  1. Have TLSB really gone?

Last time I went by their shop (after hours) they still had a big window display of shoes and boots and the name over the door was still up.... this was only a few weeks ago, and it is now almost a year since their demise was first reported on this forum.

  2. >> I'm amazed that you'd want to wear the piece of clothing most women can't wait to take off <<

There are enough women around who wear heels all the time to amply show that statement to be completely untrue, and stereotypical of the rubbish that appears in mainstream newspapers.

    >> However, if you're crazy enough to want to squeeze into high heels and teeter around, go right ahead.

Squeeze? You only "squeeze" into them if they are the wrong size. I take a UK size 7 so I never "squeeze" into them. They fit just fine.

Teeter? You only "teeter" if they are too high, and you haven't had enough practise at that height (or you try walking down a steep hill).

I hate how those advice people force their stereotypes into what should be a straightforward answer, therefore colouring their advice.

All the readers now have this image of a bloke wobbling down the road, almost out of control in heels, and with size 12 feet stuffed into size 8 shoes, when the reality is probably very different to the picture painted.

  3. You only get the "view new posts since last visit" option if you are logged in.

That may explain some of the lurkers who have a user name but never post a message.

It would be fairly easy to remove all the user names where the user has NEVER logged in, or hasn't logged in for several years (I'm talking about logging in, not posting) those are likely to have lost their login details.

  4. I saw several girls wearing those on New Year's eve and thought of you!

Local Faith had a LOT of nice size 8 shoes: cantana, cavine, cagan, lodgy, lattice all at about 20 quid, and boots: mitter, mastery, romance all at about 40 or 50 quid.

I take a 7 and they had hardly anything in that size. Lots of girls clutching size 4 and 5 shoes, asking the staff "I just have to have these - tell me that you have got them in a six/seven" - and they didn't.

That Faith shop is a "woman magnet". I took a phone call on my mobile, outside one of their shops one evening (they were closed), and all of the women that went by stopped (or at least slowed down) and looked in their window. As I ended the call, I remarked to one lady (who turned out to be Spanish) that every woman had stopped and looked in the window. She remarked "beautiful shoes, I could spend all of my monies in this place. They are nice to look at and very nice to wear; maybe you should try it!". Ahem (maybe I should have said that I already had).

Most common shoe seen out on New Year's eve was the Faith court shoe with the strap over the toes, with a little "D" ring on it, and metal tab at the end of the strap with the word "Faith" stamped in it: "checkit2". They were on sale a year ago. I wanted a pair, but missed them in the sale.

  5. Boots give the most amount of ankle support. Additionally, thin toe straps dont hold your foot as well as a closed toe of any sort might do.

Nice sandals. There is no back strap to the shoe either; the strap is over the front of the foot. These sort of shoes are more difficult anyway. Practise will make it much easier.

I assume they are from Faith? I can only just make out the brand name. What was the style name and/or stock code? What UK or Euro size do you take?

  6. I would suggest to wear them around the house for a while each day, and not attempt any walking for at least a few days. For walking about try something around 5 inches or more for longer periods first. Alternate between the two shoes, then try the higher ones once the lower ones are easy. Maybe try 6 inch a lot before migrating to the 7 inch?

  7. Judge for yourself:

The red shoes are fine, but in her picture of 26th November, does Ellen Jay have to subject us to a pair of naked breasts bulging down to her thighs?

The home page of this High Heel Meeting Place clearly states "This site does not contain any nudity or pornography". That is what I normally like about these Megaforums - a nice sleaze-free site where we can admire nice high heels and high heel wearing without the all-to-prevalent tacky shots of boobs and genitals etc. and pseudo-bordello interiors. Give me a clean-cut street-shot of a nice well-dressed girl striding along in high stiletto heels any day!

Notwithstanding this protestation, I am pleased that 99.9% of the posters on these forums do in fact respect the above policy on the home page.

    Cheers, Heelfan

  8. I have never seen any great stuff in Matalan. TK Maxx has always been good though (up until a few months ago, nothing recently). They sell overstock and past season stuff at 50 to 80% off. Faith do a few things in UK Size 9, check their website. Barratts go up to UK 10 in some stores. If you are going to London, check the dozens of shoe shops in Camden High Street. They have a lot of nice stuff.

  9. I think Manolo Blahnik made some 4 and 5 inch heels with something like 3mm titanium shafts, but withdrew them from sale when it was realised that if you stood on someone elses foot, you would go right through.... (may have been Jimmy Choo but more certain about Manolo Blahnik).

The story made it into the usual fashion press, but I have never seen a picture of any of these shoes; no evidence that they ever actually existed (though it was rumoured that a few of the elite managed to snap a pair up direct from the designer).
