  1. Shyheels , you are spot on . Kinda like asking a skunk why its a skunk . For me I think it all started with my sisters heels back in the 70's and being able to walk in them ...... after some of her fine coaching . It may have been because it was taboo or the risk of being caught or the fun of it . Then maybe I just never lost interest in them . To this day heels have been a path I have always traveled and adored . The new styles , anything relating to heels even Christmas tree ornaments of heels . I just love them all .

  2. p1ing74 , not to terribly bad , I kinda like those you posted .  Let's face it the Croaks are a bit off the chart and planet for that matter . I am just sorry I started to check out this thread about the Crocs ......... what a waste of my life I will never regain . 😒

  3. Seems we had a question not unlike this one asked awhile back . To be honest , I told my wife while we were dating my love of wearing and collecting heels . I told her before we went any farther in our relationship I was head over heels for her ...... pun intended . It was my intention at that point in our relationship we get all the cards on the table . I figured if she couldn't take me as I was we would never make it . My ghost needed to be out of the closet as did hers . The next week I asked her folks for their blessing and purchased her an engagement ring . That was 24 years ago and we are still going strong . The only issue she has complained about is how many heels I have that I don't wear anymore . For the most part , I have taken care of that issue for the time being . We all know how heels tend to accumulate over time so , this issue will reappear at some point . So , to answer the question would be NO , 24 years ago ! But , circumstances change , today I would have to ditch my heels for her , she is my life as are my children .

At least your wife still bothers to point out your shortcomings. It just means she loves you! 😆😆😆

That's right and she is well versed in such matters . LOL !

  5. Well , folks more wedges for my collection . My wife told me , I had to many stilettos and to little space ...... can't really argue with that . I have gotten rid of 56 pair since our last "discussion" concerning this issue . Being the Jedi Master she is , I lost . Her big issue was : I wear more wedges than stilettos than pumps these days . So , in a trade , I managed to reduce my stiletto style pumps for some wedge styles I will wear more and save on space .  So , all but , two pair of non wedges remain . She has nothing to complain about anymore . Dodged that light saber . So today two pair of wedges showed up as part of a trade . Needless to say she was about to go Darth Vader on me , then I reminded her of the space we saved per "HER" request . Then everything settled down .

Moving forward , her are the two style I got in today . They are awesome , can't wait to wear them out clubbing , soon I hope .

I figured it best to post them in "Wild about Wedges" . Seems there is a better following of wedge lovers here than the new shoes group . Come to think of it I may need to change my name from maninpumps to maninwedges . Sorry to be so long winded . Be safe everyone !!!

  6.  I have about 12-15 more pair of stiletto pumps is US women's size 12 . All are in great shape ( box kept ) most never worn . This offer is only good to residents of the Continental US . Sorry , its been my experience in the past shipping out side the US boarders is to costly and not to mention , I can't be accountable for customs and time constraints that are out of my control . I wish to sell/trade them off in lots . The reason for selling them off in lots , I have them priced around 1/4 the original price , Only asking about $10.00 a pair . That is for all brands offered . Some are Nine West , Frederic's of Hollywood , Diba Girl and many more . Here is what styles I have to offer : peep-toe patent , baby doll faux sued , one pair peep-toe sling backs and some satin ( bridal / brides maids ) . There are other's not mentioned so feel free to ask . If you are interested please send me a PM and I will get back with you . Pictures will be available off HHP . I have problems posting pictures here also there is no need to burn up space on HHP when there are so many other wonderful pictures to be shared . Be safe everyone !!!

  7. Said it once and will say it again ! I wouldn't offer Crocs to a barefooted Eskimo ! Been trying for year's to get my children out of those ugly things . The meaning of Crocs , shoes for lazy people , to lazy to tie or buckle shoes on . The children have heard me share my discontent with them wearing them many times . When they first started to wear those ugly things it was my policy to not buy them for the children . So , they went crying to their grand parents for them . What a waste of money .

  8. Sorry for not being more specific . This is the style I am referring , they are the exact style I have . Mine are a size 11 wide .

  9. RonC  , Have you ever tried a pair of slides ? I didn't care much for them either at first . One of my neighbors told me she loved them because they were so easy to wear and looked way better than the old ugly a$$ flip flops . She even bet me if I didn't like them she would pay me back the cost of them . Needless to say , I had to try a pair . I got my pair ( wedges ) from Lane Bryant . Although they don't look near as good as mlroseplant's , mine are canvas with a knot on top . I wear those around the house when I can't get out much . They have become like slippers for me . On a side note I can't run in any of my heels at all . 😀

That's just it. I get it. Some shoes are not meant to last more than one or two seasons. I was simply wondering if your experience was the same as mine in that regard.

Yes Sir I do have that issue . It's a little worse with some brands .

I understand where you are coming from about these shoes . I have issues like that as well . That's one reason I purchase 2-3 pair when I find a pair I Really like . Then I spray them down with rain guard 2 or 3 times for good coverage . This seems to help quite a lot . If they do get some mud or crud on them let it dry and brush it off with a soft sued cleaning brush . Jute by nature just seems to fall apart anyway . But , ankle tie espadrilles are one of my favorite styles and ....... I like the open toe ones too .

  12. This is my first purchase for the 2021 heeling season . Last year around this time Torrid had the same style out in Blush and Black . Unfortunately , they were sold out of the Black so I decided to go with the Blush . This year they reintroduced them again in Black so I had to snatch another pair . I have both Black and Blush now . These Espadrilles are really comfortable to walk in and they do run a little on the large size . In comparison to the Payless Brash Espadrilles , I had to size down one whole size with the Torrid to a size 11 W from the normal 12 W from Payless . I can wear these all day with no problems . If you have narrow feet , I would recommend against them . Me , I have a firm foundation to put it politely . These have a little wider wedge than most of my other wedges and makes walking a breeze . The ankle tie is long and they stay in place for me , then again mine aren't tied half way up my calf muscle either .

These are the next pair on my radar :

  13. The shoe stores around Louisville are dropping a lot of the larger sizes and going to tennis shoes . then there are all the other's like Payless and Rack Room that are closing / closed the doors . I haven't been out shoe shopping in almost two years , mostly due to the pandemic but , as of late cause there is nothing on the shelves . My wife had a hard time finding my daughter a pair of winter boots and she only wears a size 7 . My wife and I have gone to online shopping and hope for the best . I am beginning to wonder if dress shoes are going to be needed . 😞

  14. The old Atari 5200's are the extent of my video gamming days and they were short lived . To answer your question I do not fall into your age group as I am about 20 year's older . But , I do wear heels almost daily if even a 1/2 hour or so per day .

I would have to agree with both of these assessments. In many situations, stilettos are easier, and at the same time, they wear out very quickly compared to even slightly thicker heels.

Here's some conventional wisdom I just can't get behind, and that is that wedges are somehow easier to walk in than skinnier heels, and everyone seems to recommend them for beginning heelers. Yes, they don't sink into grass, and you don't worry about getting your heel caught in a sidewalk grate, but it seems to me that most wedges are actually harder to walk in than regular heels, because there is more surface area there to lever your ankle sideways, should you step on the odd pebble or twig. The only wedges that I find myself reaching for when I feel like a wedge are those with a very narrow profile from side to side, in order to reduce the amount of destructive torque available to my ankles. They sure do make incredibly weird looking footprints in the snow, however!

The wedge or no wedge will forever  be a long debate . What it boils down to is what an individual likes . Me , as most of you know prefer the wedge style heels because they seem to give me more support . I have never had any problems with wedges , where stiletto's seem to be a weak and flimsy shoe in my opinion  . To be honest , a wedge heel has never broken off or caused any sprain for me . Agreed , wedges do make weird looking footprints in the snow , those my just be my footprints .
