  1. >> i took a closer look and saw a three quater length leather coat didnt think much of it and looked a bit higher and found the person to be male, <<

Now, that could have been Xaphod, who occasionally frequents these forums....

  2. I am assuming that the other site does not allow remote hot-linking of images, but you can still see all of the images if you go to the folder above, at: http://www.mikescelebs.net/j/jessicaalba/

Those shoes look like the Clichy pump by Christian Louboutin and will set you back a tidy sum. They have a 5 inch heel, and there was a pointy toe version the year before (which I like even more).

  3. Heh. I have seen that shop and I like their stuff. Never been in. The shop is the size of about 10 telephone kiosks, so "intimate" isn't the word; and there was already 2 or 3 people in there everytime I have looked. Round the corner from there was "The Shoe Shed", part of United Footwear. They have had a "closing down" sale for the last 2 years, and less than a month ago, a repossession (termination of lease) order was slapped on the door. It had happened that morning, and all the stock was still in the shop.

  4. That's what they invented the Tube for! :D About 6 or 7 Pounds gets you an all day ticket for the Tube and the buses for Zones 1 2 and 3 for as many trips as you like until way after midnight. Aldo make some nice stuff. I hope you also visited at least Faith, Schuh, and Dune in Oxford Street. There are about 15 shoe shops in Oxford Street. Another shoe Mecca is Camden High Street, and there are a few nice shops around the Covent Garden area.

  5. I have a pair similar to those (almost 5 inch block heel), but without the straps, that I got from Faith a long time ago. They are real nice. I really like those in the picture above. Have they got a manufacturer, brand, or style name, marked anywhere at all?

  6. Have TLSB really gone?

Last time I went by their shop (after hours) they still had a big window display of shoes and boots and the name over the door was still up.... this was only a few weeks ago, and it is now almost a year since their demise was first reported on this forum.

  7. >> I'm amazed that you'd want to wear the piece of clothing most women can't wait to take off <<

There are enough women around who wear heels all the time to amply show that statement to be completely untrue, and stereotypical of the rubbish that appears in mainstream newspapers.

    >> However, if you're crazy enough to want to squeeze into high heels and teeter around, go right ahead.

Squeeze? You only "squeeze" into them if they are the wrong size. I take a UK size 7 so I never "squeeze" into them. They fit just fine.

Teeter? You only "teeter" if they are too high, and you haven't had enough practise at that height (or you try walking down a steep hill).

I hate how those advice people force their stereotypes into what should be a straightforward answer, therefore colouring their advice.

All the readers now have this image of a bloke wobbling down the road, almost out of control in heels, and with size 12 feet stuffed into size 8 shoes, when the reality is probably very different to the picture painted.
