  1. All comments above are right on! I don't believe this is a problem of fashion, gender, or something like it... One often thinks the boss is the one that gets to make rules just for the heck. In this case, if something happens ... can mean a lot for both parties (Boss paying medical, work safety fines, etc) and employee (risk of not getting medical covered, losing job, not-an-easy-to-win lawsuit, etc). Our common sense is the best thing to rely upon when deciding when/where/how to heel ... like kneehighs said "there is a time and shoe for every occasion" anyway ... just my personal 2c

  2. I don't go out as much as i'd like, not for fear, but for personal reasons. The first is that it is difficult to sneak out of my apartment, (SO does not know). The second is that I don't want to run into any clients/coleagues, and believe me ... has happen a few times!!! It is not fear of what people might say or think ... have been out a few times, and really enjoyed and had fun with it! My personal thought is that each has their own concerns and reasons to street heel or not. Act as you might feel more comfortable, challenge yourself when time is right. Just remember ... there is a lot of support in this website from people that share your passion.

  3. WOW...that sounds like a great night!!! You're now sharing the rush of free-styling. It is all in our heads ... once you go out the first time, you realize that (a) it is not so hard, (:rocker: people don't really care (and if they do it's their problem), and © it's fun! Kudos to you ... Pam

  4. All comments are great and right-on advice! It is a difficult situation ... my 2c would be for you to think what are the consequences for each choice. Sometimes keeping a secret for the sake of a relationship is worth the pain. You will need to figure out a way to deal with it outside the house. On the other hand, if this is eating you alive, then maybe is worth taking it out on the open. P
