  1. After the way smokers have been turned into outcasts here in the States and abroad, very little surprises me anymore. This could very well be real. If freedom of expression is taken away worldwide slowly enough, it will be accepted by the masses with pockets of resistance at best. It's really out of control and it's too damned easy to start a bandwagon on just about anything if one can find enough bored people to get on it and be a vocal minority. Charlie

  2. Mr.X,

This may explain why Brazil was less affected by the global economic recession in 2008 and 2009 than most countries.

That and they're not tied to the oil sink hole that most of the rest of us are because they're powering their economy with ethenol made from their abundance of sugar cane and from what I understand, are virtually gas free. Good to know that they have a great, inexpensive selection of heels as I may end up moving there..

  3. There are all kinds of videos, some better than others, that teach walking in high heels. You can learn everything from normal walking to catwalk walking if that suits your fancy. In a single sentence, you place more emphasis on the ball of your foot when walking than you would in flat shoes. Charlie

  4. So it would take a world leader to make high heels for men to be accepted..... and probably some 'vertically challenged' celebrities to make them "cool".

Then men's shoes would be less (or not) boring!

It's true that males in the French aristocracy wore high heels but then the French revolution came and the extra height was negated by the lopping off of their heads. If only the peasants really had cake to eat.. chuckle..

  5. There were a couple of women that I dated and told of my enjoyment of wearing high heels. Both women told me that it was wrong for me to wear high heels and asked me why I enjoyed them. I told both of them that I thought high heels were pretty shoes, men's shoes were not pretty and they were boring, and I felt good and pretty wearing high heels. Both women told me that men aren't supposed to look pretty and men's shoes are for men and women's shoes are for women. Needless to say, I don't date either one of those women any more.

They weren't by any chance wearing pants when they told you all this were they? LOL

  6. I agree, besides, I really have not seen a young attractive girl in high heels since the time my ex wore these sexy stilettos to high school (and got told to take the off so they would poke holes in the lino!). Girls here just seem to like these stupid looking flat boots that look like slippers or ballet type flat shoes (pumps?). Only the women (30 ish and up) wear heels.

What you say is partly true here in the U.S. One need only look at the latest Steve Madden shoes to see ugly, flat, combat boot looking monstrosities amongst the more stylish ones for the gals. I remember when I was a kid it was a popular insult to say "your mother wears combat boots". LOL

What's up with ladies wearing flat rubber boots now? We have a gal in the office that does this even in the heat of summer. Her feet must be soggy when she takes them off at the end of the day.. yuk..

  7. Oh well.. I remember way back when I first found those guys online. It was such a relief to find people much like me who just like wearing higher heeled shoes/boots as a guy and learning that I wasn't some kind of weirdo. They also gave me the confidence to go further with it than I ever would have otherwise. I can see why they'd be a tad bored with all this by now though as I've been away for awhile too. It just becomes normal after awhile and you don't think of it as much as in the beginning. I do enjoy the posts by those who go out in stilletos and skirts though because it's about fashion freedom and everyone should be able to choose what they want to wear without others controlling them. One post that Quartz made back on the old board years ago still sticks in my mind to this day.. He was at a fashion show and when asked by one of the people who put it on to sum up male fashion with one word he replied "tyranny". :) He could also make a post about an outing in his Prada heels the most interesting story in the world. 8. I just took the wife to dinner wearing my 4" heeled western boots from Miguel. I wear flaired jeans with mine with the bottom of the pants about 1/2" above the floor and have never have anyone give me any crap. It's all about walking confidently in them and I'd dare say that I can walk better than most females I see stuggling in similar heel heights. Being a bit muscular probably helps too. LOL Charlie

  9. At a time when people here, and others all over the World are fighting unparallelled debts - and hard working people are expected to tighten their belts to help reduce the spending - I find it offensive and disgraceful that a woman like this is given so much publicity for her ability to waste huge amounts of money on shoes.

That goes for all so called 'celebrities' too.

Welcome to the Republican party! LOL

  10. You're not kidding about the sizing issues. Making the vamp correct for a good fit is critical and becomes even more critical when heel height is increased. I found that the sizing was fine for the 3" heeled boots, but the 4" ones required a vamp stretcher to make them truly comfortable. For anything above a 3" heel from Miguel, I go to a size 10. Size 9 1/2 is fine for 3" heeled boots. Either way, Miguel is very good about exchanges as I did this with the 4" heeled boots. The unfortunate thing, however, was that I really liked the style of the first pair that was just too tight.

I got myself a quality vamp stretcher. Problem solved! It took very little encouragement from the stretcher to make the boot fit like a glove.
