  1. I'm only 5' 6" (167.6 cm) tall barefoot. I guess I should throw myself from a bridge?!! I personally wouldn't care if my wife was taller than me. Many attribute physical and inner strength directly to physical height alone. It's not so simple. I've known many tall cowards. Another thing to consider is that 5" stiletto heels probably don't add any more height than 3 1/2" platforms do. The angle of the foot in the footwear matters. Charlie

  2. I wore 3 1/2" chunky heeled mid platform boots to a small pub in Neiderstetten Germany. There were several groups of people from older to younger generations there. I had no problems whatsoever. I actually got asked by one of the ladies I met to go with her to a couple of other pubs in the area. Having remembered I was married, (beer can make one forget!) I had to decline the offer................................. Charlie

  3. I've never had anything but compliments. Mostly from women, and occasionally from the guys. The other day, I was with two co-workers in Long Island. (I was wearing 4" chunky heeled boots) We were at a bar, and were people watching when one of the guys saw this real goth gal. He said to me "Charlie, take a look at her, she's your ideal gal! You've got your cool boots on, so go introduce yourself....." He was kidding as he knows I'm married, but he really thinks I wear the coolest boots. He's said this before too........... Charlie

  4. Yeah, what is it about old men in hats?! Is there a club they belong to that rewards points everytime they annoy someone on the road? Another pet hate of mine is people who sleep at traffic lights when they turn green. Especially the ones who still get pissed off if you tap the horn after they've "slept" at the green light for more than 10 seconds! I only use the horn as a last resort........ Charlie

  5. Hey Trolldeg, Looks like another guy into the great color black! Like you and Firefox, I tend to wear black most of the time too. Enough so that people I know make a comment if I don't wear it! I also like the company you keep! -------- "Oh yes dear, I'll be off this damned computer in just a couple of minutes......." How did she know?!!!!!! The wife has a sixth sense ...................... Charlie

  6. I found that high school served as my first lesson towards acception through conformity. It's taken me years to undo that damage. What's funny is that the same people who voted me "most stylish" with my 3" heeled boots at our 20th high school reunion last year would have percecuted me unmercifully had I worn those same boots DURING high school. Thank God the majority of people grow up and open up their minds along this journey we call life. Charlie

  7. Those are very nice boots! I like the height of the shaft on them. I bet they'll be quite warm in the fall/winter months too. You should have no trouble with those in public. An excellent pair of "starter" boots. Charlie

  8. On the East coast of the U.S., the big thing is "Big East College Basketball". Television viewing is a big waste of time when this crap is in full swing. The thing I never understood about basketball was why the games need to be so long when they're usually decided by one or two baskets at the end anyways? As for hockey, I grew up playing organized hockey, and love the game. As for watching it on TV, I only tune in to watch the Boston Bruins lose the first round of the playoffs. It's an annual obligation that I've kept up for quite some time now. There does seem to be an overwhelming pattern here. It would seem those attracted to heels/style don't seem to care much for the largely popular pro sports nonsense. Does intelligence play a role here? Hmmnnn... In the U.S., pro athletes have become boring, over-paid slugs for the most part. Charlie

  9. I see many guys, young and old wearing earrings in one or both ears. Many guys had to go through much crap to make this possible. It's really become a common sight these days. All that said, I have no reason to put holes in my ears. Charlie

Seems to me like they're more an invention to keep women up!
