  1. lol, I'm really naughty like that, I'm off the phone as fast as possible, I'm like "Hi, yep, got that, ok, bye......." Even when my parents call, I'm like "Hi, whats up?, no seriously, whats up because I'm busy? Nothing? ok, bye..."

I'm with you on that .. was raised in house where my grandfather would stand by the door tapping his watch and saying 3 minutes - didnt matter, short distance, long distance or international. If you couldnt say it in 3 minutes, then he advised you write a letter or go and see the person. Its rubbed off on me but the only person who doesnt seem to get it is my boss .. and its always when Im on roaming :)

  2. There are so few settings on it, its great, but the one you might want to enable, given its a school, is to scan removable drives... Wouldn't want any nasties going from PC to PC.

Also, while your cleaning up their PC's, did you know that in your windows folder, you can safely delete ALL of those windows updates folders that appear at the beginning of the windows folder, and all the related .txt log files too, that will free up over a GB, and speed up the virus scanning too.

Thanks for all the info Tech - v good point about the removable drives - will make sure that gets turned on

All very useful info re update folders - dont know why but it just never occured to me. Consider it done!

  3. JOhnW, let me be the first to welcome you to HHP and to thank you for that very good intro about yourself. Its nice to get a clear understanding of the people who are joining the forum and their interest in heels. Whilsts KG's shoes are very nice, I'm a bit of a Nine West man myself although the local stores dont stock my size and I have to wait until I travel to the US to find them. So if you have lots more to share, we look forward to hearing more from you soon. Sure that you'll find us to be an interesting but diverse group of people who participate here

  4. Hey Confused, Well that seems to have worked out for you - you seem to have a very understanding GF. Great to hear how supportive she is being and the fact that she is willing to get you a pair of 'trainer heels' :) Probably wont be the last time you discuss this but its important that you dont hide anything from her. Its baby steps (and Im not talking about the trainer heels) but good luck - we look forward to hearing more from you soon.

  5. 3 Good things MS has done in my book... Security Essentials, Windows Home Server and Windows 7... Shame it took so bloody long, but hey ho, they did make shite loads of mistakes along the way...

Amen to that Tech!! As you say, they've had so much bloody practive, they had to get it right sometime!

AVG - total heap of sheep. It killed my machine too - got rid of it for Avast and got another 2 years out of my XP machine!

Must have a look at MSE - am about to start taking AVG off all the HW at my daughters school, they are complaining that their machines are dying and want parents help replace all the machines. You wouldnt believe what a local IT company is charging them to keep the stuff going and they couldnt even be bothered to install a printer drivers because the school had run out of hours - it has to wait until next month!?! HW is in such a state, its not funny. Offered to go in and do the maintenance for nothing and asked them to try Avast first before replacing machines (we're talking P4 & Core2 in some cases :) ) but may go with MSE based on what I'm reading. You say its free? Just what schools need to hear.

  6. My Desire is better than the iPhone 4 because I can make calls without having to hold it in a certain way. :) (Sorry, that's a bit of a cheap shot!)

Yes it was .. but take the opportunity where you get it, it may not come again :lmao:

Having said that, I may get an IPhone next as my android is crap at detecting speakers! :lmao:

LOL - this is one of the best posts I've read in a long time! Good call Tech

PS: I've found that my Crackberry Storm is brilliant ... as a paper weight in my outbox until I can get around to recycling it! iPhone 4 is rocking

  7. Who said I had issues with Apples staying in control? I never had issues with that, and actually prefer it, as it maintains stability, especially when you pay an arm + 2 legs for an iphone, I want the damn thing to work properly... Jailbreaking it, in my eyes, is non-sensical, unless your a developer, or have a shit load of cash to piss around with....

OK, maybe the use of the word control was not entirely correct .. I was was just trying to refer to your opening line in the initial post as quoted below.

ok, so being the "I hate everything apple does" kinda person for years, ever since a REALLY bad experience with the itunes software wiped out 15,000 albums on my server several years ago,

As for jailbreaking .. I guess its each to their own. Certainly not going to get into a debate about which is better

Hey, the upside is, at least I answered your question :) .. althought I've just noticed that I made an error by saying "An HHP place could be just the answer otherwise for the phone" .. what I meant to say was "an HHP APP could be the answer"

  8. Hey Tech, like you I am not a fan of Apples control issues - I hate being dictated to on what I can and cant do. Jailbroke my first iphone and had some great apps that werent from the itunes. That said it is an amazingly easy device to use and all the apps make it even easier - the main issue I have with the iphone is the screen size when browsing - youre constantly zooming in and out. HHP works just fine but your fingers are knackered by the time youve been logged on for an hours or so .. not to mention the eyes. This probably wont be an issue on the ipad .. Im just too tight to buy one An HHP place could be just the answer otherwise for the phone

  9. :lmao: someones must surely be having a laugh!!! This is a wind up .. its got to be ... please anyone :lmao: If governments have time to consider this type of ridiculous legislation then they are obviously not doing their job!! What a nanny state - next theyll be checking to see if you have clean underwear. Get rid of em!! .. Ok, I fell for it. Where are the cameras?:)
  10. Yes talk to your girlfriend and say can we go back please. If she insisted you buy them she must be interested in you having them. Go on treat yourself, you've got one hell of a good lady there, make her happy and give in to her wishes.

I'm with Foxyheels - think your GF is very supportive of the idea so go for it

  11. Ha ha Jay Jay, my wife saw Micheal Moll on expresso (SABC3) the friday morning before the event ( all the male presenters had heels on) and dared me to wear my stilettos to the mall that very same day. I didnt have the balls, indoors only, fine by me..........

Opportunity lost BAAL78!! :lmao: But respect for knowing what youre happy with :) Maybe next time

  12. The shoes was donated to me by Plum (website plum.com.es ). It is just a pity that I cannot get any SA Heelers to walk with me.:):lmao:

Very nice of them - how did you convince them to do that. Had a look at the website, Some nice shoes there .. PITY they dont seem to do above an 8 :lmao:
