  1. Nice heel, but they look too small on you. They might feel ok for a bit, but later on after a long span of wearing them (say like 3-4 hours of an evening) they will giev you some trouble. But as always - I hope I am wrong.

  2. Hey All! Last week I was shopping with my gf when she saw a kickass pair of Steve Madden slingback heels. They are black with a 4” heel. A skinny strap with a buckle goes across the toes. It has another thong strap that criss-crosses the main strap. She tried them on and were very hot on her. They were too high so she told me to try them out. Of course, I can do higher heels than her (gotta love that). They looked perfect on me. And for $20 they were a steal. So I got them! Too bad I don’t have a pic. Anyways we went to a bar on Saturday for a going away party. I’ve never done open toe heels before. I thought of some nail polish but it didn’t look right, so I opted for just a clear coat to spruce the peds up. I went with some people that I have wore chic shoes before around them but never noticed. I was a hit with the girls and the guys. Several came up and lifted up my jean leg to see what I had on. They were certainly impressed. One of my friends asked if I was a “trendsetter”. I was like “ummm I dunno, I just like the way they look!” She says she works at a female-only clothing store and gets a lot of guys coming in buying merchandise. She had the same philosophy as me – if it looks good, wear it! Now the heels did hurt a bit at the end of the night, probably because I was breaking them in. But these heels will sure be shown off again. Now two other fun things….Firstly when I was shopping at my gf, we noticed 2 brothers, probably around 10-13, with their mother. They found a pair of lime green platform thong flip flops. Now I know some people here hate that style, but I personally like it. They had them on and were walking around in them. They both asked their mom for a pair. Their mom responded with “well where are you going to wear them?” They both replied at school. I believe she said she would purchase one pair for them since they were cheap. Who knows – maybe they will be a hit on the playground! Secondly…When I went out that night, I drove to the club with a female friend of mine. When she picked me up, she asked for a pair of heels for her. She says she always wears flip flops and wanted to feel pretty for a change. So I gave her a pair. I think that’s really cool. She also asked me for coverup for a pimple – too bad I didn’t have any..lol Cheers All!

  3. It's got to do with 2 factors: 1) how often you where certain heights of heels and 2) how big your feet are. If you only wear flats and then wear like a 2" heel, you might feel some discomfort at first. If you wear 4" all day, 5" will be easy for you. Also, if you have a smaller foot, your foot will be on more on an uncomfortable incline in a higher heels, where as a larger foot would be a more gradual incline.

  4. If she accepts it, that is a definate thumbs up. My gf likes the different styles on me. It's not like we are eager and excited when I wear them, but just a subtle "nice look" or whatever lets each other knows that you like the other person's style.

  5. Thanks for the feedback....A funny thing though is most people tell me to stay clear of the middle pair (tan strappy ones), but the 1st pair (black steve madden) are no problem to wear....Why is that?

  6. I've noticed that girls flip flops are 1) cheaper, and 2) better looking on me. For comfort, I think they can look good with your attire (mostly jeans) if you do them right. I got a brown rugged looking pair and they make a great casual look.

Has anyone tried or have or like a pair like this?

  7. Hey Folks! I have a new goal. I want to stop just reading posts on this board everyday and actually start contributing more often! Yay!!!

Now it's summer and the weather is nice in Windsor, Ontario. I've been venturing out a bit in my favourite Steve Madden Pepe platforms:

I've wore them to the mall and out to pubs and to clubs downtown (I'm 21 now btw). I've even wore them in front on male friends. Most don't really care. Others are like "great shoes" and just move on with the convo. So as you can see I get my use out of them. Even being high, they are extremely comfy and easy to walk in.

Now a funny thing happened. I keep my shoes out in my closet. My parents know about some of my attire and really don't talk about it and it is not a big deal. Anyways, I went on a trip and when I came back home I notice this pair was missing (note: they are the cheap knock-offs...lol):

So I was like "Hey Ma, did you take my tan strappy heels?". And she was like "Ya I needed them I like them". Although I haven't ventured out in those yet, it was still cool that me and her can be open like that.

I recently bought a pair off ebay:

Now I am use to 4" heels (just like in my avatar). I can wear those no major problem. These new heels are 4.5". It is crazy what a flimzy sandal and an extra half inch can do to your stability and your muscles. I know with some practice I will be a pro at them. I can walk in them, it's just practicing to make them comfortable for me and my muscles. And of course - they really look good with my jeans!.

Well that's all for now. I hope to be contributing more. And if you don't hear from me, slap me one...lol

    Cheers!

  8. i personally like flip flops. For a casual look, the are sweet with a pair of jeans. Everyone seems to love my red ones the best. Most cheap pairs can cost you $3-5 (Canadian). I wear both girls and guys ones and everyone loves them.

  9. Thanks for all the compliments. I was not sure that pumps would be for me either. But I sure like them and they look good. I just have to wait until the weather gets warmer!

  10. I recieved my pumps last week and let me tell you -- soooo hot! Although I have wore stiletto pointy toe boots (avatar) out to clubs many times, there was something about pumps that I thought would not look good on me. But when I put them on, they were ment to be on my feet..lol. I will so wear these out when the weather gets better. I probably will not wear stilettos to university classes, but I have been wearing my wedge platforms some days. I think the next investment is in some monderate block heel boots that are not too high for school. I don't mean I'm worried about the height, its just a lower block heel for walking all day and long distances would be a little more pratical. Here are some pics of the pumps: *** 6 BROKEN IMAGE LINKS REMOVED *** Cheers! --CB17

  11. An the experimentation continues.... I just bought these in black off ebay for a good price. They are from frederick's of hollywood - great brand! The boots in my avatar are from their and i love them! I can't wait to try them on. I hope they look good!

  12. I decided to post some pics of me modelling them.

First ones are my boots that are in the avatar. The second are the Steve Madden wedges. Thrid are the strappy brown ones for $5 im still iffy on. These are all the ways that I wear them over my jeans. Note that the trendy style here is not necessarily to show all the heel, but to leave something to the imagination

  13. Hi all!

I haven’t posted here in a while, but I thought I would fill you guys in.

It’s now been coming to easy. I wear those boots I have in my avatar pic to bars and clubs and people just love them. They ask me where they can get some! Being 20, it helps because you can look trendy with a little flare. I think people truly appreciate someone that thinks outside the box. I can honestly say that I have a few friends that I have met through people or wherever that topics like this have triggered long conversations and have developed friendships.

Here’s an update on some styles:

    1) I got a pair similar to this from Le Chateau about 2 years ago. This was the first outside pair. Mine are a little lower, only about a 3” heel, with a 1” front (the pic I think is 4.75” tall, but same style. I wear these to school and everyday with no problem. They look like normal loafers and are very comfy:

    2) I bought these used off eBay. These are from Steve Madden. The style is called Pepe. I first tried these on in a store long time ago. They were so comfy that I just wanted them, but too much money at the time. The pair I got was dirty cheap and in great condition. I wore these to a club last week for the first time with a toering (no toenail polish, I didn’t have time to do them). They looked nice under flare jeans:

    3) I bought a knockoff of these at WalMart for $5. They are very cute but I haven’t had a chance to wear them out yet:

For the young people, what trendy styles to you like to wear? Also, what else should I experiment with wearing, shoes or other type or apparel. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a heel, but even like a cool looking flip flop or something. I guess you can say my look is still in guy mode, but with a little flare.

I would love to hear your comments!
