Congratulations Lion and Highluc! When the kids reach the age where they may be a bit embarrased by dad or grandad wearing heels, just wear longer pants. Charlie

There's nothing more dissapointing than determining that I'm wearing the highest heels in a room when there's plenty of ladies! Charlie

I think that Cranwell should have to wear some high heels and run while carrying gear! Charlie

I like the idea of alternating with some 4" heels you already have best. It makes the most sense. It doesn't require more funds, it yields more variety, and best of all, it's free! Charlie

I tend to wear my sneakers for cycling, but I do wear heeled boots (up to 4") when riding my motorcycle. No problems at all! Charlie

Hey Shockqueen: You say your professor was cooler than you thought and not so straight laced? So he wears a corset? That's where the term "straight laced" came from. Isn't that funny how we commonly use such old terms still to this day? Charlie

32 isn't bad Francis. I surprised myself this week by buying some CCM hockey inline skates and playing some roller hockey with the 15 - 18 year olds. All of those years of hockey training came right back and this old man of 39 was able to easily keep up with the teenagers! Of course, I'll bet they're not as sore as I am now.............. Charlie

What a group of stunning people! (not counting myself, of course ) Charlie

I only drive in heels. The other day, I drove with my sneakers on for the first time in almost a year and it felt extremely awkward! My jeep is a 5 speed manual transmission. I've never owned an automatic. (although what Highluc said w/regards to the world being much more stop and go is very true, and has me considering an automatic someday) Charlie

I think that with the extreme fetish platforms, (ie > than 3" sole with 7"+ heels) the stimulation is intended to be mostly visual. I know that with my personal boots, I like the feeling of the large angle between the ball of my feet and the heels of my feet. This feeling is pretty much the same with platforms so long as the platform sole isn't ridiculously thick. What I don't like about the men's platform shoes/boots is that the sole and heel height are designed such that they feel like flats. They must think men can't walk in any kind of real heels. Boy they're wrong! Charlie

Firefox: You ought to get that very informative post of yours published! That's the most impressive, illustrative post I've ever seen on any forum anywhere! Charlie

Firefox: It's all that beer you're winning off of Xaphod that's putting the weight on you! Charlie

For the most part, I don't think I'd change a thing. I currently wear the styles that I think best suit me. I'd maybe consider some of the chunky heeled (4" min) open toed sandals for the real oppressive, humid weather. Charlie

Nah, I didn't need to. Besides, I don't know how long he's done this, and if it hasn't been long, he probably doesn't want to be noticed.

I can't wait to lose these kitten heels! The wedges look a bit better, but I'm really after the 3.5" boots! Charlie

Laurie, You say dark and cynical, but I tend to see intelligence, humor, and a nurturing aspect to many of your posts. I suppose that's where I drew my mental picture of you. I don't see dark colors when I read your posts. Charlie

I saw a guy wearing women's ankle boots today at a local restaurant. They were black and had 2 1/2" chunky block heels with a non-platform sole. I was standing behind him waiting to pay the bill at the desk. He was a bit shorter than I (about 5' 7" with the boots, I'm about 5' 9" with mine) and likely wears them for the height increase like I do. (I like the feel of heels too! )I'd estimate his age to be late 50's, and he was in fairly good shape even for a guy 10 years his junior. I think that's great! I was wearing my new 3" chunky block heeled mid-platform shoes I just received this past Friday. (pictured under the thread "what have you bought recently" in this forum) Charlie _________________ Everything I say is a lie!.......I'm lying [ This Message was edited by: Charlie on 2002-03-24 03:17 ]

This should be a familiar face for you Vanessa! See, I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere! (just can't learn to dance the "side-step" --- ) - partial quote from the movie: "Best little Whorehouse in Texas" Charlie

Hello everyone! Here is the guy behind Charlie's posts...........................
Charlie
P.S. Laurie, you look almost 100% of how I imagined you would. That's wild!

About worse hobbies, here's one: remote controlled airplane flying. I invested over $500.00 and countless hours building the darned thing (I had the pilot looking just like Elvis Presley) when I got a bit bold and flew it into a thunderhead to see what would happen. That was the last I ever saw of the plane! This was 10 years ago, and I like to think Elvis is still up there flying around. Of course, the point here is that my shoes always come back if I do! I still can't even bring myself to recount the Messerschmitt 109 model plane incident........... Charlie

I actually did the "rock on the back of the heel" thing while standing out on our production floor today. One of the ladies who's also a shoe nut noticed and winked. I was a bit taken back as I wasn't aware I was doing this. It took me about two full seconds to realized why she winked. Aren't heels fun!? Charlie

Every time I see a younger person like terayon making tremendous progress so quickly, I get a little bummed out thinking of the years I personally wasted. I sure wish the internet was around when I was terayon's age...........let me see.........................that would have been 1978 .... Good for you terayon!!

I just bought these from Payless:
I figured I needed some new stuff for the warmer months that are rapidly approaching. They're in size 12 women's (U.S.)
Charlie
