself but always flats due to her weak ankle (she overturned it again last week in our garden). She often picks out dressy flats for me as well but I make little use of them (some social or family events not requiring standing or walking). The rest of all my shoes (heels) I buy myself because our tastes differ soo much and she doesn't like to be with me in the stores when I'm trying shoes from the female section all afternoon. Before leaving the house together she always has a critical look at my outfit and shoes and often makes me change everything till she is satisfied. This may consist of heels or platforms as long as it looks good and goes together well with the rest of my clothing. If I leave alone she doesn't care what I wear. There is no way I can influence her in her choices.

  4. I have the same feeling. Anything below 3 inch of true lift feels as flat and initially I tend to fall backwards when standing. Luckily my beer barrel acts as counterweight and helps keeping me upright. After all those years I find 3,5 to 4,5 inches of true lift ideal for my posture and back pains. Although I like the challenge of higher ones once in a while I never felt the urge or need to go any higher for sensations or anything else. Ultra heels are ok for a short while but my pleasures and feelings remain unchanged after 3 decades around 4 inches. 5 inches is the maximum I can wear for any practical purposes. Also 2 inch is the minimum I can wear for any duration and even that causes my back, tendons and calves to ache after an hour. Difficult to convince my wife about that for some social occasions but that's reality for me.

  5. I have been wearing pumps in the open since years and find them extremely comfortable and airy. I usually wear dark socks with them so they don't attract too much attention. On the old chat board there are at least 2 guys using pumps on a regular basis for work so you'll have to update your last post, 99% is outdated. Although I sometimes wear thinner heels my preferred ones are almost 4 inches on a rather elegant block heel (see pic below). Some of the guys on this board have seen me in them walking all day in Rotterdam and London, and the ones who tried them agreed these felt as comfy as home slippers.

  7. Arafat started of as a terrorist decades ago gaining "world fame" by blowing up 3 highjacked airliners in a desert (end of 60's). It's very difficult for him to condemn terrorist actions after gaining his popularity in this part of the world by doing just that. My guess is the US will "slowly" build up the pressure on Israel but only after leaving them sufficient time to do a little cleanup in the occupied territories, allowing them the possibility to do the dirty work crushing terrorist organisations and destroying their weapons and logistics. This is the kind of strategy that was used in most conflicts lately. Just look at the Gulf, the Balcans, Somalia and Afghanistan. There was never total victory in any of those conflicts, just some serious cleanup till "peace was enforced" but enabling all parties to survive in a "controlled democracy". This is about the only solution if a conflict is not to escalate to a whole region. Nobody around would permit one of the parties to be anhilated without getting some serious help from outside, in that part of the world rapidly growing to uncontrolable actions which would affect the whole world economy.

  8. I rarely wear hoisery, and whenever I do I use stockings and a garterbelt. Because I normally wear my more feminine shoes under long flared pants, just thin socks do the trick. I also often wear boots which wouldn't show anything either. As with my skirts (in public) I try to wear more masculine shoes hosery is not an option either. Hosery doesn't specifically feel special to me (although I always shave my legs) and the only times I wear them is leisuring in a long nightgown at home for added warmth. In sandals I go barefooted.

  9. Cobblestones as frequently used in Belgian cities to renovate pedestrian streets. The problem for me is not instability but the thin stilettos getting caught between two stones and if not tearing the tip from the heel at least damages the bottom of the heels. It is obvious this resurfacing to historical looks is dictated by city councils primarely composed by traditional men in boring flats. The few women on those boards are from the "green" party and spend their life on "healthy Birkenstock" flats. These cobblestones are best negociated with a pair of soft platform wedges for safety and comfort.

  10. Hi Bert, your collection of knee highs definitely beats mine. My number one choice in yours is the 3rd last picture "made in Spain, bought in Helsinki", thats a beautifull classic model I would like to wear. It looks like you could use a "for sale" section on your website soon. Have fun collecting and wearing your boots and greetings from Highluc

  11. Trolldeg and Melissa, you got it right on that problem. That's why selecting a pair that fits snugly around your thighs is so important. There is no such thing as a universaly fitting thigh boot. You will have to search very long before you find your ideal pair but once found they are a delight to wear. Even then pulling them up once in a while (especialy when standing up after sitting down) will be necessary in order to eliminate some wrickles but for me is part of the fun and for girls should be perfect in their omnipresent teasing game. The only negative point in tight fitting boots is the almost impossibility to wear them over your jeans. Borrowed shoes almost never fit right, get a pair of your own that fits your feet, calves and thighs and discover the joys and comfort provided by this form of boot.

  12. I try to avoid posting in the girl section but sometimes put in a reply or comment. On the other hand I see some popular threads being started as "what have you worn today" in one section that rapidly gets invaded by all. Maybe such threads should be mirrored in the other section to respect the "privacy" and ideology of some participants. I'm happy we all have reading access but also understand some conversations are preferably done in a more restricted circle.

  13. What I also hate is some manufacterers or retailers that stitch or glue their brand name on a piece of cloth right where the heel touches the inner sole. It often completely spoils the effect of a padded sole and if glued, starts slipping and crumbling up.

  14. Terayon, this is great news. I'm glad your mom accepts your style and even encourages you. I think this beer bet will end up with a six pack instead FF and X. Maybe those wedges will allow you to slowly break it in to your dad and sister. Enjoy your life in heels as from now, Highluc

PS: The lack of feminine look of your new wedges are ideal at this stage to boost your confidence and ensure maximum public use. The sensations you will enjoy come from the heels, not from the look.
